Failure Date: 05/09/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. The contact stated that an abnormal noise was heard which had caused the contact to further inspect the vehicle where it was noticed that there was an extensive red smoke and fire under the vehicle from the front which had gone over to the 1999 Ford expedition causing fire as well. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of the fire department. A fire inspection report was provided. Two vehicles had been impacted due to the fire. The insurance company had not yet inspected the vehicle. The vehicles had been at the contacts residence due to the failure. A dealer had not diagnosed the cause of the fire yet. The contact was not aware nor notified of speed control system modification from Jan 27, 2005 and NHTSA campaign number: 11v385000 (fuel system, gasoline) as of Jul 29, 2011. The manufacturer was notified of the failure to determine if they may be able to investigate the cause of the fire causing catastrophic damages to two vehicles. The approximate failure mileage. Dyd.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2012

I was driving home and all of a sudden there was an explosion under the hood and it sounded like part of the exhaust system gave way. I pulled over and found out that a spark plug had blown out of the head. The only one to ever touch the engine was Ford and that they had replaced a spark plug several years ago. I got on line and found out there are literally thousands of these spark plug ejections. I was wondering if there was a recall on the problem ? the fact that the super-heated air and mixture fuel spraying all over the underneath of the hood is a extreme danger, it would seem that would be a safety recall.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2009

I have a 2001 f150 it has a gas smell from engine .

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2004

Vehicle was driven to pick up supplies. After picking up order, driver approached vehicle and noticed smoke coming out of the hood. 911 was called. Fire dept arrived & put out fire in 10-15 minutes. Fire fighter (not investigator) said his guess was a gas leak or faulty cng valve that had a leak. Was vehicle parked? bby.
