general problems of the 2015 Ford F-150 - part 2

Accelator stuck to the floor a couple of times when gassing it to pass other cars on the roads. The pedal would actually will stay pressed down even when my foot is off the pedal, it will speed the truck up even when pressing down hard on the brakes. When I got it to stop and cut the truck off while in park and turning the key the rpms were going absouletely nuts. Looking to see if this is a common occurance. Thanks in advance!.

The contact stated that idling in the mcdonalds drive thru pickup line the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration and drove over curb causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle to nearly crash into a wall. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 133,751.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at low speeds and attempting to park the vehicle, the vehicle inadvertently went into reverse, then accelerated forward. The vehicle failed to stop and jumped the curb and abruptly stopped. There was an abnormal clacking noise detected. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and drove as designed. The contact called the local dealer who informed him to schedule an appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

A mechanic confirmed the truck has an issue with the speed sensor. On the daily, the truck will experience shifting issues, gets stuck in 3rd, and will not go past 5th. I have to turn off the vehicle and restart and it resets. I've read this is a known issue, and f150s for model years prior to and after 2015 have been recalled for this same thing. I also believe there are already a significant number of complaints for the 2015 model year for this exact issue. Please issue a recall.

While driving at posted speeds on open highway and in congested work zones, this F-150 experienced an electronic throttle body failure 5 times between rochester hills, mi and granger, in on 9/13/2022. It happened again on 9/14/2022 in city two way traffic with no shoulder. In each incident, the vehicle went into limp mode with rough idle and had to be completely stopped, turned off and restarted in high traffic, hazardous stopping locations. This happened once before in the mountains in utah, in a construction zone back on 5/02/2021. At that time, the check engine light did not stay on and Ford was unable to find a code. It did not happen again until 9/13/2022. These incidents put me and my family in danger with each episode. Ford is fully aware of this issue, has in the past and should notify owners of the potential issue and continue to make repairs available as a recall or extended warranty service issue.

I was driving down the road like I always do, the cruise control just shut off. I tried to re-engage it and it would not respond, about 15 minutes later I engaged the cruise control successfully. This has happened numerous times over the last three weeks and now in order to engage the cruise control, I lift with my fingertips, the top left and the bottom left of the button and then it will engage. One occasion, the dash lights in trip 1 mode flashed. Then the control began working again.

In 2022, while behind the wheel of my 2015 f150, I would be driving down the highway (70+ mph) and the transmission would suddenly downshift to 1st gear, then jump to 3rd, and then back down to first gear, all over the place. This happened on several occasions. It was erratic, I experienced sudden changes in speed, sudden and frightening revving of the engine (especially on the highway) and on several occasions I had to make sudden changes to my driving to ensure my safety as well as the safety of others on the road. After I was able to pull over and turn my truck off, the truck would either not turn back on or take a while to be able to turn on. I had no warning that the transmission was about to shift gears and only noticed a check engine light after the incident had occurred. After taking my truck to a transmission shop and they did not find an issue with the transmission (it worked correctly while they test drove it), I took it to a Ford dealership where I was told there was a fault with the cam shaft sensors. After a $3,000 repair to fix the issue, I recently found Ford has recalled 2014 F-150s for issues that sound identical to what I was experiencing in my 2015 F-150.

While in motion and on the freeway there is power loss, shaking, engine sputtering and barely has enough power to get off the road, hill start assist disabled, decent control disabled, service wrench indicator, service advance trac. I powered off the truck, waiting 10 seconds and it starts and runs fine until it does it again.

On 2-24-2021 these two things had never happened before 1. I noticed when arrived to work the p for the gear selector stayed illuminated after vehicle is shut off. A CO-worker pointed this out also this had never happened before 2. While in a parking space on side of cvs drug store no other cars near after starting the vehicle and putting into reverse the vehicle accelerated on its own while applying brake didn't stop hit a cement pole barrier, truck kept trying to jerk backwards after 2-3 seconds it stopped shifted vehicle from reverse to drive to move back into parking space vehicle accelerated on its own; quickly shifted from drive to park vehicle continue to move forward while brake pedal applied and hit a tree and truck turned off if not for tree would have went down embankment on to a freeway.

