Three problems related to tire blowout have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1 week before tire had blow out of same series on right side rear that tread seperated from side wall. Dt.
Was turning a corner at 15mph when right rear tire blew. Maintained control of caravan. Checked tires & all had cracks down the center of tread, and was also pitted down to the tread pattern. Tires were inspected prior to the blowout. Contacted road side service. Firestone, wilderness ht, p235/70r16 with 24,000 miles.
The tires on this vehicle are too small. It has passenger car tires and not small truck tires, this has caused two tires to blow out and a flat. Dealer has been contacted. Dealer states that these are the right size tires.
