1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2022

When is be driving it , it would always shilf down to low and then the reverse went out.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2022

The door latch on the back suicide opening doors on my f150 stopped working. We had a passenger in the back seat but when they tried to get out the door would not open. The latch had stopped working. Though they were able to get out through the other side, this is a very dangerous situation. Where we in an accident with the possibility of fire or the door would not open for the fire and rescue squad it could have been life threatening. Soon after this incident the other side did the same thing. Now both door latches do not work. How much worse would that have been if an accident would have happened and both doors stopped working. I cannot find a better example of poor safety design and safety threat than this situation. From what I can find there is no recall for the door latch failure on the Ford trucks with the suicide doors on the Ford cabs. The truck is still in this state because we cannot afford to get it fixed and yes it is available for inspection. I described above just how the safety of my passengers were put at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no, but the problem is well known, all you have to do is search the internet for this door lock failure were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no, the failure happened all of a sudden and without warning. The same failure happened a few weeks later on the opposite side door latch with the same problem. If I would have had a passenger in the back at that time and gotten in an accident this could have been a life threatening situation. There would have been no way for the person of persons to get out of the back seat due to neither door opening.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2021

Main truck frame is rusting through-presently the left frame rail just behind the left door is failing. The overall condition of truck is good, no body panel rust through(s)-note that I live in northern michigan. At this point I wouldn't lift with a floor hoist or heavy load the box with materials. A check of the web shows many of the same complaints. . . . . . . . 2006 Ford f150, I can provide pics if need or you can actually inspect.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2020

My 2006 f150 Ford lariat. It started with the front map light are some light not sure what it's called. It would come on by itself just sitting still with engine off. And no one in the truck. It would do this all hours of day and night. Then the door jar light came on going down the hwy. And would not go off. We stop to check all does and they all was shut. It stays on and want go off. Then with all that going on all my power windows stop working. They was working fine but when the dime light problem. And the door a jar light on when you get in the truck and turn key on. I have talk to people that own a Ford and most all Ford's have had this problem. I also have googled these problems and a lot of people have had the same problems. But it hasn't been any recall on these problems. It really needs to be a recall for these problems on Ford's. It's a electrical problem.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2020

The frame is rusted through.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2019

Main frame rails rusted throughout. My state doesn't check frames for this during normal state inspections. This truck passed inspection. Only 78,000 miles. Why isn't a recall issued for this problem?.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2019

My truck is making a chain slapping noise only when I first start it after it sits for several hrs. It sounds like their is slack in the timing chain. I know that the chain tensioners fail on this model. Please help as I love my truck and I don't wanna loose it. Because it only happens when I start the vehicle and then immediately goes away, it was stationary when it started the noise. I'm just afraid that if it keeps on slapping, it will damage the plastic runners and possibly have a chain come off while it's in motion.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2019

I was pulling in my driveway I back out to back in back in to unload my fourwheeler an the truck wouldn't move, I tapped the fuel a couple times an sound like the transmission went out, I just bought the truck in February.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2018

Takata recall. For three years of electrical issues, beeping electrical dash panel and lights in truck hardly ever work. The trucks dependability at moment isn't great due to these issues. Can't afford a new truck at time being . . This truck transports my toddlers around. This typically happens when turning on car and opening doors we never see lights on. It does happen also when driving at random times. Not sure if it has anything to do with stopping or turning. Will happen at any rate of speed.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2017

The frame is rusted to the point that I've had to have a shop weld steel sections around the frame. Bought the truck and kept miles off of it because I planned to retire and keep the truck for quite sometime retired now for a year and I'm being told I'll have to junk the truck in a year or so. I have a truck with low miles and can't use it. Thanks Ford motor company!!!!.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2015

Last week truck suddenly became very hard to turn going around corners. Steering wheel locked up and I almost went over an embankment. Hit or miss so I never know when it will go out. Thankfully did not have my 2 young children! a week later (11/29/15), truck suddenly starts to violently shake if I go over 50 mph! scared the dickens out of me! hoping to limp it to a dealership and trade it in. Not safe for me to drive. I have put 20k miles on it in 2 years and has been regularly serviced. What gives?!?.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2014

My truck was not involved in an accident. I have 74,000 miles on my truck and the transmission is starting to slip. With this low mileage this should not be happening.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2014

I brought my truck in to my local Ford dealer because the check engine light came on. It is a 2006 f150 4. 6l - after his inspection, the mechanic stated that the bottom of the #2 spark plug (manufacture installed) had disintegrated and fell into the head causing so much damage to the #2 cylinder that I have to replace the entire engine at a cost of over $6,000 plus tax. It will take over a week to fix and I do not have another vehicle. I would like Ford to reimburse me for the expense. I have written to their "customer care" ( cas-3961775-r2m8s5 and cas-3961841-h9x7t2) department, but have had no helpful or satisfactory results. This is a known issue as Ford has issued a TSB and developed a tool to assist with the removal of faulty spark plugs.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2013

