1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2019

One general grabber stx, from walmart, on front of f150 base model truck shredded on highway. Following day the other front tire of same year and model of tire shredded. They shredded at 49,189 mies, 3yrs of use, still under tire manufacturers warranty. Dot: a30khm580816 and a30khm581316. I suspect the model of tire can't handle the load of the front of the truck. Whereas the exact same models of tires and same dot numbers on the rear are still running on the truck with 2900 miles more. The set of these four tires were all installed on the same date.

2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2014

Very bad tread wear on front outside edge. Looked like alignment problem since tires still have 80% of tread. Tech at alignment shop said the alignment was ok and showed me where the tread had started to separate from the casing. Tech advised to replace tires very soon. Tire size not on recall list so it looks like I am stuck with replacing a bum set of tires.

3 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2011

Driving on I-95 in florida, when I experienced a violent shaking of the truck. The truck swerved side to side almost resulting in a crash. I was able to control the truck and bring it to the side of the road. I discovered that my driver side rear tire had the tread separated from the tire. It was cooper tire discoverer h/t 265/70r17. So far, cooper took my information and is going to send paperwork on the damage to the truck.

4 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2006

Ameristar tires!! are they good tires? my opinion is no, no, no! I have 16,000 miles of granny-like driving on my 2003 Ford F-150, with the original ameristar tires provided stock on my truck. We don't get that much rain in California but every time it does rain I notice that I have to drive even more cautiously than I ever have. I slide all over the place even when the tires were brand new. Well today I merged onto the freeway at approximately 55 mph, while everyone else was passing me in there little tiny cars at 75 mph. I hit a puddle and that's all she wrote. I slid across 4 lanes and smashed into the center divide. This is just another example of car manufacturers and just about everyone else cutting corners to save a buck and risking the lives of children, mine was in the car, and consumers. I have already read that ameristar tires are falling apart anyway and Ford should rectify the situation and replace those garbage tires with something better. Now, after I have just about killed myself and my daughter, I have come to the conclusion that something needs to be done about this situation. Please help!!! I have to pay for the damage done to my truck and my higher insurance rates because of a cheap product. "aw he's probably a bad driver. " you say, well I have driven thousands of miles in trucks in rainy, snowy weather and have never had any problems with hydroplaning. Get rid of your ameristar tires right away if you live in rainy areas.

5 Tire problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2003

I had a severe blow out of a factory tire at low speed on a cold tire. The tire had approximately 6000 miles and had not been low on air. I have kept the damaged tire for inspection by qualified person.

6 Tire problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2003

A vibration at 38-42. Delaer has rotated and balanced tires twice in 5600 miles and told me I need to balance and rotate more often because my tires are cupping. The vibration has not gone away. The dealer then stated that I needed to get Ford to replace my general tires with michelins. I am still waiting for Ford to tell the dealer what to do.

7 Tire problem

Front passenger tire came off. Dealer was contacted and stated that it was the drivers fault because he did not rotate the tires at 5000 miles. Therefore they won't cover the damages.
