My brake booster or vacuum line has went out during driving and I almost lost control with my family. I see theres recalls on my make model and year. So I wanted to check and see because it was scary I had to leave my truck and get it towed some how back still also.

Me enter hoy que mi truck tena varios recall y no he recibido aviso, gracias por su atencion.
While driving, my f150 without warning, died 3 times in 1/2 mile. Leaving me with no power steering, power brakes. Very dangerous. Nearly had a accident. Had 1/2 tank of gas. New battery. It did not give a code. I did get it started each time and was able to drive it home. Now I am afraid to drive it.
The brake warning lite remains on. I'm told by my mechanic that it is due to a broken connection in the dash board circuit board and he said it is a relatively common fault. Repair requires removing the entire dash board and replacement of the circuit board.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 40 mph, the two front wheels on the vehicle seized without warning. The contact stated that the failure occurred on at least eight occasions. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and provided case number: cas12702472. Fuse 14 controlling abs module, dtr sensor, reverse lights, pcv heater, air conditioner compressor, cruise control deactivator switch and daytime headlights was repeatedly blowing. Truck was serviced by dealer on 3-23-16, replacing the a/c compressor. Replacing the a/c compressor did not resolve any issues. The truck was returned to the dealer on 4-6-16 for the same issue with the same fuse. The dealership replaced the fuse and performed diagnostic tests on the truck, then informing me that they could not diagnose or locate the short. The dealership informed me that I would have to drive the truck until the fuse started blowing more frequently. The first time the truck was driven after work was performed the cruise control was not functioning properly. The truck engine would surge as the truck went down the road with the cruise control on. The issue with the cruise control happened on 4-9-16. On the morning of 4-10-16 the truck was driven approximately 4 miles and parked in the drive of my home. After entering the house the alarm was heard sounding on the vehicle, at which time I stepped outside to find the truck on fire. The fire seemed to have started on the inside of the truck.
Brake booster vacuum supply metal stand pipe ruptured. This was while driving. Loss of vacuum and loss of engine performance and brakes were sluggish. Have to push all way to floor.
Had new brakes installed several years because it was shaking and almost impossible to stop at highway speed. Well it is happening again if you are traveling highway speed. Brakes are very bad again. This vehicle has about 55,000 miles on it and should not have worn out brakes for the second time. Something is terribly wrong with the braking system. I am to the point of being afraid to drive it on the highway because you have to mash hard on the brake and feel the front shaking before it will finally stop!.
The warning light for brakes, on the dash, stays on all of the time.
The brakes faded during a emergancy stop on the hiway. I was able to get stopped but the break peddel went clear to the floor. I could not pump up the peddel to make the breake work any better.
I purchased my 2005 f150 with a 5. 4l trinitron engine used in 2010. I completed all regular scheduled maintenance using the recommended products, most of it done in Ford dealerships. This 5. 4l engine is a poor design and should be recalled. It has numerous problems. I had a safety inspection done at a Ford dealership and it passed even though it had a ticking sound in the engine and I had hesitation and loss of power. Replace spark plugs, I had already replaced the transmission at 98,000 miles! this engine is a piece of junk! Ford needs to stand behind its' "built Ford tough" trucks and make this right. I cant enjoy my truck!!!.
Upon starting my car that morning it backfired and white smoke exited from the exhaust which it has never done before. Once idling I put the truck in reverse with my foot on the brake and my truck rolled down the driveway. I had to depress my brakes with significant force to get it to stop. Upon checking the engine later there is no vacuum detected at the power brake assist. There is a recall on other Ford trucks of this year and model with the same issues that mine was exhibiting. Upon calling Ford they said that my VIN # was not associated with this recall. Go figure!.
The vehicle has a removable rubber cover on the brake pedal which can come off during braking causing one's foot to come off the pedal. This is what happened causing me to hit the car in front of me as I was coming to a stop.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph uphill, the brakes began pulsating as the contact decelerated. In addition, the driver and passenger side windows had fallen into the door panel without warning. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was approximately 158,000.
In a three car accident. The 1st car turned on their signal at the same time attempted to turn into their driveway, the 2nd car hit the 1st car from the rear, as my F-150 approached the 2nd vehicle, I applied the brakes to stop before colliding into 2nd vehicle and the brakes became soft and did not slow the F-150, the F-150 was traveling at well below the posted speed limit, air-bags did not deploy, there fore hitting the 2nd vehicle in the rear causing almost no damage to 2nd vehicle and causing an almost totaled front end to the F-150 with close to $13000 in damage to F-150. No major injuries were reported, only minor back pain to both persons in F-150 were concurred.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. The contact stated the front rotors had to be replaced twice because they were warped. The failure caused the steering to wheel to shake violently when driving at high speeds and braking. The contact also stated that the rotors were replaced twice within 7,000 miles of driving. The dealer had not given a reason for why the failure occurred. The failure mileage was 23,000 and the current mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford f150. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact applied pressure to the brake pedal but the vehicle would not respond. The vehicle was taken to the dealer yet the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 08v208000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings) but the contacts VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.
