The alarm system and hazards will randomly go on and will not turn off until you start vehicle and hit the hazard light button. If you hit the hazard button while the vehicle is off, it does not turn the hazards off. They will often remain flashing even if the horn/alarm system isn't blaring. At times hitting the hazard button has made the horn go off. The truck has started locking itself and keypad will not work to unlock only the key fob. Truck has not been driven at night since this has occurred to notice if its affecting the headlights. We have noticed that it is also affecting the cabin climate controls (air conditioning/heat). The source of the problem appears to be a malfunction with the body control module (bcm). Prior to these issues arising, there were no warning or messages that appeared on the dash. The truck has been driving great. Now the check engine light is on and have to disconnect the battery so that it doesn't go off in the middle of the night again.
The passenger back door latch, sometimes when the door closes it says rear right door ajar. It takes a few times to open and close it for the light to go off. . Noone's safety has been put at risk yet door still locks but could become unsafe over time. The vehicles has not been inspected by manufacturer or insurance or others yet. The door light comes on if door is not closed properly and will stay on sometimes.
Lights independently flicker on and off continuously until the battery is completely drained and died. No capability to stop this from occurring.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights inadvertently flashed on and off. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the bcm and battery junction box were replaced; however, the failure recurred and the horn inadvertently activated while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the horn was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 62,902.
There wasnt an incident yet, but it was made a law that after may 1st, 2018, all new vehicles need rear view visibility systems. Ford made their vehicles have backup cameras, but they are faulty and stop working. Then charge consumers thousands of dollars to fix a safety issue that should be a recall, free of charge. I am filing a complaint om behalf of thousands and thousands of Ford owners. This law went into effect may 1st of 2018, according to usdot and the national highway traffic safety administration. What Ford is doing is wrong/unlawful and they should have to follow the law just like everyone else (even being an automobile company).
When I started the engine at a I-10 rest stop there was no instrumentation, no speedometer, no gas guage, no turn signal, no indication of drive mode p r n d m, nothing. I think I had brake lights. I had to drive over 60 miles on I-10 and then to a walmart. I was pulling an airstrean trailer. After turning off the ignition and removing the key there was some illumination on the screen so I disconnected the battery to avoid being stranded. The next day when I stsrted the truck, all the instrumentation came back. As a result the Ford service department had no codes to read. Three weeks kater I lost cruise control for several days during the trip. When I got to a Ford service department the cruise control was working again. Twice before that the truck had dropped out of cruise control on it's own. No codes.
In late 2020 Ford issued recall 20c03 to correct a problem with the daylight running lights. This entailed the reprogramming of the body control module. In so doing they made an error in the new program and inadvertently activated the parking lamps at all times when using the daylight running lights. This is in violation of the fmvss no. 108 (vehicle lighting standards) and California vehicle code section 24800 (driving with parking lights). I filed a complaint with Ford motor CO. And they have repeatedly refused to correct the issue. Now to avoid the possibility of receiving a traffic violation it is necessary to not use a safety feature and drive without daylight running lights.
Ford issued recall 20c03 (NHTSA 20v-097) to correct an issue with the intensity of the daylight running lights on certain f150 trucks. Without informing the customer the reprogramming of the body control module also now activates the parking lights whenever the daylight running lights are activated. In California, vehicle code section 24800 prohibits the activation of the parking lights in conjunction with the daylight running lights while driving. I filed a complaint with Ford motor CO. , and their response was they have no intention of fixing this. That they don't care what California law says. I spoke with the local California highway patrol office and they confirmed I could be issued a citation for this infraction. Now the only recourse is to always drive with the daylight running lights off so the parking lights are not activated with them while driving. The work was performed on 10/27/2020 by the local Ford dealer.
I have reached out to the dealer several times to book an appointment for last two recalls. The dealer is not able to provide a time slot that I can drop my truck for recall repairs. The dealer does not have a back up rental car that I can load during my drop off time as I need to commute to work about 40 miles away everyday.

While driving at night on may 22, 2018, a 2018 Ford super duty was behind me. The front lights were super bright, too much and distracting. I flipped my rearview mirror to reduce the glare but, come on, it didn't really help. Side mirrors don't dim, do they? while stopped at a traffic light, I held my hand over the center rearview mirror. The lights are too much. Please get a handle on this growing problem.
