Fuses And Circuit Breaker problems of the 1999 Ford F-150

Four problems related to fuses and circuit breaker have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2005

2001 Ford f150. The cruise control sensor caught on fire on August 9, 2005. The consumer was driving the vehicle when this happened. Smoke started coming out of the hood, he pulled over. The smoke and flames were coming from the sensor. The fire department was not called. The vehicle was then driven to the dealership, they stated it was not under warranty, and it was not a recall item . Consumer had to pay for the damages $120 plus for the fuses that blew out.

2 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2005

Dt the brake lights were not working, checked the bulbs, had a topper wired into them . Took that off and disconnected it. Tried flashers, they worked. Checked fuses, figured it was one of the two switches, either the one on the reservoir or the one the pedal up under the dashboard. Found out yesterday on July 20, 2005.

3 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem

Failure Date: 10/20/1999

Vehicle has been experiencing ongoing problem with fuse blowing out whenever turn signal or four- way flasher is used. Dealer was not contacted at this time.

4 Fuses And Circuit Breaker problem

Fuse connected to the brake lights blew out three times. Dealer could not determine the cause. It was later determined that circuit #13 controlled the stop lamp, turn signals, hazards lights and speed control module. The consumer believes this is a dangerous combination.
