The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the advance trac steering, hill track control, and steering assist warning lights illuminated and vehicle suddenly loss powering steering functionality. The contact was able to manually steer the vehicle and drove the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The mechanic notified the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 14v316000 (steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

2 Steering Rack And Pinion problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2018

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While driving at low speeds, the steering wheel became extremely difficult to maneuver without warning.
