The contact owns a 2005 Ford f150. While driving approximately 45-50 mph, and attempting to drive around a curve the vehicle continued going straight and crashed into tree branches and mailboxes. The crash caused the vehicle's tie rod to brake. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop. The repair shop replaced the fender, fender emblem, windshield, sun roof glass, bug guard, left hand grill, upper bumper cover. Bumper bracket, fog lamp, two tailgate scrapes. A tire, 1 strut, one sway bar and link, one lisph bracket, one fender mold, 1 mud flap, one lc knuckle, and one lower control arm. A police report was filed. The contact stated no one was injured. The approximate failure mileage 86,000 and the current mileage was 90,061.

The contact took his vehicle to have it repaired for NHTSA campaign id number 08v208000 (service brakes, hydraulic:power assist:vacuum:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings). After the repair, the technician informed him that he needed to have the tie rods replaced at the cost of $288. The contact has not had the tie rods replaced.
