I own a 2002 Ford F-150 supercrew 4x4 pickup with 5. 4l v8 gas engine and aod automatic transmission. At 48,500 miles on the vehicle the od on/off switch would not stay engaged and was flashing intermittently I took the truck to a local transmission shop who showed me metal shavings in the transmission pan and was told the torque converter must be replaced and the transmission must be rebuilt. I agreed to the work because I need a dependable vehicle. I have never abused the truck in any way and do not haul any type of trailers with the vehicle.
