My rear window shattered out. I wasnt even driving it. I dont know what happened.
Interior of rear window unexpectedly shattered while backing out of the driveway. Pieces of glass flew onto the back seat, fortunately no one was sitting in the rear of the truck at the time.
When you going down the road at 4550 mile an hour it just dropped down the first gear.

I was driving on the highway going 70mph in 6th gear. Myself, my wife, and my 6th month old son were on our way to a doctors appointment when in the middle lane on the highway my truck decided to completely downshift into 1st gear. With doing so my truck locked up and I lost control of the vehicle almost colliding with a semi. I was very lucky to not have wrecked and got onto the shoulder safely where I had no power to my vehicle. I got it towed to a dealership and after paying out of pocket for a diagnostic they found that my truck had a recall with the oss sensor on the transmission witch caused significant engine and transmission damage resulting in $18,000. 00 to fix. Apparently the warranty expires 10 years or 150k miles witch my truck has surpassed both. I wasn’t warned about any recall or found any recall there was no damage or signs of damage to the truck prior to this incident.
While driving on the highway at approximately 70 mph, with my child in the car, the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear causing the wheels to skid and the vehicle to stop in moving traffic. Luckily, I was able to get to the side for safety, but this could have been so much worse. When I called dealership they stated there was no recalls for this problem. Also, the vehicle is now in need of repair, I would presume as a result of the engine being shifted into 1st gear while traveling at highway speeds.
Our speedometer stopped working and wrench light would come on. When driving the gears would shift to 5th. It happened really bad on the highways several times where we had to pullover for a good 20 minutes. Started happening a little over a month ago. They had my truck in the shop for 2 weeks we've had it looked at and fixed and they said it was the recall on 2011-2012 Ford's f1-50s and some 2013 Ford f1-50s but we got charged for it.
Diagnosed by local goodyear service. The leadframe on transmission need replacing. Truck randomly shuts off, shifts wrong & dash lights are weird. Ford dealer says not a recall & truck is too old for extended warranty. Ford customer service says the same. And this isnt a safely issue?! dealer says $700+ to fix. Just spent nearly $1800 to fix a broken leaf spring - in the middle layer of the spring - & truck has never been overloaded - Ford company would not tell me if that had a recall because it was not diagnosed by dealer. It was rubbing on 1 of new tires good thing we did not have a blowout!.
My speakers when they were working would make a ear piercing static output that would last a few seconds. It was very dangerous while I was driving bc it would scar me enough to jump. After about the 5th time, the speakers and radio no longer worked.
Problemas DE trasmicion.
On my way to work I turned on the rear defrost and heard a loud bang after 15 minutes. I pulled over to see what had happened and the read driver side windshield pain had shattered. It remained in the laminate but I got a replacement quote and its almost $1000 dollars. After doing research this is a major problem with the defrost mechanism on these trucks with no known fix. I'm glad it stayed in take but the glass is continuously cracking as I drive and I cannot get the repair done until Thursday and the dealer said they can do nothing except replace the glass and hope it doesn't happen again.
Transmission problem gear. Sudden downshift then stuck in 1st or second gear.
The defective part is the transmission molded leadframe, their was a recall issued on truck which I was not told until the problem occurred when I drivinh the truck I have taken truck in and told them the issue on the transmission which I looked up and found the recall we contacted Ford motor company back in March 2023 and was told a letter would be sent to me for this recall to be done which I never received I contacted them again after I was told it would take 6 weeks to receive letter for the repair and was told the recall expired, this recall should of been fixed before truck was sold to me, I have tried to get this resolved it is not safe to drive the truck without this part being replaced, the engine light came on I took it in to Ford and had it checked and was told a recall was on the truck, it wasn't repaired and nothing has been resolved. Now they have said it would cost me $2000 to be replaced which was suppose to be replaced with the recall.
Locked up in 1st gear while driving.
The rear glass on the drivers side shattered for no reason.
Sunroof / moonroof went to a 3rd party company in business for over 50 years and have had several Ford F-150 vehicles with same sunroof issues that come in weekly. Ford specialist was able to give me a description of the issue and due to pricing shopped around and found out I am not the only one having this sunroof issue with screws coming off and sun roof getting stuck all the time.
This has now happened countless times. The truck will be in a gear, as I naturally speed up, the transmission will jerk and the truck will get stuck in the following gear. The truck will then be stuck in that gear and will not downshift. A big wrench light comes on, then turns off about 10 seconds later. In addition, the odometer lists dashes (---,---), no mileage measures. The speedometer stays at 0 mph even when driving in the stuck gear. Another light stays on, I think it is the airbag image. Everything stays as is until I turn off the truck. Once I turn off and turn back on, everything goes back to normal. I've taken the truck to Ford, but because there are no "check engine" lights and there are no codes, Ford will not cover. My mechanic has confirmed (without any codes) that the recall is tsb16-0008, which was issued in March 2019. Since my truck is showing no codes, and my truck is over 10 years old, Ford says they will not cover. This is extremely concerning. If the truck downshifts on the highway, or refuses to downshift when needed, I could be in a serious accident. As mentioned, this has now occurred countless times.

My truck will randomly start driving in third gear or shift to third gear while driving and stick. It will also hard shift from third to fourth. There have been few instances where it downshifted to first gear.
My truck will downshift to 1st gear while driving and sometimes starts or sticks in 3rd gear. I have called dealership but they say my truck isn’t in recall. This has happened numerous times to the point it’s not safe to drive. I’ve had it towed already.

