Static through speakers - possible cause, alternator, spark plugs, or faulty wiring. Passenger air bag light - comes on and off on its own randomly. Overheats - with fluids all topped off and car parked and running for 5 minutes it will start extremely overheating with visible smoke. Not sure why. Wire cover - plastic panel on ground towards front of door on driver side needs better coverage. Panel just keeps popping off showing wires. Not sure to what. If gets wet from getting in and out of car can shock you while your driving if touch it just right. Emergency break - don't work warming indicator - says doors are open when they aren't. Headlights - work when they want to. Theft alarm - don't work hood pop lever - the lever to pop your hood isn't connected well. The whole lever is just hanging under my steering wheel from the cords. Not latched into anything just kinda floating in the air, makes it hard to pop the hood, can be a distraction while driving with something hitting your knee. Belt buckles - when using seat belts, comes unclicked randomly while driving or won't buckle at all when first trying to put it on. Trunk - unlatches and opens randomly while driving or parked. Shocks? - not sure if it's shocks or what it is. But there is no comfortability while driving. You can feel every bump, pot whole, crack, anything you drive across. Think it messed up my bearings because of it. But I'm not a mechanic so these are just examples of what's going on and what I think.
Ford Fiesta 2013 had a transmission malfunction warning pop up and the car aggressively jerked back then wouldn’t accelerate past 25 mph. The warning light stayed on. The car a couple miles after the incident wouldn’t accelerate at all even though the engine was on. This type of stopping happened twice. This issue is not related to my driving or accident but due to Ford producing a car with set malfunctions.
I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta that I had financed through a 3rd party just right at a year . The ride was rough to begin with and I began experiencing problems such as a loud shrieking/grinding noise under the hood , which triggered the check engine light . Also pressing the gas and the car not accelerating properly which causes jerking , stalling , and etc. I had a mechanic look at it and did minor repairs but this problem is reoccurring. Recently , I was backing out of a parking spot and shifted the car into drive from being in reverse and pressed the gas and it didn't accelerate it just made a loud revving noise and jerked until I proceeded out the parking lot into traffic. The car continued to jerk really ridiculously, and I had to put on emergency lights and pull over into the nearest parking lot. I then had to call someone to trail me home. I recently had it towed to a local transmission shop after it jerked/stalled out really bad on me in heavy traffic again and didn't really want to accelerate to the proper speed. The mechanics at the transmission shop ran a thorough diagnostic , and other tests and let me know that it's the transmission control module that needs replaced and that it has to go to the dealership. Well I called a Ford dealership , and the representative said it takes months to get in a new transmission control module and also that even when replaced it really does not fix the problem as per many other similar situations the service representative has dealt with. I have been completely screwed all the way around with this car and I'm not even sure why there isn't a recall on these 2013 fod Fiesta because they are really dangerous and it's so very inconvenient with all the troubles that come with it.
We broke down in hopskinville kentucky at a gas station. Had problems with going into drive and reverse. Not wanting to shift. Got it going on highway. Wouldnt shift into gears lost of power. Engine roars loudly and has difficulty shifting to higher gears when we attempt to accelerate. It feels like gears ears slipping or catching when speeding up or slowing down. Unpredictable shifting trouble shifting into higher gear trouble downshifting getting stuck in the same gear. Yes it has cause it would not shift and be stuck in the road. . Took it to lovegreens in kirksville mo back at home. Been nothing but issues and problems. They have lied to us and the Ford customer service. They never ran a test on my vehicle they told Ford that they havent done a test cause I was trying to get a loaner vehicle,. It has not been inspected. None of the lights came on until we experence the breakdown in kentucky. Made it to athens alabama then had it trailered back to kirksville mo due to it almost causins a wreck. Lovegreens said they have fixed the recall of the tcm but it was never fixed. I asked Ford if I can get a diagnostic test if I can take it to another dealership for the recall. . . They would not honor it due to lovegreens claiming they fixed the tcm. 2 weeks later I went to pick the vehicle up it was stuck in first gear and it would not shift out of 1st gear. Put it in l and then back to drive still would not shift gears. I decided to park it and I havent drove it since.
