Tire Sidewall Problems of Ford F-450

225/70r 19. 5 cont hybrid hd3. Truck is a 2021 f450 dually pickup. Mileage on the oem tires is about 20,000 miles. The tire "blew out" while pulling a horse trailer with 7 horses on board. I personally checked tire pressure before departure. Our driver was able to get to safety without harm. Had the blow out occurred on a front tire, the results could have been catastrophic. Road side assistance told us he has had 3 other tires, same truck, same tire, same age, blow out in the last 7 days. I know from your site and consumer reports, continental has a huge recall campaign for blow outs. Also there is "0" inventory of this tire for us to replace our bad tire, due to high failure rates. Right front tire threw its tread while driving on the highway. No warning vibrations or noises prior to the incident. Tire failure caused the truck to veer hard right across three lanes of highway traffic but managed to avoid any collisions. Tire was oem. We have noticed that the front tire sidewalls get too hot to touch after highway trips (the rear ones do not). The failed tire still had 3/4" of unused tread. We verify pressures before each trip (110 psi frt) and have never taken the truck off-road. We tow with it but it's the same rig we towed with a 2004 f350 sd with no problems. The tire info is not in the dropdown menu but the size is 225/70r19. 5, it's a designated steer axle tire on an alcoa rim (Ford oe) dot code is a39y1xl0607. Consumer has five trucks and each has general/continental 225/70r 19. 5 model lmt 400. Tire blowouts at sidewall. No accident or injuries yet, but some very close calls.

While driving at 60 mph two rear tires had a blowout at sidewalls. Original equipment, 8700 miles mounted on a 2000, Ford, 450 truck. Consumer stated that he replaced four tires but general tires will not replace any tires, they claim that Ford mounted them incorrectly.

Side of tire blew out as if sidewall was cut out, saw valve stem gone, replaced a four tires.
