Speed Sensor problems of the 2001 Ford F-150

1 Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2015

The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 05v388000 (vehicle speed control); however, the cruise control experienced a failure. The contact stated that the brake master cylinder where the speed control sensor was located was fractured, causing the brake fluid to leak out of the cylinder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but the contact was not offered a remedy for the failure. The failure mileage was 246,000.

2 Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2003

Three speed sensor had to be replaced, when the sensors failed it caused the vehicle's speedometer not to function. The failure of the sensors also caused the vehicle's cluster and main computer to short out.