Intermittent door lock recycling.
Complaint - request Ford dealer to honor recall -to add me on waiting list airport Ford service personal not helpful and abrupt tcm transmission recall 14m02 2013 Fiesta it has 57000 miles.
The contact's girlfriend owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights were inoperable. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that there was corrosion on both headlight relays after opening the fuse box. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with headlight relay corrosion. The headlight relays needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
As I was driving on the highway, my car lost power as if it wasn't in gear anymore. Fortunately, I was in a side lane and was able to coast to the side of the road safely; I doubt I would be as lucky if I was in a middle lane. That being said, the side of the road is still dangerous. Shifting the gear selector did nothing to give me power. I put the vehicle in park and turned it off. I waited a few seconds and tried to turn it back on. It wouldn't start. I tried several more times. I then waited a few minutes and tried to start it again, this time with the car starting. I was able to get to work and drive without any issues. After work, however, my car failed to start and had to be towed. There were zero warning lights or messages displayed during this event.
Bought this car used 2013 on 12-01-2020 had less than 2 weeks and it completely shut down on my daughter driving to work, took to local dealer they said nothing they could find, but this is a very dangerous thing to happen for no reason the car just down thank goodness she was not on the highway! again, the dealer that sold us the car defends that they have checked it out but we are afraid going forward the next time she wont be so lucky we have no warranty and the dealer who sold us the car kept insisting we pay an extra 2000 for a warranty I feel maybe they know something is wrong or about to be for them to be so pushy again, she was driving to work and it just shut down lights started to flash and then a noise was made, the brakes worked still and the steering wheel worked but nothing else.
The car has an issue with the pcm. It has a recall that was never fixed, but a code pops up regarding that issue when I self diagnose the car. Also, my transmission is acting up and a wrench light pops up saying "engine malfunction. Service now. " the transmission shudders too when accelerating and now the car drives slow constantly.
On the freeway car sputters when shifting and all dash lights flicker and car lozes power jerks like its gonna die out while driving on freeway on the freeway. While driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal intermittent popping sound was heard through the speakers. The contact stated that the sound was loud and distracting. The contact was distracted while driving and nearly caused an accident. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that his vehicle was out of warranty and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
While driving at night, the low beam headlights stopped working. It appears to be corrosion at the relay. The high beams still function. There is a recall in canada for this problem.
Due to lack of sealer preventing outside debris from enter the fuse box under the hood. Corrosion sets in and causes intermittent issue with day time driving lights while not effecting high beams. Unexpected scenarios showed this could happen at any time, with a higher likelihood during cold temperatures with freezing participation.
Headlights on 2013 Ford Fiesta began working intermittently while driving at night. Upon further inspection, the low beam light relay was so badly corroded that it had broken off inside the fuse box, making the relay impossible to replace. The corrosion appears to be a result of a design flaw allowing moisture in the fuse box. Canada has a similar recall reference number 19s28 associated with this exact issue.
Vehicle was parked while we ate dinner. When we started it, headlights would not come on. Drove home using high beams. Upon inspection discovered headlight relay was corroded. Research yielded a recall in atlantic canada for the same issue (19s28) but Ford USA does not recognize the issue. When we took our vehicle to the dealership, the tech said he'd seen the issue before. Resolved by replacing the battery junction box at great expense.
Door lock can be a safety issue for many. Only 1 lock to 4 doors that lock/unlock button is in dashboard just before the radio. Vehicle was parked. Key was not on ignition I got in vehicle shut the door and locked it. I misplaced my keys inside car I tried getting out by pressing unlock. While the ignition was off and vehicle did not unlock no sound nothin. I panicked none of the door wouldn't open until I found key and turned ignition to open doors. Sometimes it does open but I can't imagine if my child would get stuck in the car for not having door locks.
