The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while an independent mechanic was performing an oil change on the vehicle, the contact was informed that there was a hole on the passenger's side sub frame, at the cross member and transmission connecting point. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 39,970.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2024

The contact owns a 2015 Ford-f150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a snap and cracking sound coming from the front driver’s side wheel. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway and parked. The contact exited the vehicle and performed an inspection. The contact noticed that the front wheel had detached, and the ball joints were fractured. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured axle. The contact was informed that the axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed of recall NHTSA campaign number: 21e027000 (suspension) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2021

The drivers side lower a arm bracket that is welded on the frame and the a arm bolts up to the metal failed and broke completely off. This was not a weld but the bracket itself that failed.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, he heard abnormal clunking sounds coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the integrated wheel end (iwe) had failed and ruined the hubs, the rotors and the brakes. The vehicle was repaired under an unknown Ford technical service bulletin number. However, the failure reoccurred at 51,000 miles. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who provided the same diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would partially cover the repair as the VIN was not included in a recall and the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

7 Suspension problem

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving various speeds and making a left or right turn, a noise was heard coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the issue occurred when the vehicle was placed in 4 wheel and 2 wheel drive. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to don wood Ford Lincoln inc. (2065 e state st, athens, OH 45701, (740) 593-6642) several times, but a failure could not be diagnosed or duplicated. The manufacturer was notified and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 26,500.

8 Suspension problem

Truck rear end bounces and shifts violently going over bumps and on rough roads driving over 40 mph. When driving over speed bumps the truck feels as though it has bottomed out or the rear shocks have fully compressed and giving no support. These symptoms happen daily and makes driving dangerous on rough roads.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2016

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 40-60 mph, the floor of the vehicle and the steering wheel vibrated. The failure occurred while the vehicle was in motion and idling. The failure began the day after the vehicle was newly purchased. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the drive shaft was vibrating. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle's suspension needed to be broken in at a minimum of 500 to 1,000 miles. The vehicle was not diagnosed with a failure nor repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not experiencing any failures. The approximate failure mileage was 55.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2016

2015 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regards to several defects with vehicle. The consumer stated there were multiple instances where the vehicle stalled, the check engine light illuminated. The steering gear, steering shaft, steering wheel needed to be replaced. The consumer blew the horn and a whole was punctured in the steering wheel. The wrench light illuminated. There was a fluid leak from the rear left axle. The shutter grille actuator became unplugged.
