The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while attempting to activate the headlights, the headlights failed to respond. The contact stated that several attempts were needed for the headlights to become operable. However, the failure reoccurred, and the low beam headlights failed to function as needed. The contact checked the high beam headlights and high-beam headlights functioned properly. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to customer satisfaction program number: 19b22 - corrosion due to road salts in the battery junction box (electrical system, visibility). The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.
2012 Ford Fiesta check engine light on codes reading O2 sensors, catalytic intake, misfires, fuel injection, etc. I have had my Fiesta at 3 mechanics all very known for there reliability all diagnosing it different issue recommending me to go to dealership which I was turned away because the recalls for the vehicle isn’t an issue for any of the possible diagnostics. Single mother of 3 now no vehicle, no money and no way of providing without transportation. Less than 150,000 miles owned less than two years and the amount of money put into the vehicle Ford should be ashamed. Shuddering and accelerating issue was told clutch and transmission issue but no help or actual known diagnosis since Ford won’t diagnose the suspected diagnosis from any of the mechanics I have taken the vehicle to and they can’t for sure diagnose it until Ford confirms the diagnosis since this is a known issue. They also sent me two recalls but refused to fix the recalls because I wasn’t 100% sure my vehicle needed the repair and threatened to charge me 150 diagnostic charge for the recall after I already poured my heart out to them about the issue I can’t seem to even get repaired due to there lack of care care as a manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving at 70 mph at night, the low beams headlights stopped working. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he engaged the high beams and continued driving. The contact, who is an electrician, diagnosed that the relay that controlled the low beams was corroded in the battery junction box. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he would need to pay a repair fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford campaign number: 19b22. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The transmission is slipping and jerking. I can't change gears without a issue and the car stops. The engine revs even when I am not going fast. The transmission says it is overheating and I got my fan fixed months ago and had done it before but seemed to repair itself so I thought.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph at night, the low-beam headlamps failed to operate as needed. The contact mentioned that the high beam was needed to be able to see the roadway correctly. The dealer was not contacted. The contact was a mechanic and diagnosed that there was corrosion on the junction box that caused the failure of the headlamps. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.
Transmission malfunction, this is the 4th time that I am having to replace the transmission. I am taking the car back to dealership to get the transmission fixed for the 5th time. The car jerks when it comes to a stop. Hard time accelerating or does not accelerate. I put the car in r and it did not budge at all, even turned the car off and turned it back on same thing. This car should not be permitted on the road. Does not shift gears properly, the rpm run very high. I am afraid to drive this car constantly, even after I get it out of the shop because I just know that the transmission will eventually malfunction on me again. Very unsafe and unreliable to drive.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that occasionally there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not restart. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure still occurred. The contact then towed the vehicle to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with nothing needing to be replaced. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
It started with a loud thud sound while driving. It was as if something hit or fell on the car. Scary loud sounds from the car used to happen randomly at anytime. I had to stop the car, get out and check what fell or hit the car but every time I checked there was no mark or scratch or sign of something hitting. Sounds were so sudden and loud that someone could easily be shocked and lose control of the car. After such repeated incidents of loud thumping sounds I thought that it was the speakers (part of cars standard audio system) that was making the sound. I thought that the problem can be temporarily solved by turning off the audio system. But it was not so. Car kept making disturbing noises even with the audio system turned off. Over time it got worse and more frequent. It scares kids and other CO-passengers. Knowing how disturbingly and dangerously sudden these noises are I absolutely cannot lend my car to any family member or friend to drive on their own. They could lose control of the car harming themselves or others. Now it does long crackling, popping and thumping sounds even when the car itself is off ignition. I am holding the car keys, am outside the car, it makes crackling sounds on simply opening and shutting the doors of the car. . Read more...
Low beams don't work, replaced bulbs and didn't fix checked relay and it was corroded and one of the pins is now stuck in the box. It was stationary.
The headlights do not work on the low beam setting. Found the headlight relay to have heavy corrosion. The front most terminal has corroded off of the relay entirely and is now stuck in the electrical box under the hood of the car. I noticed this condition when I was driving home on the highway in the early evening just before sunset. I was able to arrive at home before the lack of light caused any unsafe driving conditions. The fuse is designated r11 on the electrical box. Improper sealing of the electrical box has led to moisture be aloud in causing damages. Faulty construction from manufacturer.
My headlights stopped working and after I replaced the bulbs, the problem persisted. After further diagnostics, it was determined that my car had a corroded relay junction. It ended up costing almost $2000 to repair. I heard from the mechanic and reports on line that other people have been having the same issue for this make and model so I thought it would be worth reporting.
