1 Tank Mounting problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2008

The engine stalled and a mechanic later determined that a substantial amount of water was found in the gas tank. Prior to the stall the truck had been kept in a location where it would be impossible for someone to put water into the tank. When I explained this to the Ford dealership mechanic, he indicated that he personally had seen other cases where water had mysteriously appeared in a Ford f150 gas tank which appeared to be attributable to the fact that rain water landing inside the trucks box drips through the seams and rivets of the box directly onto the fuel pump passing into the gas tank when it remains parked for a substantial period of time. When I googled "water in the fuel tank", I find that the first item to come up is Ford f150 owners describing the inexplicable discovery of substantial amounts of water in their gas tank! (please try googling this yourself. ).