While on open freeway with adaptive cruise set at 70mph passed a semi truck the brakes were applied violently. This occured 3 separate times.

Truck fault code flashes and truck shuts down into safe mode. Three times it occurred while driving on freeway at 70 mph and the fourth time it happened in an a side road doing 35 mph. Every time the same thing happened, the truck shut down in safe mode showing fault codes. I would stop, it would idle very rough, I was not able to move it as it would not rev or let me increase rpm. I would have to shut off truck, turn it back on, it would reset and drive like normal. Took to courtesy Ford four times to diagnose and they could not find anything, I bought a code ready and the truck went into fault code and safety mode again, the code read p2112. Ford found TSB 16-0139 applied and replaced throttle body and charged me $496. 95 for repair. 2015 Ford f150 with 58k miles.

I was driving my 2015 F-150 on a city street at 35 mph when suddenly my truck lost all acceleration power and began to shake violently. The engine continued to shake and sputter as I brought the vehicle to a stop. The service engine light came on along with two codes to �service advancetrac� and �hill decent control fault�. I turned the vehicle off, then restarted. It seemed to take longer to crank, but it started and I proceeded down the road. Each time the vehicle would reach 35 mph the same sequence would occur with the vehicle shaking violently and losing all acceleration power along with the service codes flashing. I researched my problem and read story after story on the internet of others who owned 2015 F-150's with the same exact issue happening. I even found a recall Ford issued: 16b32 for a defective throttle body, but was told at my local Ford service center that although the identical thing happened with others, my truck was not listed under that recall. I had to pay $500 out of pocket for them to replace my defective throttle body plus labor costs. This seems to be a common issue with these 2015 trucks. I would like to see something done to include more trucks like mine with similar issues into that recall. I should not have been responsible for paying almost $500 to get this problem fixed. I'm just glad I wasn't on the highway or pulling my camper trailer. It's just a matter of time before someone is killed or badly injured because of this problem! please do something about it before this happens!.

While driving on highway at 55 mph (6th gear), vehicle suddenly downshifted to 1st gear. The engine's rpms revved as the vehicle began to decelerate hard, resulting in the passengers experiencing a sudden jerk of their neck and body. The accelerator pedal had no response. After approximately 5 seconds I regained response from the accelerator and the vehicle began to upshift. A few moments later, the whole experience repeated with the vehicle downshifting to 1st. This repeated a third time. The incident caused several near-misses as we lost power at highway speed and began a rapid deceleration without notice.

Less than 5 years old and only 82,000 miles on my 2015 f150, the vehicle is inoperable because of an electrical issue between the gas pedal and throttle body. This has left me stranded on the side of the road with my 6 week old baby in the back seat. Doing research, it appears to be a known issue with 2015 f150s and is causing major safety concerns, but yet no recall. When driving, the vehicle suddenly loses power and slows to a complete stop on the road. Warning lights illuminate the dash and vehicle is inoperable, leaving us on the side of the road.

While driving my 2015 Ford f150 on a city street at 45 miles per hour the vehicle lost acceleration, rmp dropped to barely 2 and hill assist disabled light came on. Glided to a red light, put the vehicle in neutral, came to a stop and kept the gas lightly pressed hoping to keep power to the engine. When lighted turned green put truck back into drive and acceleration returned. Parked at my place of business. Shut the truck off but the brake lights stayed on. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership because of concern to drive it after losing acceleration (tow truck driver call the vehicle in limp mode). The dealership found not fault codes but did find plastic pieces on the floor board. Dealership said it was a "broken brake pedal" - a small plastic disc (grommet) inside the brake assembly broke into pieces causing loss f acceleration, the electronic messaging system to disable hill assist and the brake lights to remain on. Dealership said they have seen this in Ford fusions but not in an f150. The new brake assembly is a total redesign from the the one that the vehicle was built with. The image on the left is the broken brake assemble (the finger is pointing to the damaged item), the part on the right where you will see the small white disc (grommet) is the replacement brake assembly. I purchased the vehicle new in 2015 and have been the only owner. My vehicle has 54k miles, is driven locally, not used to tow or off road and is garaged when not in use. A vehicle loosing acceleration while driving is a major safely concern and I hope this will be investigated as it is a known issue in other Ford vehicles.