My 2012 Ford Fiesta has no filtration system to prevent salt and moisture from getting into the engine fuse box. Last year, a mechanic rewired the fuse box low beam relay to a different fuse, now the corrosion has started up again. This forces me to use my high beams until I have to replace the whole fuse box, which is expensive and causes me to be unsafe until I fix the problem. I've seen other instances of this online.
The exact time of the incident is unknown. I had not driven my car at night for at least two weeks before I tried to turn on my low beam head lights when I was parked in a friend's driveway at night. My car's low-beam headlights did not turn on. Upon further inspection it was discovered that the light bulbs were undamaged, but the relay had become corroded. When the relay was removed the corroded prong broke off (or otherwise remained) in the fuse box. Now there is no way to replace the relay, because of the prong in the fuse box. My low beams do not work. My turn signals and my high beams still function, but it is not safe to drive at night with only high beams. So, this is a safety issue. Below is a picture of the corroded relay prong in the fuse box. The prong is blue/green and is located in the upper left hand of the picture. Recently in canada, there was a recall for the same problem for similar Ford Fiestas.
The low beam lights work intermittently. They shut off while driving. This causes an unsafe condition for the driver, passengers, pedestrians and oncoming vehicles. This happens both while the vehicle is stationary and in motion. It happens in all weather conditions and temperatures. It occurs both during city driving conditions and highway driving conditions. There seems to be a short between the headlight, the vehicle fuse box and the headlight on and off switch. The high beam system is not affected by this problem. Lights have been changed and fuses have been changed.
Stationary vehicle: unsealed engine compartment fuse box led to corrosion of the headlamp relay terminals. Result was intermittent headlamp function eventually followed by complete headlamp failure. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.
Ford Fiesta 2012 has several problems with the transmission, first the car jerks around and makes a horrible noises. Then the car shuts off randomly while driving. This car is a safety hazard. Stalling and jerking around is not what a car should do. Plus both backseat latches both broke and the doors were unable to close.
Headlights are going out while I am driving. . . It's the juction box. I'm unable to upload any photos. . Juction box relays are corroded. This started 2019 and most recent two weeks ago. . I'm so afraid.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25-30 mph, without warning the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to winner Ford, 250 haddonfield-berlin rd, cherry hill, NJ 08034, (856) 428-4000, to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred four times. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Ah.
I was driving down a city street in my friend's 2012 Ford Fiesta I noticed a weird smell, I kept going about a quarter of a mile til I reached my destination. My friend gets in the car he noticed the smell . I looked out the windshield and I see a lil smoke coming from the hood, all the sudden alot of smoke comes out . I pop the hood shut the car off and get out of there . My friend runs and grabs fire extinguishers him and another man try to open the hood it won't open you could see the flames coming underneath the car then there is a pop . They take a shovel beat on it enough to open it enough where they could put the fire out. Thank god they were there,no one got hurt. I am enclosing pictures of my car, my friend didn't have full coverage insurance so he's without a car right now . All this happened within 10 min. It was very scarey, I'm glad I stopped at my friend's place because I might not have made it out in time. We didn't make a police report nor did we call the fire department . A piece of the car was laying on the ground after the fire. The hood release burned . That's why we couldn't get the hood open . I am sending pictures after the fire . The car lights and the security system still works and it started right after, we turned it off right away.
I have a 2012 Ford Fiesta which has had nothing but problems over the course of the time I've had the car. On the Thursday before the memorial day weekend I put the car into reverse and the car wouldn't stop. We were going very slow and thank goodness didn't hit anything. We hit a curb behind us that stopped the car. I shifted into drive and it moved forward. We took it into the dealership that next morning and they replaced the brake master cylinder and the clutch. I've done multiple warranty claims & I've had ongoing trans/clutch issues that finally resulted with as replacement last month. Now the car is no longer jerking and slipping but it's slower with decreased gas mileage. I've had a sync issue/ radio electrical issue and took it in multiple times, it's still not fixed. Recently the radio/sync completely fails but it's intermittent. Now I'm being told that because the sync/radio issue is intermittent, I have to wait until it's not working completely to take it in. In the last 6 weeks the car has been in twice for brake issues, (I took it back twice in the same day + trans replacement) then again two weeks later. I'm on the third time to the dealership over the sync system in the last year, that is still not fixed.
Recently my Fiesta has been shutting off while driving. It is a manual transmission and I am not stalling. It happens most often while driving at low speeds or switching gears. It is very dangerous and scary.
Door latches to not work when I was drivin my left door in the back open wide had one accident of it.
