1 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2023

Foil finish peeling off of interior chrome door handle. Very very sharp edges. Cut finger.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2021

My passenger side rear door is stuck closed. I have tried to open it from inside and outside and made sure it was not locked. I have removed the door panel inside as much as I could to try and pull the cable for the latch. Even pulling the cable to the lock actuator does not disengage the door latch. When I did this I noticed that the door handle spring had broken through the plastic that holds it in place. I tried to research this problem online and I noticed there was a recall for this exact issue. When I contacted Ford customer service they told me that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that it was VIN specific. I don't understand how there can be a safety issue warranting a recall, my vehicle has the same problems as those included in the recall yet mine is not covered. I asked why that would be and the csr only answered with his scripted response of this is a VIN specific recall. Despite this, I ordered a new door handle and waited for it to arrive hopefully thinking that it would solve the problem, however once the new handle was installed, the door still will not open.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

Seatbelt chime/ alarm is defective. See all youtube videos showing so. Seatbelt light and chime continuously stay on and chime alarm continuously rings even while seatbelts are on & locked in position. This is very distracting and a dangerous situation for drivers attempting to make it go off/ work correctly while driving. This seatbelt chime is defective is both when driving / in motion and stationary. Body/windshield area structural defect- there is a hole/opening that allows rain/ water to leak into interior of truck, leaking water inside truck interior from upper build seam, through the grab handle located at side of windshield in front of front passenger, then liquid drips down onto carpeted floorboard. This body structure defective opening/ hole is located somewhere between upper windshield seam and the interior front passenger grab handle at windshield frame. Water drips through this handle. This windshield leak defect occurs when the truck is in motion and when stationary. Electrical/ignition switch- turning on track with ignition key, ignition switch does not always perform correctly. It often disallows the ac, the windshield wipers, and backup camera to work, while everything else is working. Because everything else may be working, the driver may not notice that the ignition switch has been turned on incorrectly. This defect, especially the back up camera not working, and windshield wipers, is dangerous. The switch should be made to consistently work at all times the same way. This defect is noticed when stationary, but often when it's too late and in motion.

There is already a recall on these vehicles for the door handle. The recall number is 11s15. The interior door handle breaks under normal use and does not spring back into position. This can cause a problem in an accident. The dealer and Ford say my VIN is not in the recall, but my truck is the same year. My truck was stationary. The rear door handle broke where my son sits in the back.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2020

The day I went to purchase this vehicle the dealership told me then there was an electrical problem that has caused the radio not to work. That they will fix it next day. I basically got the run around had there mechanic look at it he could not figure out what was wrong. I informed them that there is more then just the radio the air bag system does not work or show that it works. Also pointed out that chunks of metal was falling from the bottom of this every time I shut the door. Still nothing has been done. They used rustoleum bed liner to cover every inch under the truck. It is literally falling to pieces. 3 weeks go by after sending numerous emails on update when this will get fix and they tell me that they will not fix it because the CO signer left a bad review. I have no working air bags. And I'm paying 15 thousand for this truck.

Failure Date: 08/26/2019

My passenger side interior door handle has just fractured, exactly as described in your NHTSA campaign id # 11v0490000. This was a recall of approximately 300,000 2009 and 2010 f 150's. When I enter my VIN on your site it does not come up, however I understand this is a potentially dangerous condition. Perhaps my production date falls outside of the recall dates, however my truck has the exact same safety issue, and only has 18,000 miles on it. Could you please advise me how to proceed, as I would like to have this corrected by a Ford dealer as soon as possible. Thank you.

2010 Ford F-150, 2 of my doors cannot be opened due to a defect of components in the handles. Ford does have a recall affecting the the same situation as mine, but according to my VIN# my vehicle is not included. This could be a deadly situation if needing to exit the vehicle through those doors. I will attach a copy of the recall and of my door handles.

18 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2018

The front passenger side interior door handle broke, preventing the passenger from being able to open the door. In an emergency, the passenger would be unable to exit the vehicle without someone opening the door from the outside. I rarely have passengers, other than my preschool-aged son, who rides in his child seat in the rear passenger side seat. There is a recall for interior door handles for my vehicle's model year, but not for my VIN for some reason. Perhaps the recall should be expanded. The failure was noticed when a passenger was trying to exit the vehicle in a parking lot.

19 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2018

Severe rust on rocker panels, doors and body frame on both sides of the truck.

20 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2018

The bumpers and metal under the doors are rotting out , the vehicle is only 8 years old. This should be recalled ,lots of people on internet are having the same problem.

21 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2018

The rocker panels are rusted badly. The rocker panel keeps the doors closed. When the rust gets to the point where the latch is the doors will not stay closed. It has not happened yet but it appears this will happen in the near future. With the rust this bad I am very concerned if there would ever be a side impact to the vehicle. I first noticed the rust in the late fall of 2017.

22 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2018

Truck was brought in for minor rust on inside panels of back doors, where the door closes. Body shop stated that maybe the drain channel was blocked. Upon picking the truck up after repair I was told that the rocker panels on both sides were so rusted out they were beyond repair. They stated it looks like the truck sat in water for a period of time, I bought the truck new from a dealer in amelia OH 43011 I am the original owner. I have looked on the web and it seems this is common on Ford trucks. I will cost me 4900$ to repair; the truck looks brand new and I have kept it in very, very good condition. I have contacted Ford but they will not help, they stated no recall or warranty issues have been reported at this time. Why haven't their engineers corrected this problem?.

