1 Seats problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2025

I was rear ended by a driver going approximately 35-45mph while I was coming to a near stop at a stop light, driver struck me totalling my vehicle and gaming me up to the right and down into the ditch alongside the road, my airbags never deployed but at fault party aurbags did. At some point during the accident most likely during the initial impact the driver side seat of my f150 broke resulting in my seat laying flat and me laying on top of it. The seat was a powered movement seat, the seat appears to have broke the back rest movement or retaining device. The seat failing to keep me in the correct upright position may have attributed to a severe back injury. Vehicle was taken to insurance salvage yard by state farm, was also investigated by state farm insurance adjuster but any additional info was not provided to me beyond the vehicle is a total loss at the time of the accident no warning lights were present however a emissions light was intermittent for 02 sensor, after the accident several lights were present for airbag/accident and rear parking aid sensors.

The driver and passenger seats continuously keep self adjusting without the memory seat option in my vehicle. When readjusting back to position I hear popping. I feel like it’s either an electrical problem or adjustment mechanism stripping out! I’ve talked to several people in different forums with the same issue and thought we was just losing our minds!.

3 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

The engine system on this vehicle experienced multiple failures, including severe knocking, power loss, and potential oil-related malfunctions. Despite repeated service visits to the authorized Ford dealership, the problem persisted. The dealership performed multiple repairs, but the issue was never fully resolved. The vehicle has been undrivable for over a year, during which I have had to rely on rental cars, borrowed vehicles, and eventually purchased cash vehicles to commute — all while continuing to pay for the truck. This is a severe financial and safety burden for a vehicle sold as reliable. To this day, no clear resolution has been offered, and Ford’s internal support has repeatedly deflected responsibility or referred me to scripted call center processes. The vehicle remains parked, unable to be driven due to fear of catastrophic failure or causing harm to myself or others on the road. The engine should be fully inspected, and the failure reported as part of a broader pattern I believe exists across other vehicles with this powertrain. There were early warning lights, knocking, and oil issues documented during dealer visits. The dealer acknowledged repeated service cases but failed to offer a true fix or replacement. This is more than mechanical failure — it’s a consumer safety and engineering accountability issue. I urge NHTSA to investigate the root cause and assess whether a broader recall or investigation is warranted.

4 Seats problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

The transmission slips and jumps into different gears while driving. When applying the accelerator from a stop the truck will not move due to it being in 7th gear, when it finally decides to move it shifts hard jolting the truck. The electric driver seat moves around, it is not stable.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the automatic cruise control would not operate as needed. He stated that while in automatic cruise control mode, the vehicle would accelerate without warning with a stopped vehicle ahead of him. The contact also mentioned that the driver's front seat would slide backwards without warning while driving at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to corwin Ford nampa (5707 e gate blvd, nampa, id 83687) where he was informed that the mechanic was unable to detect any failures with the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 11,000.

6 Seats problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2019

The transmission will twist the driveshaft at startup, stationary, and cause the rear end to pop very loudly. I've shown Ford engineering a video of it, I was told that it was normal. I've never heard of a vehicle doing this before. There is a rattling sound on deceleration, loudest when the engine is cold and lessons or maybe even goes away after warmed up. The engine was replaced earlier this year because of an oil consumption issue. The truck has memory power driver's seat and power mirrors that should go into place depending on the key fob that it detects. Randomly both side mirrors will start moving and popping before going back into position. This always occurs before the vehicle is started. I've noticed that it is usually when it detects the key fob or when I use the fob for some function. The seat randomly doesn't go into the memory position at startup.

Motor makes a pop/clunk sound when starting. 2. Back up warning on and off while backing up. 3. Drivers seat moves back on its own. 4. Mileage varies from 13 to 16 mpg in small town. Mileage is only 3,797. Vehicle tin 3 times for start up popping. Dealer said they rebuilt top end. Still pops on start and valves are now loud as on a150000 mi motor.

8 Seats problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2019

We got into an accident over the weekend. We were t-bones by a bus. It wrecked the passenger side of the car. However, when I went into the passenger side to get my purse out I noticed that there were flames coming from the side of the drivers seat. Our f150 is now burnt to a crisp. There's no reason for that truck to have caught fire like that.

9 Seats problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2018

Have already contacted your organization (11129828) but need to add some new information I have discovered. This truck was involved in a side swipe accident on 9-16-2018. All airbags were deployed. About 5-10 minutes after the wreck the inside of the truck was on fire. The fire department was called and put the fire out. At that time the fireman stated they felt the airbag on the drivers side had started the fire. Upon looking at the truck yesterday, I could see that it was really the seat back of the drivers seat that burned the most. At the time of the fire, the truck was not running and was still sitting in the spot it came to rest in after the accident.

Tl the contact owned a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while at a stop sign, another vehicle fishtailed and crashed into the rear half of the driver's side of the contact's vehicle causing the vehicle to turn 90 degrees. All the side air bags only deployed. The contact stated that within minutes the other driver noticed fire inside the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the fire was at the rear base left of the driver's seat. The contact stated that within a couple of minutes the wind caused the entire vehicle to become engulfed in flames. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. A police department and fire department reports were filed. There were no injuries. The contact called the velde Ford (888-221-2804, 2200 n 8th st, pekin, IL 61554) and reported the failure but the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. Fe.

I have 2018 Ford f150 raptor edition and have had nothing but issues with it since purchasing the vehicle in November of 2017 brand new. Currently the engine is blown and it has been in and out of service for over 118 days since purchase. I was driving on the expressway, first day after getting truck back from 28 day service and the engine oil pressure light came on again which is why it was in service. I called the dealer and Ford and they advised to keep driving until they heard back from the Ford hotline. A week or so later it was broke down smoking on the side of the highway. In addition there have been numerous other problems.
