I was driving in the morning car was started to lag on accelerating and shifting gears slightly. My dashboard and gps system flickered on and off when this happened. The truck putted as well. On my way home the car had trouble accelerating and dropped from 5th gear all the way to first causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle. It continued hard shifting and loss all acceleration. It continued flickering everytime it would sputter and slip gears, gps and dashboard would flicker. They gears were going haywire. I could not accelerate with the pedal all the way to the floor, and was hard to turn steering wheel. Almost like the truck was coasting. When we took it to the mechanic they stated it was a transmission range switch which is an issue and many f150's of my year, make and model. My vehicle was not listed as a recalled vehicle yet has the same issue as the other recalled ones. Total repairs are going to cost around $2000. I have not driven my vehicle since the incident and I am frightened after almost losing control from the hard shifting. Prior to this the vehicle ran great. It was an out of nowhere issue. The truck has been maintained well, with all oil changes, and regular maintenece. There is less the 96,000 mile son the truck as well.
I have a wrench ?? showing up in the screen, the gears downshift, the gears shift from 3 to 6.
The back window in my truck shattered right as I was exiting it in the garage. After it happened I read online that this is a very widespread issue with these trucks. My rear defroster was turned on. I haven’t replaced the window yet. Please make Ford do a recall for this. It’s happening to way too many trucks solely because of poor design. People shouldn’t have to foot the high cost of replacement. Thank you.
The truck randomly caught fire. There is 100’s of not 1000’s of reports of the 3. 5 eco boost trucks catching fire with no explanation. Now I’m being treated like a criminal and have lost my mint condition truck.
Mechanical brake booster pump failure. Has been inspected by Ford dealerships twice and also with a third party certified mechanic. The vehicle has a tough time stopping upon ignition and brake has to be pumped hard. Ford claims 2021 was the last service date on this but still there a reserve records that show that its not resolved but no recall is out for this. . Read more...
Manufacturer recall number19s07 NHTSA recall number19v075 recall statusrecall incomplete. I purchased this vehicle today. The recall has not been completed. Transmission seem to drop in and out of lower gear at take off from a stop or very low speed.
Fuse 27 is a safety issue when it fails on the road in traffic. So, you want to wait till someone dies. Do the right thing and force Ford to issue safety recall. 1 death is to much. No issue with my truck as of now. I don't want issues with this ongoing problem.
I am getting a p0299 code truck and according to research, this is something to do with the turbo. It is causing my truck to lose power while driving. I have had it parked since then.
It was a really cold night. My niece got in my truck in the passenger side back door. When we got to the grocery store 10 minutes later, that door refused to open. When I hit the lock/unlock button, it didn't even sound like it engaged at all in that door panel. The manual lock could neither be pushed down or pulled up. As soon as it got warm out again, the door opened and the locking mechanism worked just fine.
Driving down residential street about 100 yards from my driveway and power steering completely failed. Dashboard message says steering assist fault. Luckily school hadn't let out yet so there weren't any kids running around. I was able to get the truck in my drive safely. I am having it towed to certified repair garage. Safety first. I've learned that this is a fairly common issue and that it can happen at highway speeds. Not cool Ford. Do better.
Exhaust manifolds leak and broken studs.
I was driving about 8-0 mph when I heard a loud bang! thought someone had crash my truck but only to find out my rear window shattered! doing my research I found out it was from the rear defrost malfunction that cause it! on top of that o read over 100 complaints on the same thing!! I also been having problems with my truck since I got it! landers south I’m southaven ms on goodman rd! they have had my truck more then a then five times since I purchased the truck and I was told it was a good truck and have been fully inspected!!! which later I found out it was only had a safety check which also was false! please help!!!.
Vehicle speedometer stopped working, the total mileage indicator read all dashes “- - - - - -“ and the transmission was shifting to the wrong gear. For example from a stop the truck would immediately be in fifth gear. The yellow wrench indicator came on briefly and then went away. I turned the truck off then on again and the problem went away and I made it home. Today I took the car to get the safety recall completed, and on my way home the car speedometer stopped working again and I was not able to accelerate while I was making a left turn. This left me stranded in the middle of the intersection and I had to restart the car and the problem went away. I asked the dealer if they would look into the lead frame extended warranty and they would not honor the coverage because I am at 155,000 miles and the coverage ends at 150,000 miles and because it is a 10 year coverage but my car was manufactured 10 years and 3 months ago. The recall did not fix my issue and the vehicle is not safe to drive. The issue is however intermittent and I am a college student who must commute 1hour away to attend the university. I don’t feel safe driving the vehicle, there was one point when the car down shifted rapidly and caused my car to jerk to a stop. I was only going 15 miles per hour so it was not too dangerous. Please help. The recall software update is all they were willing to help me with. Although the problem still persists.