On July 24, 2020 while driving on interstate 291 driving 45-50mph with heavy traffic, with absolutely no warning there was a loud explosion. I thought I was rear ended. Simultaneously the rear tires locked up while approaching a work zone. I skidded uncontrollably for approximately 100 feet. Ultimately came to rest on the shoulder. As my family and I exited the vehicle there was heavy smoke coming from the rear and underside of the vehicle. We thought the vehicle was on fire. The state police arrived on the scene within 5 minutes upon us exiting the vehicle. The transmission wouldn't go into gear so the vehicle had to be flat bedded to the nearest dealership, marcotte Ford, holyoke MA. Was told by the dealership the rear end failed and locked up. Upon their test drive I was told there was a total failure with the transmission. They said they had to wait for a decision from Ford to either rebuild or replace the transmission. August 19, 2020 I was notified that the transmission was rebuilt and that I could pick up the vehicle. I did not receive any prior phone calls from them to inform me of what was going to be done to correct the situation. .

I own a 2015 Ford f150. I was driving at 60 mph, the vehicle abruptly decelerated. The wrench and limp mode warning lights illuminated while the failure code p2112 occurred. I had to coast my vehicle on to the road shoulder and restart the engine. I had to stop and restart numerous times before I could make it home, off of a busy highway. When it stalled on me the next day, I had the vehicle towed to the dealer and paid for a diagnostic that located a failure code at the throttle body.

While trying to pass a dump truck on the interstate with adaptive cruise on, vehicle slammed on the brakes, and causing the vehicle behind me to slam on theirs to avoid hitting me. . I noticed that there had been a recall for this before in 2015, but I never received any notice of this. . It is a very serious road hazard!!.

Driving down the road today being mindful of the speed limit since I just got a speeding ticket two weeks prior. I looked at the speedometer and it read 62. I know the difference I speed variation just from driver feeling and experience. Well I applied the brakes and the speedometer did not move. When I reached my destination I put the car in park and noticed my speedometer was frozen at 40 mph. So now according to the trucks brain 40 mph = 0 mph.

Vehicle accelerated of its own accord driving straight on highway. Took to dealer (village Ford, ocala, FL), they ran black box and did warranty work. A few weeks later, vehicle accelerated again of its own accord while attempting to slow down to make a left turn. Vehicle collided into a tree.

Alert - alert I wrote before about trouble with the 2015 Ford f150 stalling out while driving. I mechanic took ours out for a test drive and it did the same for him on the interstate. Please have someone address this issue before someone dies or has severe injuries due to vehicle stalling at random and for no apparent reason. I am just glad he wasn't passing on a 2 lane road or pulling a trailer. I can't believe Ford has not addressed this - it's on you tube. This is the opposite of speeding up - imagine you have your kids, etc in the truck, in the middle of a major interstate with cars all around you and you stall out completely. Please, please do something about this. It only happens in motion.

Randomly the hill start assist control error would come up. Additionally, service advance trac error would come up and the truck would go into some sort of limp mode with no acceleration allowed. Finally, the truck started running really rough. All these things would happen while I was in motion and or turning. I have been broken down on the side of the highway 4 separate times now. Everything is really random and can't be replicated. It's done this about 10 times now and the dealer has no idea how to fix it. My truck has been there for over a week with no remedy.

This is the second time the engine just seized on me while driving in motion, on the interstate, at a high rate of speed and I would have to change the gear to keep it from stalling! this is a serious safety issue. I am taking it in for service at autonation Ford in sanford FL, again today!.

