Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problems of the 1999 Ford F-150

The contact owns a 1999 Ford f150. The contact was attempting to park the vehicle. As the brakes were applied, the brake pedal was abnormally depressed into the floorboard. After inspecting the failure he noticed corrosion and rust on the brake line and the fuel straps. The dealer was notified of the rust and informed the contact there were no recalls and offered no further assistance. The manufacturer was also notified who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 100,000.

My daughter was driving my 1999 Ford f150 truck (approx. 145,000 odometer miles) at 35 mph when one (probably the front), or both, gas tank straps broke. She dragged the tank about 300 yards before stopping. I had to clip/cut the fuel sensor wires because I couldn't unlatch the sensor wires. Another small hose came off (fuel overflow hose?) easily. I was then able to pull the tank out from under the truck and drain the leaking gasoline into a gas can and have the truck towed. A used tank was found with the original fuel pump in it to replace the damaged tank and a new gas gauge sensor attached.

Started vehicle and noticed strong gasoline odor. Upon further investigation fuel return line on top of tank was ruptured and shooting a large stream of gas all under truck.
