Transmission and rear end jerking when putting in or taking out of park, reverse or drive and now doesn't want to go forward when putting it in drive and I can't get it to shift out and transmission fault light came on and I re set it by taking black cable off battery and put transmission fluid in it and it still does it and also headlights doesn't work on bright and power steering pump makes noise and it's full of fluid I don't know if it is leaking or what small stuff I can deal with but major transmission and engine stuff on truck I can't.
Started to drive my vehicle but it is stuck in park.
I went to have my brakes replaced on my F-150 with 54,000 miles on the odometer and the mechanic told me the frame was completely rusted out and that he was able to put a screwdriver through it. He didn't want to install the brakes. I have owned this truck since new and it has (mostly) been garaged throughout. The body panels, interior , transmission, engine, etc. Are in excellent shape. It appears to be the same problem reported by many others, so I'm not sure why there hasn't been a Ford recall on this dangerous situation. It's obviously been going on for some time, but I never looked under the truck to see the extent of the rust, given that the body was in great shape (no rust).
This is an update to my post of 8/14/19, concerning frame rust on my 2007 f150. The truck has now been inspected by a competent body shop with the box taken off. There is more rust on the frame than on the titanic, no hope of fixing it. So far Ford doesn't want to know anything. Someone is going to be killed if this isn't addressed. There are a lot of these trucks out there with a seriously unexpected level of rust. Looking for options!!.
Rear driver side door rattles as if not completely shut when driving. Sun/moon roof not opening.
While driving & applying brakes, truck revs up does a burn out!!!! happened Feb 14th 2018 & again March 1 2018. Took to mechanic. . . . There is no vacuum leak & no codes appeared.
Takata recall inflators have been removed. Instrument panel displays tire inflation warning always. The main safety issue I see with this vehicle is the brake and accelerator pedals are to close to each other and are not adjustable. The issue comes about when depressing brake to shift from park to drive or reverse. I am aware of this and it still happens sometimes. Sometimes the motor revs but vehicle will stay stationary. Sometimes there's more pressure on accelerator than brake pedal and the vehicle will lurch forward or backward. This being an xl model, its not equipped with adjustable pedals which may solve problem but am uncertain of that. It seems to be ideal vehicle except for these to issues.
The fram is eat up on my truck and Ford wont fix it at alli call and they keep giving me the run around I think that the truck will break into and cause a serious wreck because of it.
The driveshaft wielded part to the truck broke off.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after grabbing the safety handle on the driver's side door the part detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the handle had detached and it needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. Kh.
Accelerates without notice when braking shifting etc. Very dangerous and frustratring.
Shifter won't come out of parking. I have researched and many people have reported the same issue with Ford f150. Service manager said shifter sensor was not working.
The failures stem from bad oil flow to the top end of the engine due to a flaw in design. Specifically my camshaft, cam phaser, timing components and lifters rollers have failed. The problem first showed up at 42256 miles and has since resurfaced twice even after expensive repairs. The worrisome part is that the web is filled with thousands upon thousands of similar complaints about this engine which is also in expeditions and crown victorias and probably other Ford vehicles.
My exhaust manifold started leaking around 70000 miles. It is to the point now that I can't even drive my truck. I bought it used and it started about 2 years after I bought it.
This truck was never driven much and driven 24 miles round trip a day. Dont understand why something so major could happen without warning. Will never buy a Ford. The truck dont stand up to preformance.
As I excellerate and hit the passing gear the truck spits and sputters. If I back off it runs fine.
While driving at 35mph or less the driver side front hub assembly may emit an intermitent grinding noise as if the hub is trying to lock into four wheel drive. Grinding noise stops when vehicle is slowed to 15mph or less. Sometimes full stop is needed to cease grinding noise. When noise stop a jerk can be felt as if the hub locks back into its place. Took vehicle to Ford dealership and they recommended bringing vehicle in when grinding noise was present. That is not possible because the noise will stop when I slow down. Dealership could not recommend any way to diagnose it without paying to have it inspected. Problem has not been diagnosed and manufacturer has not been notified. Vehicle was bought 3 years ago at 43k miles and has approx. 80k current miles. Noise is intermittent with occaisional long periods between occurences. Can happen within 5 miles of driving or after 500 miles of driving.
