Rear window Ford part number 1542006 - back window glass has 1" cracks in glass where the glass connects to the body on the left passenger side of the crew cab. Cracks have caused leaks into the cab interior and has caused the modem, mounted behind the rear passenger set on the back wall to stop working as water has infiltrated the electronics. Vehicle was inspected at dealership and their 3rd party glass leak specialists discovered the cracks in the glass connection. I have no idea as to how long this has been going on, estimate a few months as I recently discovered I could not communicate with the vehicle through the Ford connect app and called Ford connect, they identified an issue with the modem and when I pulled back the upholstery to see, there was water dripping inside the vehicle. Unknown if cracks will propagate, however they are leaking when it rains. I will be replacing the glass to prevent further leaks from occurring. I have extended warranty through Ford and "glass" is not covered. Reached out to Ford care and they would not cover. Suggested that I put in a report here so that if later recall or other action, I might be able to get refund for the repair that I am now going to have to pay for to replace the glass and possibly the modem. No other symptoms other than the filaure of the modem that alerted to the issue.
Passenger side cowl seal failure. The passenger side cowl seal fails. When this happens water can enter the vehicle and pour into the bcm (body control module). Once water enters the bcm, it creates corrosion and will needs to be replaced along with the reprograming of all the keys. This is available upon request. My safety and the safety of others is put at risk because when water enters the bcm it causes the computer to short out. When this happens the horn will start beeping and the lights start flashing. This also sets off the vehicles security system. This happens when the vehicle is parked and turned off and when the vehicle is in motion. This puts people at risk because their security system will go off and will make owners think that their vehicle is being vandalized. While the vehicle is in motion the risk is that the horn is on and the lights are flashing making other motorists distracted and potentially causing accidents. The problem has been confirmed and reproduced by the dealer. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and an new seal needs to be installed. There were no warnings until the issue started creating a very scary driving experience in which the horn was on and the lights were flashing. The only way to make it stop was to disconnect the battery rendering the vehicle unfit for the road.
I purchased this truck as a Ford blue certified vehicle with 6,800 miles. Driving home, I heard a loud rattle coming from the front passenger door area that was consistent on all road types. Upon further inspection, I found that the crash bar inside the front passenger door was not fastened. It requires a paint cutting acorn nut, and it is clear from the intact paint on all of the stud threads that it was never fastened at the factory. I do not know how this may have affected the function of the crash bar in the event of a side impact. I repaired it myself and did not take the vehicle to a dealer for inspection.
Rear left (driver side) door would not unlock in the morning. Temps were below freezing and ice was built up on the windows and body of the truck. The door did not unlock until after the I arrived at my destination, approx 30 min away. Once the truck was warmed up, the door was able to unlock.
The drivers door handle was built in such a manner it leads to easy vehicle break ins. Criminals have determined it is very easy to beak door lock tumbler and open the door thru the vertical rod. This all occurs without setting off the security system of the vehicle.
There is a serious design flaw with this truck that allows water to enter the passenger side cab via a Ford designed hole where the condensate drain exits the fire wall, the water causes severe mold to form and fester bc the water keeps coming, my vehicle is at the dealership now and fully admits even through report that this is a design flaw. Last I checked mold was not a good thing to be encapsulated in a cab with. Further more not only is the mold there but the intake for the hvac system sits right there as well sucking the tainted air in and redistributing it through the vehicle.
Rear window exploded. No impact. Remote started my truck, cold out so rear defrost was on from the remote start. Go in truck shut the door and before I could press the start button (it was running from the remote start but still have to press the start button) the rear window exploded shattering everywhere except for the power slider. After some internet research, this appears to be a common problem with F-150's which Ford refuses to acknowledge.
I purchased my 2019 Ford f150 used in October of 2022 directly from my local Ford dealership. At the time of purchase the tailgate handle did not work properly. The tailgate handle would stick in the open/unlatched position. If you closed the tailgate with the handle in the open/unlatched position the tailgate would fall down. If the falling tailgate struck a child in the head, it could cause injury or death. I purchased a new tailgate handle. The torsion spring and hinge pins on the new handle are coated in grease. The spring and pins on the old tailgate handle are rusted. I still have the old tailgate handle and it is available for inspection.
