1 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2016

Accelerator pedal sticks, there is no rhyme or reason for this problem. This has happened on a few different occasions at different driving speeds. Last time this happened my two children were in the truck as the truck accelerated toward stopped traffic. Thankfully the accelerator let loose before we crashed into other vehicles.

2 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2014

Approaching an yellow light at approximately 35 mph I hit the gas pedal hard for passing gear. The accelerator stuck, the engine roaring, I had to step as hard as possible to stop the truck so I would not hit the vehicle in front of me. Engine would not stop accelerating forcing me to turn off the truck. Shocked, I sat in traffic for a moment before I restarted the engine, but it immediately went to full speed again, forcing me to again turn off the engine. My friend climbed out and pushed me out of traffic. After sitting in a parking lot for about 5 minutes I again started the engine and it started normally.

3 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2014

Accelerating on interstate on ramp to merge into traffic. Accelerator stuck and vehicle speed increased. Had to heavily apply brakes to stop, put in neutral, engine continued to rev, shut truck off. About a minute after stopping, a loud pop was heard in cab (accelerator unsticking??). Turned truck on, normal acceleration followed. This was the first and only occurrence.

4 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2012

I was making a left turn and my gas pedal got stuck / accelerated and I stepped on the brakes numerous times and I couldn't stop the vehicle. Very dangerous and freaked me out. I couldn't stop the truck and accelerated to over 50 miles per hour until it finally slowed down on its own after collision. I suffered damage to my front end and my rim/ tires. I hit a pole to avoid hitting another vehicle. I hope a recall is called. I am just happy no one was seriously injured.

5 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2012

The contact owns a 2009 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the floor mat was defective. The accelerator pedal stuck to the floor mat while driving at 45 mph. As a result, the vehicle accelerated out of control. The contact was able to avoid a crash and maneuvered the vehicle to the shoulder. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the floor mat was not replaced. The failure and current mileages were 48,000.

6 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2009

We drove a rental 2009 Ford f 150 from enterprise rental in boise, id (12-28-09 to 12-31-09)for a couple of days. On the 4th day, we had the accelerator stick several times. It would not stop at intersections, and we thought it was just icy roads (even though the roads only looked wet!) once was at an intersection where the cross traffic was going 50 mph and we almost got hit! later, the truck acted up when we tried to stop in a line of traffic at a stoplight. It was accelerating so fast, we put it in park and shut if off to avoid crashing into cars ahead of us. The rental company brought us another car. We told them about the problem (which disappeared when they drove the truck away). I'm afraid that they'll rent it out again to someone else thinking that the problem was us, and not the truck!.

7 Accelerator Stuck problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2009

While accelerating on a ramp to merge into traffic the truck accelerator pedal got stuck causing the truck to gain speed rapidly. The truck went from approx 25 to 87mph. I was unable to get the pedal un-stuck. The brakes and emergency brake had little effect, I narrowly missed hitting another vehicle and was unable to get the truck to slow down for a few miles. I eventually was able to slow it to 30mph and put the truck in park and turn off the engine to make it stop completely. It has occurred once (and that is enough). I had the truck towed to a Ford dealer and was later advised they could not replicate the problem so I could come pick the truck up. Nothing has been fixed.

8 Accelerator Stuck problem