Driving on highway at 60 mph, climbing slight incline, multiple warnings regarding hill assist, abs, traction control, etc. Populate on dash. Truck goes in to "limp" mode, steering becomes stiff and speed reduces until it comes to a rough idle.

The vehicle was taken to holmes tuttle Ford Lincoln (660 w auto mall dr, tucson, az 85705, (866) 930-6255) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,500.

When I started the car, put it in drive, the truck went to full throttle on its own without touching the accelerator, and it took off at an excessive speed. I tried braking, but it just threw me into a power slide. So, once I was finally able to straighten the car without flipping it, I could turn loose with one hand and kill the engine. That's the only way it would stop. I was forced to go through the yard with things flying out of the bed of the truck ruining a 5 gallon can of paint we had mixed to paint the inside of the house. I am a professional truck driver, and this scared the death out of me.

The contact attempted to restart the engine; however, the vehicle began shaking and would not stop. Also, �hill descent control fault� and �service advancetrac" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to paducah Ford (3476 park Ave, paducah, ky 42001, (270) 444-0011) where it was diagnosed that a new throttle body needed to be installed. The contact planned to have the vehicle repaired this week. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 104,000.

My 2015 f150 ecoboost has 79,156 miles on it. Over the past 3 days the truck has repeatedly lost power while driving in traffic on the highway. The rpm will drop down to 500 rpm, rough idle, no acceleration at all, hill assist light wrench light check engine light passenger air bag light and see owners manual pop up on the instrument panel. Took my truck into Ford today and they replaced the throttle body under my extende warranty not their emissions warranty as stated in their owners manual of 8 years or 80,000 miles. Called Ford and they don't know about an emissions warranty in their owners manual. Looked online and youtube to discover this problem is not just me and frequent with others. This can really cause a horrible accident. Luckily I'm a cdl driver and was able to safely get over on the shoulder this time. I'm not confident replacing the throttle body was a fix as it is a bandage to happen again at any point in time. This truck now is compromised and I wouldn't want any of my family using it or depending on it.

2015 F-150 3. 5l ecoboost driving on highway at speeds 60-75mph went to "limp mode" losing all acceleration with warnings "service advance trac" "hill descent control fault" and "hill start assist not available" along with the service wrench light. Resulted having to pull over on interstate 10 with busy traffic, also while in the middle of a traffic light turning left. This has happened 6 times. Ford dealer has diagnosed this as a throttle body issue and will be replaced at my cost.

My Ford truck has had issues with lurching while at a stop, hard downshifts. And as of Friday night, going from 75 mph on the interstate to a dead standstill as though my transmission locked up. Almost created a pileup on interstate 70. Then would have rpm btwn 5 to 8 going 20 mph. 2015 model v8 with ecoboost. My year was not part of the recall announced but the symptoms described in that recall fit mine exactly. I am going to file a complaint with Ford as well.

Speedometer reads 15 mph when parked and 15 mph more than actual while vehicle is in motion.

I was travelling along at highway speed and suddenly the truck lost responsiveness to the accelerator pedal and went into limp mode. I had to move over to the shoulder of the road rapidly to avoid becoming a hazard to other drivers as my speed was slowing significantly. This has happened on several occasions on both surface streets and on highways/freeways. I have been told that the electronic throttle body is faulty. This fault has created a hazard for me and other drivers due to the sudden loss of power and the hazard that represents on roads with no shoulder.

The vehicle was repaired. The diagnosis information was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.

P2112 obd error code - throttle body closed - while driving at any speed - in this case on the highway - engine would drop to limp mode, various errors display on dash. Have to pull over, shut off engine, then restart it to reset. Know issue with numerous Ford f150 ecoboost and mustang gas engines. This is very dangerous especially if I cannot pull off to the side to shut off the motor. Very high possibility of getting rear-ended by other fast moving cars potentially causing harm to driver and others.

Was driving on road with 35mph speed limit, looked down at speedometer and said I was going 85, ever since the speedometer is stuck between 35 and 95, when stopped it lays at 35-40mph. Have read many others with similar issues.
