Two problems related to diesel fuel system tank assembly have been reported for the 2000 Ford F-450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2000 Ford f450 super duty. The contact stated while driving at speeds of 60 mph, the vehicle began abnormally exhibiting signs of stalling and the contact was able to move the vehicle off the roadway before doing so. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the dealer. The dealer advised the fuel tank would need to be replaced. The contact stated the fuel pump was previously replaced due to excessive rust and blockage for the fuel injector. The vehicle was not repaired because the necessary parts were on backorder. The manufacturer advised they would contact her when the part became available. The failure and current mileages were 60,000.
: the contact stated the vehicle lost power while driving under normal conditions. The contact, a mechanic for fleet, determined the fuel tank lining was coming apart and getting into the fuel system. The fuel tank needed to be replaced.