While driving on a city street or otherwise, my car's engine malfunction light will come on. The car will suddenly jerk and slow down. No matter how hard I press on the gas pedal, it will not go over 30mph. I have almost been slammed into several times due to the sudden loss of speed. I've taken it in twice and had the gas pedal replaced as the computer picks up a problem between the chip and the computer. And both times the new part has failed. I've looked into this and it seems to be a reoccurring problem across the board, and a dangerous one considering Ford is aware of the problem.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta . The contact stated that while operating the vehicle several warning lights including the traction control and abs would continuously flash. During the failure the rpms would erroneously rev high. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer red hill Ford(602 main st. Red hill PA. ) and the manufacturer (cas-24520897) were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. Jft.
Dps6 transmission slipping into neutral & not going back into gear on at least 4 occasions starting from when I purchased the pre-owned car, January 2019. Total loss of power, had to coast to side of road.
There is a recall on this call and I have called the sheheey Ford and they do not have the records on the car the electric system is not working and the engine is slipping.
The headlights quit working. I was out shopping and finished at just about sunset. I went to turn the headlights on but no lights but all the running lights were on. I turned the switch on and off repeatedly still no headlights; tried the high beams, they worked. I drove home with the high beams on and was constantly flashed by on coming traffic. The next morning I checked the fuses then the relays for low beam. Found the problem - relay r11 had a badly corroded prong which broke off in the box itself. I can not pull the corroded prong out - nor can I drive a night until the entire unit is replaced. My wife is on hospice and this couldn't have happened at a worst time. After researching online, it seems that mine is not an isolated problem at all, but none the less is very dangerous.
Turn signals stopped working, replaced bulbs with no luck. Checked fuses and it was blown, replaced fuse and it worked for about 45 minutes then blew the fuse again. Every time we replace the fuse it blows within an hour. Radio stopped working and would make very loud popping noise while driving. We finally had to pull the fuse for the radio to make it stop. So now there is no working radio as we are afraid to replace the fuse. My daughter drives this lemon daily as it is her only transportation to work. She still owes more for the car than she could get if she tried to trade it in on something else. This car needs to be classified as a lemon and taken off the roads. She has had nothing but problems since she bought it, but she didn't get it new so by the time she bought it of course there was no warranty and now she is stuck with it. Also, she previously had to put it in the shop due to transmission issues. She stopped at a red light and on take off the car wouldn't go, rpms were around 3000 and all warning/message lights went off at the same time. Found out there was a recall on her car that we never knew about when we purchased it from the dealer.
Sensor on my car is saying my trunk is open and it's not. Also, when I unlock my car the trunk pops open. Interior lights wont turn off.
Electrical fuse block inside engine compartment is rusted throughout entire fuse block. Vehicle sporadically fails to start, driver side head lamp does not work, and air conditioning is blowing hot air.
Headlights quit working. Brought it to auto parts store. Manager stated that relay fuse for the low beams was fully corroded and one of the prongs broke off in the fuse box. He said the fuse box looks poorly designed and allows sand and water to enter. Prong stuck in fuse box -- not sure how much it will cost to get out - can't reach it with a tweezers or anything else. I live in the midwest where they put salt on the roads which may be the root of the problem. Looks like there may be a recall in canada for this same issue but none in the USA. Internet search shows many people having the same issue.
On 9/20/18, while stopped at a busy intersection for a red light, upon attempting to move forward when the light turned green the car simply would not move. I placed the car in park, shut it off to restart thinking it would reset itself somehow and instead not only would it not restart but the gear shift would not move out of park so that I could push it out of the traffic. I had to call the local police to wait in the road with lights flashing at the intersection to avoid being rear-ended and until the tow truck could arrive. The "engine malfunction" light comes on so often (which usually gets a "reprogramming" at the dealer) that it has become unnoticeable, but I do not recall seeing it before becoming immobile. It was taken to a local Ford dealer, where they said it was covered under the extended warranty Ford issued (tcm part, I believe). This car has approximately 70,000 miles on it but has been in the shop for "warrantied" repairs involving reprogramming, throttle, gas pedal sensor, clutches, etc. On many many occasions. In the past, I have taken it in complaining about the returning light and when it has shuddered and lost power momentarily while attempting to enter traffic on the interstate (once even as a tractor trailer approached). Traffic has had to shift lanes to avoid hitting my car. It has shuddered in intersections and onramps before, but never became completely immobile without recovery. If this isn't a safety issue, I don't know what is. I cannot experience the fear and helplessness that occurred last week again, so two days later I went and purchased a new vehicle (not Ford) and accepted a huge loss on the trade-in value because I value my family's safety and my life far more. My many services have all been through Ford and are available in my service record at Ford.
