1 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2017

2004 Ford f150 started up fine, drove it for 10 minutes, slowed down and it stalled in the middle of an intersection. Would not start back up, called a tow truck to get the truck home. Next day, started up and did the same thing, stalled out. The fuel pump driver module is causing this, along with a lot of other Ford f150's. This is a safety issue! I had my child in the truck when it stalled in the middle of an intersection. The fpdm gets corroded due to the bad positioning of the part.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2014

While driving normally at 55 mph I drove through a small puddle of water and next thing I know the truck stalls and lost all power. I managed to pull of road without getting hit from behind. I tried to restart the truck with no luck. Seemed like it wasn't getting fuel. Waited in pouring rain and sleet for mechanic and 120 for the new fuel pump driver module and and arm and leg for labor on something that should be recalled. Its not safe for the truck to stop like that just for going through a puddle. I live in michigan and we have crazy weather here. Replace this part now Ford and take care of your customers!.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2013

Replaced fuel pump driver module (fpdm) mounted on a support above the spare tire on a 04 Ford f150. First engine code was p0191 for the fuel rail pressure sensor, engine would crank but not start. Ran scan tool and found code p1237 for the fuel pump driver module. The cast housing of the fpdm is corroded and cracked almost splitting it in two pieces. Had to grind off fpdm and the mounting bolts and drill and tap new mounting holes. After replacing fpdm, truck starts and no longer has a rough idle.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2013

The contact owns a Ford F-150. The contact was driving 60 mph when the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where the contact was informed that the fuel pump control module disintegrated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by the contact. The manufacturer was notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2012

While attempting to accelerate onto a highway my vehicle sputtered and I was unable to get up to speed in a reasonable amount of time. Fortunately I was on a 4 lane highway and the approaching vehicles were able to avoid me by pulling into the passing lane. I brought my vehicle in for service and a corroded fuel pump control module was responsible for the hesitation. According to my mechanic, he categorized the problem as defective design. The module is mounted in a area susceptible to corrosion. This is a relatively easy fix however in my case the spare tire carrier had to cut off to access the module.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2004

The computer processor will not retain any information, causing the vehicle to shutdown completely. The consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and it remained there for 21 days while this problem was being repaired. The repairs were done and the consumer received the vehicle back, but the problem recurred. The vehicle broke down while in motion. After the second time the fuel pump was replaced it broke down again.
