The contact stated that after a visual inspection, he observed that the front passenger side tire rib was cracked and separating from the tire body, exposing the tire wiring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure but determined the failure to be an abnormal safety hazard. The tire was replaced, but the contact had since observed the failure occurring in the remaining tires. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact was informed by the news of a national recall for cooper tires and contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed that the tires were on the recall list. The contact contacted tire kingdom (1485 e mitchell hammock rd, oviedo, FL 32765) who informed the contact that he would need to pay the difference for new cooper tires of a different tire line. The contact stated that he should not have to pay for the new tires since the recall stated that the dealer would replace the affected tires, free of charge.
