1 Steering Gear Box Sector Shaft problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2003

While driving at any speed and when making a turn consumer heard a clanking noise. Consumer replaced the steering shaft, but the problem persisted. Vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then replaced the idler arm, which corrected the problem. Vehicle only has 25,000 miles.

2 Steering Gear Box Sector Shaft problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2001

While driving the vehicle lost all steering control due to shearing of the sector shaft, this resulted in a collision with a tree, both the consumer and passenger were injured in the accident (attorney for consumer).
