Three problems related to blind spot detection have been reported for the 2017 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2017 Ford F-150 based on all problems reported for the 2017 F-150.
While driving, the rear window opened up by itself and would not close. Controls were dead. Found a wire bundle (not a harness) which runs from the body control module to several sensors, including the 110v power converter, were worn through shorting out. The wiring lies in a channel along the rocker panel on the interior of the vehicle. The wiring is not protected from abrasion which led to the abrasion of the wires shorting out. Since 110v is running along this same channel, the potential for a fire is high, plus shorting 110v ac with 12v DC.
I had a problem that would cause my transmission to randomly downshift or slip into neutral while in drive. When this happened it would also disengage cruise controll and would disengage the blind spot monitoring system. Took it to the dealership and they confirmed it was a faulty molded lead frame. I had them replace the part. But was doing research and saw where they have had similar recalls on previous years.
The 2017 F-150 suddenly experienced electrical problems including; tailgate unintended opening, blis (blind spot information system) failures, cross traffic alert failures and rear camera blue screen failures. These failures occur at a status of the vehicle, eg. Locking the doors, shifting into gear, use of key fob or proximity sensors to tailgate.
