general problems of the 2012 Ford F-150

The contact owns a 2013 Ford flex. The contact stated that on several occasions while stopped or attempted to drive over 10 mph, the door ajar warning light illuminated indicating that the front and rear passenger side doors were open, but the doors were closed. The contact then stated that when attempted to lock all the doors, the doors would unlock and activate the interior lighting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the door sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
