One problem related to engine and engine cooling has been reported for the 2000 Ford F-450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I've had two spark plugs blow out in the last five hundred mile in my 2000 F-450. I've got to say its a real hazard to be hauling a load, suddenly loose drastic power and be rattled by the abrupt spark plug explosion. Not only that, but the fuel rail is right there. In fact the second spark plug I had eject made a series of explosions while I was traveling up hill on a very busy narrow road pulling my chipper. Both times I smelt a strong and consistent odor of fuel, another hazard. Both times the truck hesitated and attempted staling while in travel. The Ford dealership tells me this is a common occurrence, and say Ford know about the problem but doesn't care. Experiencing this first hand; twice now, I can tell you this issue is with out a doubt the most hazardous unprovoked vehicle hazard I've ever encountered.
