The half rear doors accessing the rear bench seat are defective. The doors have a defect in the locking/opening handle. The Ford dealer locally wants to charge me in excess of $1119. 00 to correct the problem. I have researched this matter via the internet & have found this is a pretty common complaint.
Multi-car rear-ender. Front driver's side bag deployed, and driver's left eye destroyed.

Both passenger back doors stop opening. Drivers back door this week, passenger back door the next week. Could eventually become a death trap if problem exist inside the cab (fire, collision and can't get out, must crawl across the center counsol to exit the truck, etc. ). Expensive to replace the latching mechanisms for both doors.
Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the cross members, cab mounts, brakes lines and starter cables were all rusted. The contact stated that there was a recall on the vehicle for corrosion of the fuel tank straps under NHTSA campaign id number: 11v385000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly:mounting) but not for the other corroded components. Ford has issued a recall for defective fuel tank straps that may corrode and cause a potential fuel leak. I brought my truck in for the recall and sure enough my straps are corroded. The vehicle is at a Ford dealership and they will not replace the straps because the corroded straps have started to corrode the tank. According to the dealer the tank will begin leaking if they replace the straps. The dealer called Ford customer care and they would not cover the tank. I also called Ford and they refused to cover the tank and also will not replace the straps unless I purchase a tank from them to replace. If my straps break I will lose my tank and potentially cause a fire or accident to another vehicle. The recall does not currently address additional damage caused by the defective straps. The damage to my tank is a direct result of the defective straps and should be covered under this recall. I leave in new england and am sure there are many other Ford trucks with the same problem. What recourse do I have to get this resolved? spoke with mark, a customer service supervisor at Ford customer care in florida, case # 607483151. Any assistance would be appreciated,.
Vehicle taken in on oct 5, 2011 for safety recall notice 11s21. While on the rack much rusting was noticed on undercarriage as well as spots rusting through paint at specific points on the right and left side rocker panels, bed and the running boards. Pictures and samples were taken and an email sent to the company president. No response was ever received. An internet search has found that this rust problem is prevalent in the F-150 of this vintage. The rust has not only diminished the value of the vehicle but the issues with the rocker panels and running boards have the potential to lead to accidents occurring with a failure at operating speeds.
I began hearing a squeel coming from the engine compatrment and on stopping I could hear the cooling fan hitting the fan cowling. I thought the squeel was from one of the idler pullies on the serpentene belt, and thought that maybe the fan cowling had loosened. On my way to the repair station, I lost the belt, it came completly off. What actually happened was the radiator support had completly rusted and disintergrated causing the front portion of the engine components to fall forward. I had to bring the vehicle to a body shop where they had to remove the bumper, front end, both fenders, and the hood to replace the radiator support. The owner of the shop knew of this problem when I brought the truck in and stated that this was a common problem with this turck and that he has done approxiamately 20 of them in the past year. $1400. 00 dollars later my truck rides much better and noise free. I thought that I had something going on on the passenger side of the truck, for it would bounce terribly over bumps. I thought maybe a bad shock. Turns out after this repair, the problem is gone.

Metal paneling for driver door is cracking right below the window. Both doors keep jumping out of alignment making it difficult to close the doors, and it is also scratching the exterior paint. Also, metal roof is beginning to collapse in on passenger compartment. Dealership informed consumer that stress on passenger compartment could be causing these problems, but cannot determine what is causing the stress. Please provide any additional information / documentation.
I bought a new f150 pickup from korum Ford and after a week I noticed an excessive amount of rust on the under carriage and under the hood of the vehicle, I took it to the service manager to look at and he said it was normal, I did not agree with him and took it to two other dealers and I was told that a brand new vehicle should not have that much rust on it and said it was excessive. I took the truck back to korum and told them I did not want the vehicle for safety reasons and the amount of rust that was on this vehicle. Korum wants to treat the vehicle like it is a used vehicle and make me pay more money to swap for a vehicle with less options. I believe the amount of rust that is on the vehicle now will prematurely weaken the vehicles parts and I will not get the full use of the vehicles life with out taking more money out of my pocket.
