37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

Took my vehicle into a local Ford dealership and told them that there was rattling coming out of the engine bay. Provided the service advisor with multiple videos as well as took him for a drive to show him the sound. Advised that it happens at startup and on deceleration after the turbo has spooled. Technician who worked on it left it out in a hail storm which caused over $8k in damages and then proceeded to tell me that there were rocks in my skid plate which is what caused the rattle. To this day it still is not fixed. Additionally the following TSB's have been identified as a potential rattle point; however, I believe it to be the wastegate. Gear shifter stuck in d with amber light blinking constantly. At the same time, the amber wrench symbol appeared on the dash, with "service vehicle soon" warning message. This indicates a powertrain malfunction/reduced power issue. Vehicle towed to nearest Ford dealer (scenic Ford, mount airy, nc) with about 225 miles on odometer. I purchased this new '24 lightning lariat [xxx] online, and picked it up at sheehy Ford in gaithersburg, MD [xxx], with 47 miles on odometer. The above issues occurred [xxx] as I was driving the vehicle home from maryland to my home in georgia. These problems occurred the same day I drove the new vehicle off the dealer lot. Additionally, the gear shifter has never folded down as its meant to fold down, enabling a flat work surface between the two front seats. This situation was present at sheehy Ford when I picked it up brand new on [xxx]. I have an appointment at my local dealer, akins Ford, winder, GA, may 14, 2025 at 10am to have these issues assessed. 44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2025

Involved in total loss of truck and trailer April 11. 2025 by possible rear axle bolts breaking while hauling a trailer causing loss of control, violent trailer sway, difficulty braking and steering resulting in a wreck. We were towing our RV trailer when the wreck happened. We were lucky to be able to walk away because the trailer ended up on its right side and the truck on its roof. If this happens to other drivers injuries or fatalities are possible. Ford issued a safety recall August 2025. We were not aware of the possibility of the axle bolts breaking until the safety recall letter was received August 25, 2025. When the wreck accrued there were no prior symptoms of a problem. A walk around inspection was done minutes before the wreck.

47 Power Train problem

My 2024 Ford F-150 raptor v6, a brand-new vehicle purchased on [xxx], has accumulated 767 miles. On the evening of [xxx] in orange county, California, while driving on the freeway at approximately 75 miles per hour, I experienced an unexpected issue. Everything appeared normal, and there were no warning lights on the instrument cluster indicating any problems with the truck. However, a few miles before exiting the freeway, I received a message through the Ford pass app, accompanied by a warning on the instrument cluster that read, “drivetrain malfunction, reduced power. ” despite the warning, I continued driving cautiously until I reached my home. Upon pulling into my driveway, I scanned my vehicle for error codes, which revealed the following: p0929-77 gear shift lock solenoid/actuator circuit "a" range/performance u211b-87 control module message authentication b1578-89 digital park assist camera vision system u023a-00 lost communication with image processing module a u0415-00 invalid data received from anti-lock brake system (abs) control module "a" u102f-00 invalid internal control module monitoring data received from all wheel drive control module the code that triggered the check engine light, as indicated by my vehicle’s scanning app, is p0929-77. On December 31st, I took the vehicle to caruso Ford in long beach, California, for diagnosis. Unfortunately, caruso Ford is currently unable to pinpoint the fault. The tech who examined my vehicle believes it’s an electrical issue rather than mechanical. I hope to receive an update on my vehicle by Tuesday, January 7th. 48 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2024

The vehicle based in this report is a 2024 Ford F-150 platinum with a power boost drivetrain, which is a hybrid system. I purchased this vehicle new in December of 2024 from dewey Ford in ankeny, IA and it has accumulated approximately 6,000 miles on the vehicle. I have been expeiriencing probems starting at around 900 miles on the vehicle. The issue is that the vehicle experiences a significant surge just before stopping. This occurs when the vehicle is operating on electric drive and before coming to a stop, the gasoline engine will engage at a high rpm. The result is that it creates a surge or bump in the vehicle drivetrain and without your foot securely on the brake it would push you into an instersection, potentially impacting other vehicles. The issue is intermittent and varies in severity which is also a concern as you never know when it will occur. On three three seperate occasions I took the vehicle to the selling dealer and I keep being told this is normal operation. After the third attempt, I insisted the service manager of the delaership ride with me to experience the issue. After he experienced the surge/bump, he agreed to get Ford engineering involved. After two weeks I was told by the dealer again that this is normal operation for the vehicle. Not satisfied I contacted Ford's customer care center (case #[xxx]) requesting a buy back of the vehicle under my state's lemon law regulations. As a result they sent a field service engineer to the dealer and checked out the vehicle and again was told this is normal operation. I don't allow anyone else to drive the vehicle over concerns that the surge/bump may create a situation where the driver would panic when experiencing the surge/bump when stopping. At this point the issue is a safety concern and I am concerned it could lead to an accident. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2024

The vehicle moved forward with the shifter set in reverse. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because the vehicle moved in the opposite direction from that indicated both by the position of the shifter and by the audible backup warning. Pressing the accelerator caused the vehicle to move forward instead of reverse. This problem has not yet been reported to manufacturer. There were no warning lamps or messages. All indicators were normal. This occurred while parallel parking in a tight space between two cars on the left side of the road. I backed in as far as I could go to the car behind, then turned the wheel and pulled in close to the car in front. I repeated the back and forth two more times to align the vehicle with the curb. At this point the shifter was in drive position and vehicle was close to the car in front. I shifted to reverse and gently pressed the accelerator to move away from the car in front. Instead, the vehicle moved forward and bumped the car in front. I applied the brake, shifted to park, then shifted to reverse. Again, the vehicle moved forward and bumped the car in front. I applied the brake and shifted into drive, then into reverse. Again the vehicle moved forward. The audible backup warning could be heard whenever the shifter was in reverse, and it stopped when taken out of reverse. At this point I turned off the vehicle. I started it again about a minute later. At this point it shifted correctly. I shifted to reverse and the vehicle moved backward as expected. I was able to finish parking as usual.