While driving air conditioning, radio and headlights cuts out intermittently and warning lights come on and then go off. Turn tcs system off? is also displayed when this happens. Since this car has a manual transmission it happens when clutch is being engaged.
There are issues with both the radio and the message screen on the dashboard. The radio problems are indeed a safety issues. I purchased this car in February of this year. At first, the radio would just intermittenly go out and would come back on after a short period of time. However, as time went on, extremely loud static would burst from the speakers every time the radio went out, whether or not keys were in the ignitiod. This has happened while driving - which is a terrifying distraction when you least expect it. The radio has been out for weeks now - it has come back once or twice, but always quickly goes back out, with that loud static blast. Beyond that loud blast. . . There has also been instances where the static simply continues - again this has happened while traveling and it's so distracting it really could cause an accident - I feel lucky that hasn't happened. I also have a few videos of this happening and would be happy to share. In addition to the radio, random messages are displayed on the display screen, I. E driver/passenger door open while not actually open. The "critical engine failure" message has displayed more than once when nothing was actually wrong - again, a terrifying distraction when traveling (especially on the highway as I have been when that message appears. ) from what I have seen online, this is an insanely common problem with 2013 Ford Fiestas. An estimate to replace the radio came in at $280 without labor - that's really insane for a problem that is clearly a design/system flaw specific to this make and model, not simply the vehicle I specifically own. I do have a couple of pictures of the message display (unfortunately not the critical engine failure message) but again, I have multiple videos of the radio issue that I'm happy to provide (also the date below is random - it's happened many times on different occaisions).
Ongoing issue - key was not in the ignition, you hear loud static coming from radio/audio system. Please note this happens randomly while the car is moving or parked - key not in ignition. The radio no longer functions - you hear 'cracking and popping' regularly and sometimes the volume is startling driving down the road and the audio system starts blaring static, you jump reacting to the noise. This causes distracted driving which is illegal in California and many other states. This is a safety issue. There are hundreds of complaints online in many blogs about this product who are experiencing the same problem. Intervention by NHTSA is needed before someone is hurt in an accident from being distracted by this blaring noise. Some consumers can not afford to replace or remove the systems. Additionally due to the design of the system you would have to replace it with another Ford product since the air vents are attached to the system. Please note while these electrical/audio static problems are going on, the sync system hasn't been fully operational either. My state does not allow driving with cellphones so an unavailable sync system is not only a pain but prevents compliance with the law.
My traction control off keeps coming on with the check engine light also and my blue tooth on the steering wheel won't work . When the traction control off comes on I loose power in my pedal and acts like it doesn't wanna go.
The car slips and suddenly goes off while in motion and all the dashboard lights come up so it has to be left for few minutes and it will start all over again. I got a real notice from a dealership which I took to them and they called me back that it was fixed but to my surprise the problem was still there. I sent several emails to them but got no response back from them.
All warning lights come on, headlights go off, and the radio goes off at random times. Also the transmission warning comes on randomly (per the message boards this is a common issue with this model). It's been in the dealership's shop 3 times and they've not been able to duplicate the problems therefore they have not fixed the problems.
It was giving a roaring noice and the radio dont work and alot of buuum noice wether it was park in the garage or parking lot it is like a fire work when you lite it. Ford send me a notice of the recall, but becouse I move I cant find the notice of the recall.
My "engine malfunction service now" light came on. The vehicle has 30,300 miles. Took it in and was told that the wires from the gas pedal to the panel were "frayed. " they couldn't give me an answer on how this occurred but that it would cost $875. 00. My 3yr/36,000 warranty is up. I did take it in for the check up before warranty expired and was told everything was ok. Today I was told that they wouldn't have seen this during that inspection. I have no choice but to get it fixed but 30,300 miles and no explanation on how the wires frayed?.