The touch sensitive door control for the side passenger door intermittently operates. This creates a hazardous situation when trying to enter the vehicle when parked on the street and the vehicle remains locked. An owner has to retreat, find the key fob and unlock the door remotely. The touch system is erratic and does not give any warning when it malfunctions. Same issue with trying to lock the door but not as hazardous since one is moving away from the vehicle.
Tailgate has fallen twice on its own. This issue has been a red all for models years prior to 2019.
Vehicle was sitting vacant in a parking lot. Something in the dash, possibly behind the touch screen, exploded and caught the vehicle on fire. The vehicle is totaled.
The evaporator cord went bad before I even owned my brand new truck for a year causing water to leak under the passenger dash and under the carpet which caused a significant amount of mold to grow through the cab. This is not yet a recall, but Ford knew that this was as issue in these trucks and still sold it to us. There are at least 3 in for the same issue at our local dealership.
All 4 doors creak when opening from half open to full open. I can hear the creaking coming from the hinges and the door check rods. It started at aprx 6000 miles 3 months ago with the driver front door only. Then progressed to all 4 doors. I now have 9460 miles.
Truck was approximately one year old with 13,500 miles and when I would start the truck, with the a/c on, you would get a strong smell of vinegar coming from the vents. The smell would go away after a couple seconds. While cleaning the truck I realized the front passenger side floor mat was wet as well. Brought the truck to the dealership multiple times. They originally worked on the a/c and after several visits they had to change the carpet of the truck due to the dampness. Same issues continued and I was told they found a leaky door seal, which would explain the dampness on the floor, but not the smell from the vents. Dealership returned the car, with the intake not put together correctly (pictures attached), and 48 hours later the floor was wet again and the smell was still there when starting the truck. Issues have not been resolved at this time time.
Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was at stand still at a parking lot, when the security alarm was activated. The contact stated he saw the tail gate was open and once the was able to close the tail gate, the security alarm deactivated. The contact stated he had experience the failure multiple times. The vehicle was taken to local dealer gullo Ford of conroe located at 925 interstate 45 s, conroe, TX 77301, where they were unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 8,800. Dp.
Door locks on all 4 doors freeze up when below 20 deg. F the doors will not latch I have to use a wratchet strap or bunge cord to hold them closed. Vehicle can not be locked for security when parked until it is placed in a heated garage to thaw. Doors will swing open when driving. Danger to my grandkids being ejected or falling out. A minor traffic accident could be fatal to any of the occupants.
Excessive oil consumption. I am a quart low at just under 2000 mi. Timing chain rattle during deceleration when cold. Warped dash panel passenger side.
Driver side door doesn't latch periodically and therefore will not stay closed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving in the rain water was present coming into the passenger side of the vehicle causing a visibility hazard to the driver. The contact indicated that during the failure the front windshield and side mirror would remain fogged. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer walker Ford(17556 us. Hwy 19 north, clearwater FL) who diagnosed a failure in the roof caused during manufacturing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4000. Jft.
Observed that there was a substantial body crack in the top section of the driver's side a pillar near the front windshield. This was observed when drying the vehicle after washing it. The vehicle was stationary.
I bought my 2019 Ford f 150 4x4 supercrew appx 1 month ago from pompano Ford. I noticed 2 days ago the drivers side door hinge makes a cracking noise when opening / closing (while stationary). It sounds like the hinge is coming a loose and mat present danger when keeping the door closed. I cannot tell if the noise is coming from the part of the hinge that is attached to the door, or the part that is attached to the body of the truck. I have not yet taken it to the dealer, but I plan to do it tomorrow.
Extremely dangerous vehicle. 2019 F-150 super cab purchased brand new on 12/07/18 doors have popped open several times while driving. At other times the doors will not close and latch at all. . Many times the doors appear to be closed, yet when you push on them they pop open. I quickly learned to push on the doors before I drive away. The door latches should be designed not just to operate correctly, but also designed well enough to stay closed in a vehicle accident. While the doors on this brand new vehicle will not even stay closed under normal driving conditions about long term and current Ford shareholder and retired federal employee who worked some of my 36 years of federal civil service in vehicle maintenance. This is not a latch mechanism lubrication problem. It is a bad design flaw, combined with a cheap plastic latch strike mechanism inside the door latch. Doors popping open while vehicle is in motion makes it a highly dangerous vehicle that should not be allowed to be even sold.