Went to back up and no reverse.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2013

Ford has an ongoing problem with the 2006-2008 f150. They have faulty sparkplug that when they need changedirections snap. This results in them having to retap the motor and put different spark plugs in which they charge $400/spark plug that snaps. The part that snaps falls into the motor that's which it is so expensive. Ford has known about the problem for years because they made sure to get new spark plugs as soon as there were issues. Numerous people including myself have called Ford and complained but they never do anything about it. I hope that you will.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2013

The right exhaust manifold studs had broken approximately 5/5/2012, in which they did not tell me the full extent of the damages. They just told me the manifold was leaking and the cost to repair it. This caused the manifold to warp and leak. The dealer would not repair it under the extended warranty. Approximately one year later I called the warranty company and found out it was actually covered. When I had taken it in, in may 2012 the dealer wanted to charge 1500. 00 for the repairs. The repairs were finally made in may of 2013 to the exhaust manifold, but not to the catalytic. Converter which started causing problems in January of this year. This leak may have caused the right catalytic converter to fail also, but have found many forums stating that failure of the catalytic converters are a common problem on these pick ups. At this time I am driving the pick up and it throws the code p0420, for catalytic converter below efficiency threshold. This problem should also be forwarded to the e. P. A. Because people cannot afford to replace their catalytic converters at the price of 1200. 00 per side. If this is a common problem with Ford F-150's this needs addressed. Also the failure of the exhaust manifold is a safety hazard that could cause the occupants in the cabin to be exposed to carbon monoxide. The leaking manifold also confuses the computer by telling it that the of bank cylinders is running to lean in response to those readings it then adds fuel to that bank which causes it to run richer on that bank than it should. I believe that this caused damage to the catalytic converter making it fail prematurely.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2011

Purchased a Ford 2006 f150 lariat harley davidson edition from a used car dealership took vehicle out for a test drive and noticed that it had a missfire, dealership promised to repair a coil which they believed was the issue I was sent to a repair facility which the dealership has all their vehicles serviced. After diagnosing the issue was told that three coils were bad and three spark plugs were broken off in the cylinder head which had to be removed to clen out and resurfaced along with the valves and pistons at a cost of $1,800. 00 which my purchased warranty would not cover or the dealership would not cover either, so after reading numerous complaints on this issue listed on several complaint forums was wondering wheather this organization has taken up the issue with Ford?.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2011

2006 Ford f150 with 39,000 miles acting funny. Took it to garage and was catalytic converter. Stated they wouldn't cover it because I drove to garage.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2011

What a shocker, I go to the Ford dealer for the 100k tune up for my F-150 king ranch original cost $450. Almost two weeks later, truck still isn't finished cost is at $3, 500 still can go. They don't know yet until their finished putting everything back together. 7 of the 8 plugs broke, two would not come out. Finally, they got one of the two out. The one is seized up pretty good. The had to take the head off and waiting on the outcome. I'm up in arms on what to do. I don't have an extra $3, 000 laying around to pay for this plus the price can still go up. How can they not tell you this up front and keep padding the price and not knowing what its going to cost until you pick your vehicle up. Please contact me, I would like to file a suit against Ford but need assistance. I talked to someone from Fords front office about this issue. They are well aware of this matter. All they say is that its not under warranty and my vehicle is over the 100k max. Come to find out, no matter what warranty you have, this particular issue has no warranty to begin with. All they would do is offer me the "x plan" on a new vehicle. Now, why would I want to buy a new vehicle. I've been raised on Ford vehicles my entire life. I must say this will be my last Ford truck for sure. A friend of mine has a Toyota truck and has over 200k miles. Never has had a issue with anything. Please advise on what to do, this needs to stop and Ford needs to do something about this. But I have a feeling they won't or they would of done it already.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2006

Purchased a Ford 2006 F-150 4x4 so I could use it off road and through snow when necessary. Tried to have chains put on it as chp requires and was told this vehicle will not take chains due to the configuration of the brake lines. Was not told this up front when I purchased vehicle. Why buy a 4x4 if you can't use it in inclement weather? Ford does not seem to have a resolution for this problem.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/05/1978

The rear of the frame has nearly completely broken through both sides of the frame causing the bed of the vehicle to contact the rear cab of the vehicle. Both sides are completely rusted through causing a safety concern as the rear of the vehicle could completely separate from the front end. I started noticing a tapping sound coming from the back end of the vehicle on Feb 5, 2020, which was about a week ago. After researching the noise I noticed that the top of the bed was touching the cab while the bottom of the bed was about 4-5 inches from the cab. After inspecting the frame of the truck at the rear, I saw that the frame was nearly completely rusted through on both sides.
