The vehicle is straining to pick back up speed once it comes to a stop or slows down. There also seems to be a clicking sound coming from the transmission on the driver side. It seems to have trouble switching over the years because it's a dual transmission I'm suspecting something's wrong with the clutch there seems to be a shutter.
The natural vacuum leak detection pump on my vehicle needs to be replaced . A review on line shows that this device which is part of the emissions system is continuously backordered for months. Indicatiing a high failure rate. This pump is essential in that it permits the car to be filled at a gas pump. In failure you can only fill a gallon at a time before the valve in it closed and you have to remove the nozzle and start again.
I have been experiencing transmission problems including the car stalling when accelerating while trying to complete turns in traffic during turn signals. I have at one point a situation at a stop light where brakes were applied and car went forward unexpectedly. Additionally since almost the beginning of the vehicle it has run rough, sometimes having difficulty changing gears, multiple incidents where it stalled when accelerating on interstate. Had 2 different repairs to review problem, including Ford computer fix that was supposed to help, but did not. This happened multiple times for these instances. Instance I demoted on calendar involved vehicle stalling at turns which has happened multiple times as well.
Was told tps was bad vehicle shutters and looses power shuts off on freeway very dangerous the hole throttle bod must be purchased to fix but when taken to dealership was told runs fine after 3 time when it was doing it again went straight to dealer told me is possibly throttle position sensor may be problem.
This car has been a nightmare . I complained about transmission and catalytic converter. I now notice that the fuel is not getting the an mount. I m averaging 20 to 25 miles even though it says 33. I see it jumps. I called they said plugs don't have to change until 40000 miles. The milage is moving even though I am driving in a 10 mile radius.
This vehicle has been in for service four times for the same issue. The issue is the throttle pedal sensor. While driving, the vehicle will lose power and the service lights illuminate. If in cruise control, the cruise control shuts down and the vehicle loses power without warning. On the interstate, this requires an immediate action to avoid an accident. I was able to reset the car by shutting it down and restarting. The repairs only stopped the problem for 10-12k miles.
My check engine cluster came on the one with the wrench, I immediately took it in to the dealership the airport marina. I got there at 7:45 am I was met with agitation when I told him my check engine warning came on I needed to know what it meant. I also included could he fix the recall that came in the mail for the 14e08 he said that they werent doing the transmission recall for another 6 weeks. I told him I was unaware of transmission recall. Both of our attitudes changed his of quiet mine of quiet and shock. He let me leave without fixing any of the recalls gave me an oil change, failed to tell me of why my check engine light came on and never put it in my invoice. I called him back and asked him why he didn't fix, tell me or set me up with and appointment to get my recalls repaired? he tried to tell me other things I needed instead at a cost. I was upset but made a appointment and called customer relations. However after going online I got the real picture! when I first bought the car I returned it after two weeks because of the very thing on the internet, the shuddering, hesitation in moving forward and it didn't seem like the gas was getting to where it needed to go. So the car would jerk and poot and shake along with rattle noise. It also leaked in my drive way. I thought maybe someone parked in my stall after I went for work. Not the case. I took it in, they said it was normal, each and every time. They even said we will look at it and said it was a minor thing that they adjusted. I never saw it on paper so I thought they were treating me well and fixing things for free without a paper trial. And they were!! now that the check engine light came on and they reset it and did not do the recalls sent up red flags. That is considered my first denial of service on record, I foolishly let them get away with the others. Will take it to another Ford dealership.
I just bought a used 2013 Ford Fiesta with about 43-44,000 miles on it. I drove the car off the authorized dealer's lot on yesterday 8/31/2014. The first thing that I noticed was, as I entered the highway, the car had trouble getting up to speed with the flow of traffic. Later on the same day pulling out of an establishment to enter the main road I pressed the accelerator and the car jerked and acted like it was going to stall out. Then it lunged forward into the street! had there been oncoming traffic, this could have caused an accident with me and my family in the car! the car hesitates to shift gears correctly. The rpm hand revs up real high on a light push on the gas pedal and doesn't come down efficiently so the car jerks when if finally "catches". I've had this car for one day! this is a danger and something needs to be done!.
Parked and engine off: when refueling, the gas builds up, as it "burps" gas spills out under the car wheel and on to the pavements. The refueling takes forever, since we purchased it - we smelled our hands & shoes smelling like gas, but didn't connect it immediately to fuel system issue since it was a new car.
I almost died in this car today. I rented it for my trip in maui. It was practically new with only 10,000 miles on it, so there should not have been anything wrong, even if the people that rented it before me drove it horribly. Today I drove it into the hills (upcountry maui). I was on a road with a cliff on the left side and a driveway on the right. I pulled into the driveway, which was a hill going up, and everything was initially fine, the car was going up the hill just fine, but a little over halfway up the hill the car stopped accelerating/moving. I was pressing the gas pedal to the floor but it had no rpms and the car began rolling backwards. Suddenly, the transmission (?) kicked in and the car lurched forward at 20mph. Thankfully I was able to control it and make it to the top of the hill, where there was a parking lot. Had the transmission not kicked in at that second, the car would have rolled all the way back down the driveway and off the cliff. There is absolutely no way that I was pressing the brake pedal or not pressing the gas. I was going up a hill and obviously didn't want to roll back, so of course I would have my foot pressed down on the accelerator. This is further exhibited by the fact that the car suddenly lurched forward after a few seconds of not moving, so I definitely had my foot on the accelerator the whole time. I have read online hundreds of people that have issues with the car not accelerating/moving while pressing on the gas, so this is not an isolated issue. What if this happens to someone else who is riding it in the hills or mountains? please do something about this car before someone is seriously hurt.
Within 1 month of driving I kept hearing crazy grinding noises and it would bog out between 0-30. . -rpm would jump to 5 on slight acceleration than dive back to 0; Ford dealer did "computer update on electronics" - did not fix problem; they said I needed to "adapt to the different clutch"; car continued to have problems between shifting into 2nd gear- took to dealer and another "update" was done. I was driving on major highway and had to drop speed from 45 to 30 to crossover to different highway and the car completely locked up as if it went into neutral. I managed to get car home without having a stroke and shut it off. When I got home I called dealer who came and towed it- the dealer replaced the clutch. After about 2 mos I noticed it was not shifting right again and became concerned for my safety due to prior highway incident. I took it in and the transmission was completely replaced; along with another clutch. Now it is making a ticking sound and I am concerned of a gas odor. I will be taking it back again. I filed lemon law on it after the highway incident. My greatest fear is that this car is very popular for middle class families looking for an affordable car for their new teen driver. The new driver will not be experienced enough to realize how to handle the situation or know that the car is malfunctioning. The 2013 Ford Fiesta needs to be recalled!!!.
Transmission issues since purchasing the car brand new in 2013. Car jerks and accelerates sporadically. When taking off from a stop the car does not respond to pushing on the gas, but will then suddenly take off. It moves through the gears in a clunky manner. Makes grinding noises upon acceleration. The car rolls back on hills. I do not feel safe driving this car. Ford have no responded in a helpful manner to my enquires and appear not to be able to fix the problem.
