Four problems related to exterior rearview mirror have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On June 25, 2003 consumer was driving on a wet road at 35 mph when the driver's side mirror was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Consumer was struck in the face by the plastic casing surrounding the glass mirror.
The exterior rear view mirrors do not extend outward far enough to allow for safe rear vision, especially when towing standard 8' trailer. Design error not a malfunction.
Exterior rear view mirrors do not extend out far enough from truck so that driver can have a good view. Mirrors do not cover the blind spots. Dealer has been contacted.