My vehicle has had (3) random occurances of the transmission shifting into a high gear and basically leaving my truck unresponsive when I am in traffic. For example, on the most recent occurrence, which occurred on 8/31/2021, I pulled out onto a street and my truck would not accelerate whatsoever, leaving me in a very dangerous situation as traffic was coming both ways on the street and I had no power. The vehicle did not display any check engine lights, the speedometer stopped working, and the mileage on the odometer disappeared. After stopping the vehicle, turning the key to the off position, and restarting the vehicle, the problem goes away as the gauges on the dash begin working again and the truck shifts and has power as normally would be expected. I called my Ford dealership about this safety problem as well as Ford customer service and was told my vehicle is one month outside of an extended warranty program provided by Ford , Ford satisfaction program 19n01. I don't understand how this issue is not a safety recall as the issue causes the truck to totally lose power, and not dash lights or warnings are displayed to let the driver know there is a problem. If the lose of power and transmission miss-shifting occurs on a highway it could cause a deadly situation to take place. The problem has not been able to be reproduced repeatedly by myself and is not confirmed by an independent service center. The transmission and gauge issue is totally random and seems to go away after the vehicle is restarted with the key. I do have a video on my phone showing the speedometer not reading, the odometer going to dashes. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance reps or others. I feel like Ford needs to issue a 100% safety recall for this issue and not try to disguise the issue with an earlier recall which modified the vehicles software. People's lives are at danger with this transmission issue.
While in a parking lot I started the engine and put it in gear with my foot on the brake. After a moment or 2 the rpm came up and the tires were squealing. I then shifted to neutral and the rpm slowed. I then shifted to drive and drove to an exit. While waiting for a break in traffic with my foot on the brake the same thing happened. The rpm came up and the rear tires were trying to spin. I shifted to neutral until I could move, and shifted to drive and joined the traffic. There was no problems with speed control while driving in traffic.
My transmission is downshifting on its on when driving home without changing gears. I have to shut it off and wait before I can drive it again. I was in the flow of traffic when this happens and it is very scary. And it continues so I'm unable to drive it because it's to dangerous.
Driving home I started to hear and feel this noise on my engine like a clicking/grounting sound. I could hear it more when making turnes and when slowing down. Next day I got on my truck and when in reverse my truck would't let me because it looks like the front tires are locked. And can only go forward. The transmission does not go in reverse, transmission shift lever sequence starter interlock, and transmission braking effect. Transmission range sensor (trs) that was calibrated out of specification for reverse gear.
Had a recall on my 2011 f150 . I took it and got it fix for the 12c23 a/t range sensor and its still doing that same things , it goes into reverse but want immediate on the dash of my f150 and this condition increases the rick of a crash or someone being hit because the truck isn't signaling it's in reverse . So the time I took my truck in to get this problem fixed it didn't fix the issue and when I get in reverse and back out , I have to put truck in park and cut to rest it because if not the truck will not shift gears . I took it back to Ford and was going to charge me 2800. 00 for lead frame and cpm.
Turned on rear window defrost and passenger side glass of 3 piece rear window exploded. Not moving at 545 in the morning and nobody around.
Loud grinding noise from the flywheel/starter. Flywheel is bad already on a 2011 f150.
We were driving down the highway at 10:30pm going 55mph. All of a sudden, we heard a very loud bang that almost caused me to run off the road, thankfully I didnt. I pulled over to investigate and there was nothing wrong until I looked at the back glass. The back glass on the passenger side was completely shattered. Out of no where. Mind you, there was nothing wrong with this prior. I haven't even had this truck for thirty days yet and this happened. I was especially worried because my 4year old daughter was in the back seat, on the passenger side. She could have been seriously injured due to this.
While driving down the road the vehicle abruptly down shifts , dash board goes blank, wrench light pops up and speedometer zeros out. Forcing you to stop.
On repeat occasions my truck speedometer will stop working, my odometer will read zero and my vehicle will not allow me to increase speed despite stepping on the gas. In order to resolve the issue I have had to turn the truck off and on again.
I was driving on the highway I 95 and it was raining. My windows started to fog up. I turned on the defrosts. I heard a loud pop and my rear window shattered. In researching the problem on the internet, it appears it is a common problem on 10-14 f150's when turning on the rear defrost.
Unexpected transmission downshift to a 1st gear regardless of vehicle speed.
The advancetrac system pops up and will either slow the truck down or shut it right off. . I had a mechanic look at it and it still continued to do it. . . I have to shut it all down and try to restart it will sometimes drive for a short time or go for days. This has been going on for over a year where it will also go months without happening.
While driving my truck it jumps or throws gear down very load like if it was going to stop in the free way and it's doing it everyday.
Truck locked up on me on the highway doing 70+ mph & caused me to spin out & wreck. It's a recall for that issue that Ford will not fix for me because of mileage. Terrible customer service & endangered my life & others that day for a issue that they're responsible for.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 mph the vehicle loss all of its power without any warning lights illuminated and the contact had to steer the vehicle off the road. After several attempts the vehicle would not restart therefore the vehicle was towed to a dealer (blue springs Ford- 3200 NW south outer rd, blue springs, mo 64015) for a diagnosis. However the vehicle was not diagnosed and/or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of this failure. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000 tp.
