Seat Belt Problems of Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Seatbelt mechanism for driver side and passenger side is inoperable. It doesn't lock after you put your seatbelt on. The mechanism you put the seatbelt buckle in is good but after that the lock mechanism for the belt to retract isn't working properly. It doesn't matter if you are driving or parked.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The contact stated their vehicle's driver and front passenger seat belts fail to retract and lock in position to secure the passenger in the seat. The contact contacted the dealership (sanders Ford located at 1006 w corbrelt Ave, swansboro nc 28584 phone number: 910-326-1801) who informed the contact that the seatbelts were no longer covered under warranty and that any diagnosing and repair would have to be covered by them. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Gl.

The driver seat back kept falling into the back seat while driving, now the seat back doesn't move. The passenger is doing the same just not as bad. The heated seats come on whenever they want, but the heated driver's seat has stopped working all together. The seat belts randomly lock and barely retract.

I had an accident I January 2016 and my airbag did not deploy cause me damage to my neck and both shoulder. Doctors say I need surgery on rotator cuffs. If airbags had deployed I would not have been thrust forward. I grabed steering wheel to brace my self and was thrust forward there for damagen both rotator cuffs in my shoulder and hurting my neck also. I have seen many other trucks of my make that air bags have not deployed and people getting hurt. I do not understand why they did not deploy. . Why are there not recalls on this air bags. Thank you. The body mount insulators deteoriated and the body could come loose from the chassis. Ford wants over 3000 dollars for this repair which is an obvious material flaw.