The wrench came on speedometer wasn't working acted like it wasn't shifting correctly turn signals wouldn't turn off after completing a turn and fuel mileage wasn't working looked in owners manuel found it says power train malfunction/reduced power contact authorized dealership as soon as possible.
I'm not sure if it's the cruze control or just the the accelerator that is causing the problem. I'm driving along and then the truck kicks into high speed almost throwing me off the road. At times it's slow then it kicks in. Very scary.
Fuse for fuel pump keeps burning out causing engine to shutdown or not start at all. Smell wire burning smell when opening hood to check fuses. Am afraid this will eventually cause a fire in fuse box. Looked up videos on youtube and it states that Ford recommends rerouting fuse port but this is electrical in nature and could cause a fire or perhaps other mechanical failures. I am not a mechanic nor do I have financial means to pay someone to reroute a bad fuse port which can eventually cause a fire.
Rear windows shattered and I have no idea why. Drove to work and mid afternoon noticed both back windows were shattered when I went out to my truck.

My truck randomly downshifts while driving. I took my truck to fix a downshifting recall that should have taken care of this dangerous problem and it has yet to be resolved. I called corporate Ford and a local Ford dealer and was told I needed to pay $140 fee in order for my car to be checked considering the recall apparently was taken care of. In the system it shows it was taken care of but there is clearly a problem if the truck is doing exactly what the recall was supposed to prevent. This is our daily vehicle and it frightens my wife to drive it. This happens on a daily occasion.
I was driving on a cold morning and turned on the rear defrost on back window. The window exploded and shattered. Nothing hit the window only the activation of the defrost control. The issue is that I thought someone shot at me. Could have caused an accident and I'm glad my kids weren't in the back. While driving the truck will shift gears and get stuck in gears, particularly first gear. When stuck rmp's rev high and cause the truck to lurch forward even when foot is on the brake. Speedometer goes to 0 even while driving. Truck can switch to manual gear, but will only allow to go to 3rd gear and no higher. Putting truck in park and shutting it off will sometimes reset and allow to get back on the road. Other times it will stay stuck in first gear. I believe this is an issue with the lead frame. Our safety was put at risk as we tried to take off from a stop light and the truck would not shift out first. The lurching almost made me hit the person in front of me and the person behind me almost hit me as the truck was lurching forward. Any higher speed would have surely caused an accident. Truck has been take to a Ford dealership service center. There is a csp from Ford on the lead frame of the truck with our VIN number but because no code has been recorded, Ford will not fix the issue under the csp. We have not had any warning lamps or messages before, during, or after the issue occurs. Ford needs to acknowledge that the problem with the lead frame does not always produce a an error code. They need to replace all the lead frames in the affected vehicles if it demonstrates these issues immediately to keep drivers safe. Error code should not be the only determining factor of fixing this issue as it is obvious that they don't occur in every case and driver are in serious danger.
Warning lights and issues: 1. ) abs warning light on 2. ) service advancetrac light on 3. ) wrench light shows up and miles gauge stops working 4. ) truck is driving strangely gets stuck and kicks when speed up 5. ) truck rpm gauge goes crazy and truk tries to speed up by itself.
Timing chain has no tension and requiring immediate repair of timing chain and phasers. Check engine light illuminated with codes p0012 & p054c. It is evident this is an acknowledged issue with Ford due to the number of tsbs issued for this motor. Diagnosed at an independent repair shop and confirmed at local Ford dealership and is available currently at the Ford dealership for inspection upon request. Safety risk of loss of power or complete engine failure while operating. Occasional cold start noises occurred for about a year prior to the check engine light on 1/13/2022 - check engine light appeared, and was taken to a repair shop the next day.
I drove my truck home that afternoon and parked with no problems or alarms got up next morning to leave had hill decent default alarm when I cranked the truck and obviously that affected the electric power steering and I could not turn the steering wheel. First thought that came to mind what if this had happened and I lost steering control while driving home yesterday. As I checked into the problem I learned of the electric control power assist steering also learned that there had been many other incidents with steering failures some with accidents. Also learned that I cannot find any recalls related to this problem which is a very dangerous problem. After getting some advice I checked out the wiring harness underneath the fuse box which is located under the hood. While shining a light up into the fuse box I immediately saw burned wires. Then called my Ford dealer in easley, south carolina who did not return my call even though I told them I was without a vehicle and had a very serious electrical problem with my truck. I took pictures of wires and would like for you to investigate this. Very dangerous situation!!!!!.
The truck seems to downshift on its own randomly. Thwre are times where I turn the trucm off and turn it back on then its back to normal. Other times it takes about 10 mins to work normaly again. Also the truck won't let me accelerate at times. It just sounds like I'm reving the engine.
I was first driving about 50mph in 6th gear when my truck downshifted to 1 without warning. Luckily no one was behind me and I was able to get into the right lane. I tuned my vehicle off and back on and my truck shifted just fine. To say I was and scared is an understatement luckily I have had plenty of training just in case, I’m sure many have not. I got a diagnostic test on it and there were no errors. About a week later I was driving 80 down the freeway when my truck went from 6 gear to idol. Luckily I was able to steer off the highway to get away from traffic. Again, I turned off and back on my truck. No lights or indications, but now I have an appointment to get another complete diagnostic on it. Just want to make sure everyone is aware that there is an issue. I have around 180,000 miles on the vehicle. I don’t have any files to upload at this time because my truck goes in next week.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, a loud thumping noise was heard before the vehicle shutoff. During the failure the “service transmission" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. There was no service codes present. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 34,000.