I have performed routine maintenance on my car for years. The other day the headlights stopped working suddenly and without warning. The issue ended up being in the fuse box under the hood, which is allowing salt and sand to enter the fuse box without any filtration system of any sort. The low beam relay had completely corroded because of particles getting into the fuse box. We are lucky it is just the lights so far, but unfortunately one of the prongs for the relay was so corroded that it broke off inside the plug. Now, because of Ford's poor design of this device, we have to replace the whole fuse box and everything to which it is attached. This is at least a $1300 job. This could have been a different relay that controls a more essential function of the car but thank goodness we found it when it was affecting the headlights only.
Electrical short of powertrain control module.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. While the vehicle was idling at a red light with the brake pedal depressed, it spontaneously accelerated. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact had to turn the vehicle off in order to stop. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and then towed the following day to automax Ford (3301 e central texas expressway, killeen, TX 76543) where the total control module was reprogrammed. The contact also stated that the failure occurred two other times since July of 2018. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and filed case number: cas-15591505. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
The fuse box is getting moisture causing headlights not to work properly and no fuses or relays can be changed because they are corroded in the box. Car loses power, radio caught fire, doors lock on there own or don't lock at all, major malfunction of all electrical components. 2011 and 2013 were recalled for this issue. Why wasn't 2012? car has issues while driving and it's going to cause an accident if not taken care of.
Ford Fiesta, 2012 are not worth anyone's money. The moment I got it, the a/c would not blow anything out, my car would stop at stop signs and in the middle of the road when not in motion and trying to pass traffic, which is completely life threatening. It has a bunch of electrical issues and will start flashing (the warning signs) and then stop randomly. It is jerking at almost all times and shuts off a ton, I have gotten it checked multiple times and spent more than I can afford. This vehicle is ridiculous and I intend to tell everyone I know!!! I am always scared when driving my own car that I spent thousands on, Ford needs to figure this out.
Vehicle was stuck in park and could not be shifted into other gears. This occurred after driving the vehicle and shifting into park. Once in park it could not be shifted to any other gear. The car could be started and turned off while in park. All other aspects of the vehicle seemed to be okay. Could be an issue with the interlock mechanism, but needed a new shifter assembly.
Takata recall. . . Had radio and speakers replaced but speakers still make popping noise even when car is off, as I open doors or trunk I still hear speakers pop, car was in my driveway with windows down and still hear speakers popping as if it was popcorn in microwave.
Radio randomly popped and hissed for 3 weeks, had to shut car off and restart to get radio working again. Radio started popping and squeeilng with no keys in ignition and then finally quit. Radio will turn on but no music can be played through speakers.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number:15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages) and repaired however, the vehicle's warning light that informed the contact that the doors were not locked remained illuminated when the doors were closed and locked. The cotnact returned to the dealer and had the vehicle repaired for the recall a second time however, the failure recurred. The vehicle has not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who informed the contact that the repair parts were on back order. The failure mileage was 64,979. Gl.
I purchased this car from a used dealer in Jan. 2016 not knowing that there was an issue with the transmission (they won't even take it back). This car cuts off in traffic it has been in the shop more than I have had it and now the dealer is refusing to work on it. I have on several occasions tried to trade it but because of the transmission issue no one will trade it. I have tried to get Ford to buy it back and they won't I do not feel safe driving this car they knew there was/is an issue and they are refusing to repair. I am left to pay for a car that I can drive for fear of it cutting off in traffic and causing a serious accident and hurting or killing me or someone else. Ford cooperation is sending me to Ford dealers that want to sell me new cars I can't afford I am disabled with a limited amount of income. Please anything you can do to help me will be greatly appreciated I have the service tickets for every time it has been in for repair. This is my second complaint to your organization and I have not received a response I complained when I first got the car.
2012 Ford Fiesta fails to turn on at random times. Lights from the control panel to the headlights continually blink and turn off while driving. This evening while driving down a busy highway, I made a right turn and the transmission locked up and I could not accelerate or move the car to safety until turning the car on and off again. Also, a few days after I bought the car, the back right door opened while I was driving with my 10 yr old son in the backseat. Ford dealership fixed the door issue but the power and transmission issues are still going on after Ford checked the car and stated it was fine in my service paperwork. The car is clearly not fine.
Radiator ac condenser cooling fan will short out and catch fire without warning. Extensive damage. .
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. After the contact parked the vehicle, he heard an abnormal booming static noise coming from the speakers. Once the vehicle was started and before shifting into gear, the static noise was still audible. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radio module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,000.