The rear defrost had been acting up not wanting to work every time I'd try and use it for the last 2 months. Well on the morning of November 7 I went to warm my truck up and tried my defrost and it didn't light up so I figured well its not working. So as I'm driving down the road I notice that my back glass was completely shattered on the drivers side of the back glass. I never heard anything break and there was no other sign of impact. Just out of nowhere. So I did some research into Ford f150s and back glass breaks and came across a lot of reports of people who were in fact having defrost issues. . So my best guess is the electrical in the heated glass shorted out or sent a massive power surge through the glass causing it to shatter. . Either way this is a recall issue that Ford should be held responsible for.
On 2 occasions (in the last 2 weeks) while driving my Ford 150 (2011) (on the freeway about 50mph) I suddenly felt like I was rear-ended and my head went backwards on the head rest. I looked in the rear view mirror expecting to see a vehicle who had hit me, but there was none. On oct 3, 2019, the same thing happened (was driving about 30mph) and I once again looked in the rear view mirror to see if there was a car that hit me, there wasn't. Also after the 2nd incident the wrench warning light came on briefly, went off, and the speedometer went to zero, even though I was probably driving 30 miles an hour. I pulled the truck over, turned off the engine and when I restarted it, the speedometer worked again. I honestly feel this is a recall issue that may be related to the power train (that is what the wrench warning light indicates). Both of these incidents were very frightening because I thought I had been hit from behind, but that was not the case, rather there was some sort of mechanical failure in this vehicle. I called usaa to file a claim, but they said mechanical failure is not covered. On oct 4th I took the truck to bickford Ford (in snohomish, wa, where I bought it) and left it there. The shop said they might not be able to fix it for 3 weeks because they're very backed up. I will need to purchase a rental car. I went online to search for Ford 150 (2011) issues and there was a complaint dated June 15, 2011 that describes the exact same thing that I experienced ("feeling like you're hit from behind causing you to slam your head and body on the seat"). Please please look into this, in my heart I know this must be a recall issue!.
I purchased the vehicle on 07/30/19. On or around 08/01/19 the vehicle was jerking and the check engine light came on, so I notified both salesmen at the dealership immediately by text message and photos. Chris indicated that the truck needs an oil change. So I had the oil change done immediately after the text message. Two or three days later, the truck jerked again. I called chris and informed him that the truck was jerking again. Chris indicated I take it to have it checked with an odb2. The truck obd2 indicated that the truck had a problem with camshaft sensors. From the parts store I drove to the dealership and showed the results of the obd2. Chris indicated that he would discuss the issue with jesse to see if they could help get this problem resolved. Within two to three days I returned to the dealership that jesse could test drive the truck. When jesse test drove the truck, it did not jerk and the check engine light was off. Jesse indicated that he and the dealership could not help me because there was no evidence or codes to indicate there was an problem with the truck. Jesse, chris and pete the mechanic indicated that the truck would be safe to drive. On or around the 08/20/19 I was in the hospital and my husband, jose, indicated that the truck was jerking. On or around 08/26/19 I personally went to the dealership and spoke to chris and let him know the truck was still jerking. Chris indicated that he would speak to jesse. That same afternoon, I received a text message from chris. He indicated that they could offer labor and parts to fix the truck. But then continues the text indicating that it would cost me $200. I went personally to the dealership and indicated to jesse and chris that this was unacceptable because the truck began jerking two days after the day of purchase. I need this resolved. Please help.
I am an owner of a Ford F-150 platinum. The VIN is (xxxxx). I received a notice of a recall with fix for my pickup last year. I took my pickup with the notice that I had received in the mail to our local Ford dealership, baugh Ford in clanton, alabama. I had an appointment with the local dealership on or around September 5, 2018 to resolve this issue. Prior to this repair, I had not noticed or experienced any problems with the transmission. However, following the repair, I noticed the transmission slipping or for lack of a better term forgetting what gear it was in. This seemed to happen while traveling slowly as in a parking lot, then letting off of the accelerator. As soon as the accelerator was depressed there was a brief pause followed by a loud metal to metal pop and jolt as if someone had hit the rear of the vehicle. This occurred infrequently and I could not make this happen, not reproduceable. This occurred approximately six times since September last. On June 15, 2019, while traveling on interstate I-65 north just north of montgomery, alabama at highway speed, I noticed the transmission seemed to momentarily slip or go into neutral. The gear selector was still in drive position and remained in that position through out this incident. Then it seemed as if the transmission started shifting gears. At some point the rear tires locked and the vehicle veered to the right and I and the truck abruptly left the interstate. I went down a steep embankment. I finally managed to stop my vehicle, without hitting any other vehicle or highway signage, near a secondary road. I then moved the gear selector from drive into the park position and then back to the drive position and drove a short distance to a safer location. I exited my vehicle and walked around and looked underneath the vehicle. Additionally, there no warning lights, no error/malfunction codes. The passenger a/c will not switch to cool. It is intermittent problem. I feel it is manufacturing defect and should be a recall. I known several other owners that have same problem.
I started my truck for work and turn on rear defroster and the rear window shattered on the drivers side also two weeks ago my tire almost fell off after 3 lug nuts broke m and 1 was missing.
