1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2026

Windshield wipers are only working on the slowest setting, regardless of the position of the speed. Safety is put at risk as it cannot keep up with the rain. The dealer has reproduced the issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. There are no warning lamps.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2025

The rear camera goes blank when put in reverse. The screen shows "rear camera not available". There were multiple recalls for rear view camera system but my year and model is not included. A lot of same complaints on the web regarding the same issue.

3 Wiper problem

My windshield wiper/motor/assembly just stopped working. To make it worse, it stopped in the middle of a rain/snow storm.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2025

Wipers only run at a slow speed. . . Not enough power to keep up with rain or snow.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2025

Wipers quite intermittently in rain or when using windshield washer could not see clearly problem intermittent dealer said wiper motor yes no warning just quit problem same as in recall nhtsa22v-142 on f150 2021 and 2022 and recall 22v842.

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

Wiper transmission corroded and seized causing it to burn out my wiper motor. Fixed and looked at by local Ford dealer and issue is the seized wiper transmission but not under the recall numbers for the same issue in other f150 (2015-2020 f150 assembled in canada) which mine is. How can I get reimbursed for the cost which should be covered under that recall.

7 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2024

Western NY, driving on interstate 86 during a heavy rain, windshield wipers failed. They initially quit working making visibility impossible. Crawled to rest area on shoulder of highway with flashers going. Planned on spending night in truck until daybreak. Eventually rain lightened up, turned truck and wipers on once again. At first, they twitched every few seconds. Eventually, they wiped one cycle, very, very slowly every 5+ seconds. Occasionally starting and stopping.

8 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2024

This afternoon while getting ready to leave church, I pulled my truck forward about 10 feet with no issues in order to load some things in the truck bed before taking off. The truck started up just fine, and the starter sounded just as strong as it always does, indicating the battery was of good health. Upon starting the vehicle less than 5 minutes later the engine would not start due to a dead battery - or so that's what the symptoms led me to believe anyway. I heard some clicks, but no starter motor activity, then saw a warning on my radio screen stating "turn ignition off or start engine. " this could have been at a stoplight, leaving me as a stalled vehicle in the middle of the road had it happened in conjunction with the auto start/stop that shuts off the engine when stopped for a short period of time. I have not yet taken the truck into a dealership to have this issue looked at. This appears to be a resurfacing problem from about 2 years ago when I had electrical issues where my radio would not turn off as I got to work one morning - even though the ignition had been turned off and the driver door was open. The radio was still running when I got back to the truck in the afternoon. I was able to drive home that day, but with limited functionality of the truck. It was during a heavy rain, and the rear brake lights would not work, and the windshield wipers would not turn on. When I went down the next morning to take it into the dealership, I had to get it jump started, as the battery had died from the radio running all night long. When I got it jump started, the truck acted normally again, and I took it into the dealership and explained all of this, but they turned me away, as they told me there was nothing they could do to fix the problem if the symptoms had disappeared. There were no warnings before either of these episodes. This appears to be an electrical system failure. This problem has not been reproduced. The vehicle has not been inspected by a professional.

9 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2024

Windshield wipers suddenly stopped working on a trip and I had to drive without wipers in snow and slush, which was difficult. I took apart the wiper assembly and the center, passenger side wiper shaft was frozen solid with corrosion, I had to drill 2 holes in the casting to get lubrication on the shaft to free it up in order to get home. From what I see online this appears to be a common problem.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2024

Rear glass in sliding window shattered to pieces while driving.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2023

Window wipers slowed down and finally quit working during a rain event.

12 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2023

I was driving and the windshield wipers started wiping on their own. It was not raining and the windshield wiper setting was on off. This caused dirt and debris on the windshield to smear and I could not see where I was driving. For the next few days windshield wipers would randomly turn on on their own. It svwrely affected visibility. I read online that this was a common issue due to a malfunctioning windshield wiper switch. I replaced the switch and am hoping this doesn't happen again.

13 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2023

Drivers side wiper arm is visibly loose. It does not make constant contact with the windshield engine consumes 3 quarts of oil in less then 2k miles, it currently has 57,818 on odometer, has been regularly serviced Ford recommend 91 or above octane to curve “pinging and pre detonation”. Have run 91 octane fuel for last 5 tanks and continues to misfire and ping between 1500-2000 rpms while under no load besides the weight of the vehicle.

14 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2023

Rearview camera system malfunction. Randomly sync screen stays black. Randomly vehicle continues to show rear camera even though vehicle is driving forward. Problem started around April 2023 at 60,000 miles.

15 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2023

Back glass shattered for no reason , alone on a state highway with no houses and other traffic . Thousands of not hundreds of thousands of other people have had the same thing happen to them in f150s for years apparently. A quick google search didn’t take long to read hundreds of other f150 owners sharing the same experience . Ford refuses to accept responsibility for what is an obvious design flaw. Broken shards of glass flying around in the cab . Luckily I didn’t have my grandson in the backseat today.

16 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2023

After purchasing my truck, it was discovered that the back up camera doesn't work. It will work on occasion when the truck is put in reverse. The safety for myself or others is that I cannot see behind me when backing up. I have not taken the vehicle in for an inspection since I have been told that this is an issue for other Ford f150's in the same year. When backing up my screen says camera not available.

17 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2022

Backup camera stopped functioning properly. This vehicle has not been recalled although a lot of other from the same model year have for this issue, I believe it is more widespread than Ford is claiming.

18 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2022

Wiper arm fails to operate due to the index splines not holding up and failing prematurely. Part did not include a shear pin to prevent issue from arrising. Ford has a recall on the part but is not including all vehicles that have this part. (info confirmed by service/parts managers and Ford customer support) Ford is also canceling any and all orders with that part number and refusing to supply that part.