The following incident has been filed with the Ford motor company. I want to be clear that this incident was not the result of a floor mat or driver error. At no time did the driver have her foot on the accelerator nor was there an object on, around, under, or over the accelerator. Incident: on 18 February 2010 at approximately 1230 pm my wife, mother in-law, father in-law and infant daughter were proceeding northbound on water tower rd. Located in bentonville, ar. There were zero distractions inside the vehicle and my wife was fully alert with no physical impairments. Road conditions were dry and weather was sunny with great visibility. As they approached the intersection of water tower rd. And battlefield blvd. At approximately 5-10 miles per hour, my wife began breaking. After placing her right foot on the brake pedal, she immediately noticed/heard/felt/experienced increased acceleration and decreased breaking power during her attempts to stop. She immediately increased pressure on the brake pedal ensuring her right foot was not on the accelerator. The engine continued its efforts to increase speed while my wife fought to bring the vehicle to a stop. They proceeded into and through the vacant intersection at approximately 5-10 miles per hour and fortunately without incident. My wifes efforts to stop the vehicle continued beyond the intersection for an approximate 150 - 200 feet. The vehicle finally ceased its efforts to accelerate and came to rest at that point. After regaining their composure, my wife pumped the brakes in effort to determine the malfunction. Unable to determine the problem and feeling comfortable to drive again, they proceeded cautiously only to have this happen once more. This second occurrence happened less than â¼ mile from the previous location with my wife being prepared for the malfunction. During this occurrence she pumped the brakes and stopped the increased revolutions of the engine immediately.
Loss of brakes, braking while going downhill, loss of brakes, abs not working then working.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the brakes started to pulsate and the steering wheel jerked violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the rotors were warped and as a result, the rotors needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 31,000. Updated 03/16/lj updated 04/19/12.
The sparkplugs on the Ford triton 3 valve engine. When I bought this truck it was known by the dealer and the company that there were problems with the sparkplugs. Neither one will take responsibility for the problem. Ford needs to replace the plugs in all these engines and reimburse the consumers for any out of pocket expenses they have incurred.
1. Brake dot 3 is running out after several months. When I apply the brakes, the vehicle keeps going. In order to keep the vehicle running, I must push down the brake very hard to stop the vehicle. I have to constantly refill the oil tank. 2. When driving on the highway and the speed reaches at around 45-65 mph, the vehicle automatically loses power and hit at 3-5 mph before stopping. After I completely turn off and reset the battery, the vehicle starts normal again. The vehicle happened from 2009 to current time, but the odb scan does not detect any code or errors.
Front end vibration, contacted Ford they advised not their problem, even though Ford service bulletin 050502 states differently NHTSA 10017890. Ford has failed to contact me again. And the vibration is getting worse. I have complained since day one of owner ship, Ford continues to push me off.
Loss of brakes while driving our f150 in March. Almost hit a car in front of us - had to pull onto side of road into grass to stop the vehicle. Local auto shop fixed the problem-"main vacuum feed off on back of manifold".
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 10 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but it would not move. As a result, the vehicle would not stop and ran a red light. The parking brake was applied and the vehicle finally stopped. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they stated that the vacuum hose detached from the manifold. The hose tubing was replaced. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 36,900.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 10-15 mph, the brake pedal felt very stiff when it was depressed. The contact had to depress the brake pedal with excessive pressure in order to stop the vehicle. When the vehicle finally came to a stop, it was in the middle of an intersection. The vehicle was pushed back to the driveway. There were no warning indicators and the road conditions were dry. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer. The current and failure mileages were 49,173.
I was involved in an injury crash. I hit the brakes and there was no stopping the truck. I didn't get the truck stopped until about 100-150 feet past the crash scene. There were no skid marks at all.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the brake pedal was to close to the gas pedal. The contact approached a red light, engaged the brake pedal and accelerator pedal simultaneously. The vehicle lunged forward just enough to hit the vehicle in front of him at 10 mph. The current and failure mileages were 50,000. Updated 11/16/10.
Constant ticking noise from engine, sounds like a diesel engine, remains ticking the entire time. / when applying brakes either on a hard stop or rolling over traction in road, grinding feeling in pedal and noise and will not stop immediately. -----was told by dealership that the "ticking" was typical for Ford and the brakes was part of the antilock system, I do not think so.
: the contact stated after releasing the emergency brakes from the vehicle in preperation to drive, the emergency brakes would stick in place. This caused the vehicle to travel with the emergnecy brakes appied generating pressure toward the tires which caused them to run hot and burn. The burning released a burning tire odor. The dealers determined there would be a charge for any service even though vehicle was under warranty. No repairs were done.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford f150. The contact noticed that his brake pedal was soft and spongy, making it difficult to brake. The brake pedal would extend to the floor when it was depressed. The dealer and manufacturer stated that the vehicle was supposed to function in that manner. The dealer worked on the vehicle several times, but failed to correct the failure. A Ford representative drove the vehicle, acknowledged the failure, and ordered parts for the repair. However, the failure still persists. The current mileage was approximately 25,000 and failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