23 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2018

Recently discovered major damage due to rust and rot of cab pinch weld at rocker panels on both right and left sides extending front to back. 2010, Ford F-150, crew cab, 51,000 original miles. My complaint was formally addressed at the local dealership where purchased. They noted (vehicle is very clean. . . . . . ). My concerns were forwarded to corporate with response being out of five year warranty. Having found myself in a dilemma I had an auto body technician view the damage and his advice was to trade the vehicle. The extensive damage is not the result of normal wear and tear. This doesn't take a body technician to recognize this problem is due to inferior product of poor workmanship.

24 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2018

26 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2017

On the crew cab the back passenger door will not open from either inside or outside of the truck very unsafe if you have passengers in the back seat.

27 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2017

I have noticed of f150 forums that from 09 to 2013 on the crew cab the passenger rear door will not open from the inside or the truck or the outside of the truck with I would think is a big safety concern.

28 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2017

The inside passenger door handle broke leaving the door unable to open from the inside. Ford states that it is not covered under the warranty. I said it is an absolute safety hazard as the passenger is unable to exit the vehicle in an emergency and any repair should be covered under the manufacturer warranty.

29 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2017

With the rear defrost on the back glass exploded while driving.

30 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2017

On January 7, 2017, the temperature outside in the evening was around 10 degrees fahrenheit. I got into my 2010 Ford f150m, started it allowing the engine to warm then began driving. The snow was falling and therefore my rear window had a light amount of snow on it and was hard to see out of. I turned on my rear defrost for my power sliding window, and approximately two minutes later I heard a loud noise. I noticed a few minutes later my left rear window panel was not defrosting. I parked my vehicle overnight in my garage and in the morning realized the left rear window panel had broken. Upon looking at it further I found that there was no impact from any object, and the glass fragments were being held together by the tint. I began researching for a price to get my window fixed and discovered hundreds of complaints about the window exploding when using the defrost. There had been no damage to the window prior to this evening and there was no impact to the window when it occurred. The window defroster was being operated as I have in multiple vehicles. After researching this, I found it was a very common issue. On 1/11/17, I contacted Ford motor company and filed a complaint and was told to being my vehicle into a Ford service facility for potential goodwill assistance. I was told by the Ford motor company representative that had had heard of this glass breakage before however Ford has no recalls on my vehicle for this repair. On 1/11/17, at the Ford service facility the vehicle was looked at, told that the replacement would be around $1000 and they would contact Ford. On 1/12/17, the service facility indicated the Ford regional representative was contacted and no assistance will be provided. I again contact the Ford, but was told the regional representative made the decision and nothing more would be done. On 1/13/17, I paid $585 to have the glass repaired.

31 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2016

The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the wheel wells and panels were abnormally hanging underneath the vehicle. The contact noticed that the areas where the components were located were severely corroded. The vehicle was taken to chatham Ford (781 main st, shatham, MA, 02633) where it was confirmed that the vehicle experienced severe corrosion. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 71,757.

32 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2016

Leaking water at vehicle's rear driver's side and passenger corners. Leaking water from passenger's side handle. While vehicle was parked on private driveway during multiple rain storms, it was found multiple times the truck cab was leaking profuse amounts of water from the rear cab corners and front passenger side handle. When researching this discrepancy, it has been found this very problem has been reported multiple times across the country. It's stated the leak is more often than not from the truck's 3rd brake light, and the passenger side handle leak is from a leaking satellite antennae. This hazardous condition can lead to mold, rot and rust issues with the truck, as well as potentially short out electrical due to water running down the vehicle's interior frame and collecting on the vehicle's floorboard and electrical channel areas. Due to the amount of complainants regarding this discrepancy, a recall should be sought and issued to fix the discrepancies.

33 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

The interior driver's door handle will not go back into position after opening thus causing the door to fling open if driver does not push the handle back into position. The vehicle was stationary yesterday when I noticed the handle did not go back. Then yesterday leaving the parking lot, making a right turn my door flung open because I didn't ensure the handle was stowed. There is a recall for this item under Ford #11s15 but the VIN does not pull up this recall. Please contact me if you need pics because the truck is at the dealership right now where they told me it does not fall under this recall when clearly it is the exact same safety issue.

34 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2016

The inside passenger side door handle is stuck in the open position. Passengers are forced to push the handle back into the closed position when riding. This problem is in fact listed as a recall item for the same make, model, and year of my vehicle. I contacted Ford and was informed that my vehicle VIN number/ factory was not included. According to the recall(NHTSA campaign #:11v049000), this defect could cause the door to fly open in an accident. Although Ford does not acknowledge this problem exist with my vehicle in particular or perhaps the plant where it was manufactured; this does not change the reality that it happened. I was instructed to take it to a Ford dealership and have the repairs done at my own cost. My vehicle was stationary when a passenger opened the door; only to find that the handle would not go back to closed position.