19 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2021

Back window is shattered with no force. You can see it pushing outwards. Still cracking as I'm writing this.

20 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2021

When I put my vehicle into reverse, I get a warning that the backup camera is inoperable. Ford already has a recall on some backup cameras but refuses to address mine because of the VIN not being on their list. Others at risk? whenever I need to back out of a parking space. The onboard computer should have the records of the many times the camera was needed but not working. I am unable to afford the cost of a service call as I am a senior citizen.

21 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2021

My rear window with defroster shattered when I shut the door on my f150 today. It was without warning and the temperature was mild and the truck was parked under a carport overnight. Now I have no back glass. I'll report my issue to Ford ASAP.

22 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2021

2019 Ford F-150 was turned on using remote start feature. I allowed the truck to run for about 10 minutes before getting into the driver seat. When I closed my driver side door, the rear windshield shattered. I immediately exited the vehicle and took photos of the shattered glass. Broken glass fell into my back seat and even into the bed of the truck. Thankfully no one was sitting in the back passenger seats. My local Ford dealership, where I am leasing said vehicle from, advised me to bring the truck in so they could have a look at it. I advised them that the back windshield was falling apart and glass was continuing to fall into the back seat and into the outside bed/trunk. A service advisor told me they can’t do anything unless I bring it in. I sent them the photos I took and clarified to them that the window will surely break apart more if I drive it. The dealership said that’s fine, just bring it in. I wrapped the back windshield, best as I could, with garbage bags. As to not allow for the falling glass to come into the vehicle and strike me or others while driving. When I arrived at my local Ford dealership, a service advisor told me that I was not the first case of this occurring. The service advisor told me she has seen quite a few Ford F-150’s come in with owners complaining about spontaneous shattering of the back windshield. I asked her what is the cause of such an unusual occurrence. The service advisor told me it had to do with the rear window defroster. My rear window defroster was turned on and active at the time and moment the back window shattered. The remote start feature for the truck, always turns the rear defroster on. A quick online search, will also prove that Ford has been neglecting this issue and has not been willing to help their customers fix their back windshields. This is absolutely unacceptable and an enormous safety hazard. Not only for passengers within the vehicle but motorist on roadways, who happen to be driving behind the truck.

23 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2019

The rear view mirror in my vehicle directly obstructs the lanes of right hand traffic when at a stop. This is particularly at an intersection where 4 lanes are used each direction. I almost hit a car this morning at a 4 way if it had not been for my wife next to me. I realized that Ford has moved the rear view mirror to almost center windshield to accommodate sensors located in the upper windshield area. I am what would be considered average height (6 feet). Even after adjusting the mirror as high as possible, vision is obstructed. I recently had a left hand crash in my 2016 F-150 where crossing traffic was at an angle and never saw the oncoming car. I believe now this situation is no coincidence as I encountered the issue with my 2019 replacement vehicle. I am an engineer and deal with issues of ergonomics and vison in my industry and can say that this certainly needs investigation as a cause to crashes. I will be consulting with my Ford dealership soon to see if this situation can be corrected by moving my mirror higher on the windshield. 24 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving in the rain water was present coming into the passenger side of the vehicle causing a visibility hazard to the driver. The contact indicated that during the failure the front windshield and side mirror would remain fogged. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer walker Ford(17556 us. Hwy 19 north, clearwater FL) who diagnosed a failure in the roof caused during manufacturing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4000. Jft.

25 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2019

Brand new truck with rain sensing wipers. Rain sensing function does not work. First time it rained the wipers would not swipe to clean windshield. The only functions that would work were hi and off and when you turned the wipers off they would stop at random places like directly in the middle of the glass. The rain sensing positions (between hi and off) would mostly do nothing but occasionally would do random things, none of which helped clean the windshield (either not enough swipes in heavy rain or too many swipes when it wasn't raining). There are settings in the software to turn the rain sensing off but it had no effect. We took truck to dealer. They replaced switch assembly fl3z*13k359. Had no effect. Wipers still act the same. This, in my opinion, is a safety hazard, because you cannot get the wipers to swipe properly when needed for one, and also when you finally turn them off they routinely stop directly in the drivers line of vision. Also there appears to be no manual backup.

26 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2019

I've been dealing with a vibration/shaking in my factory driver side mirror at high speeds and on bumpy roads since I got my truck in may 2019 (over three years). No issue on the passenger side. I've dealt with it off and on with the dealer as time and life have allowed. Currently I'm on my fourth mirror and have a case manager from Ford corporate. I have attached some of my correspondence with them for your reference. My problem is that the driver side shaking is very bad. It's distracting at high speeds and at night when headlights are shining behind you, it can be like a light show in the corner of your eye while driving. After much trial and error, I believe the vibration is coming from the articulation point between where the arm that comes off the truck connects with the arm that supports the mirror. Where it folds in basically. There isn't anything that can be adjusted, that particular area is all enclosed. I'm on my second dealer after the first claimed the mirror was fine. I took the truck for a drive with the foreman at the new dealer who confirmed he could see the issue. They ordered me a new mirror again and after installing it sure enough the new one shakes just like the prior ones have. The dealer said they had a regional service tech from Ford drive it after the new mirror went on and this person told them the shaking was normal. I'm talking with the case manager from Ford also and they are investigating what to do since there's clearly (in my opinion) some sort of defect with this part but no recall or fix has been made to my knowledge. I may be elevated to their legal team. At issue currently, I have asked my case manager from Ford whether they can have someone such as an engineer or safety team examine the part and assess whether the mirror design is faulty but they have no one in their company. The case manager claims to not know if Ford has a team like this. The dealerships didn't design the part so they can't assess whether it's flawed.
