Power Window problems of the 1997 Ford F-150

Seven problems related to power window have been reported for the 1997 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2003

The top of the back window leaks, causing water to drip into the cab of vehicle. Dealer informed consumer that the window and the track need to be replaced to remedy the problem.

2 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2001

Rear window is leaking water on passenger's side. Glass has separated from frame of the truck. Please provide any further information.

3 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2001

Bottom of each window in right corner, if inside vehicle, there's a quarter inch crack on outside of the windows. Driver states crack is getting longer. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide any further information.

4 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2001

Technician found power windows were not working due to cracks on both doors, all three doors are rusting at bottoms, consumer states if there would be an accident, most likely the doors would break in half.

5 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2000

Lower right corner of window, there is a small crack on door about 25 inches long.

6 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1999

Rear back glass leaks. Dealership is aware of problem. Everytime she washes vehicle water comes in though the window.

7 Power Window problem

Door at lower window has developed crack on both doors. Electrical system that reads door ajar or shut in door has failed /also controls wipers & int. & ext. Lighting/ they share the same fuse.
