I was told way back when that door latches had a defect. That there was a recall. Colonial Ford of danbury CT avoided doing the complete recalls. Such is so that I paid out of pocket a transmission rebuild and took Ford 2 years to reemburse me the cost. But the door latch recall was still in effect. It turns out that im getting a door open warning on dash while doors are closed. This was a defect recall going back 5-6 years but was never replaced. Now dealer tells me my car was'nt part of the recall.
The door latch on one of the doors has a broken piece inside of it that won't allow the door to close, no dealer has checked it out yet, my safety is a concern because any of the doors could break as well and open while I'm driving.
2014 Ford Fiesta manual sedan exhibiting recurring, dangerous hood latch malfunction (recently noticed) where hood unlatches while driving/parked & experiencing sudden power loss when ac is used (fuse removed to prevent this dangerous condition). Potential safety hazards: obstructed vision, hood detachment, engine tampering, sudden loss of control. Ford service advisor admitted hood latch "should" be a recall, yet dealership attempts to charge $350-$500 ($250 diagnostic) for repair instead of initiating recall. This raises concerns Ford prioritizes profit over safety, esp. Since Fiesta is discontinued. Other issues include previous brake pad lock-up requiring costly abs hydraulic control unit repair & door latch recall 20s15 ("door may unlatch while driving"). Multiple recurring issues suggest vehicle may be a lemon overall. Request immediate NHTSA investigation into hood latch defect & electrical/ac power loss issue. Urge recall consideration. I will gladly allow my vehicle to be studied in a NHTSA lab to aid investigation. Concern heightened by Ford's discontinuation of model.
My car worked perfectly fine, I was out using it and coming back from the place I was at. My door just stopped closing out of nowhere. Realizing my door latch is not working at all anymore. It does not move.
Every once in a while I go around a left handed curve, the right side passenger door it comes out, it will unlatch and then latch back.
When a rear seat passenger exits the vehicle and closes the door, the rear door does not latch properly. This causes the door to swing open while the car is moving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has manifested itself on several occasions, especially when I am dropping off school children at their stop. The crossing guard has been kind enough to close the door for me. That is, he closes the door after it swings open. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop (yet). The problem first appeared last week, after the thanksgiving holiday break. There were no symptoms to warn of the problem. It just appeared out of the blue, so to speak. To describe the problem further: the door is closed by the passenger who has just exited the car. There is no "door open" light to indicate a problem. Then, after a few seconds, the door springs open and the "door open" light appears. It is annoying when it happens. It is also a safety issue.
Back ride side door will not latch and stay closed,if aperson was in back seat with door that won't latch that person is in a dangerious position. Backing out of drive way door opened and wouldnot latch shut.
I opened the back passenger door and now it wont shut.
My recall states that Ford has not issued instructions to stop driving your vehicle under this safety. My back door latch opened while driving which makes the car undrivable and needing a tow, possibly causing an accident. I had a ptsd response to the incident and had to go to the doctor because of the stress induced on my body. I also required medical massages. My front door hinge also was about to break the service dept informed me as well which is not on this recall. Other owners may not be so lucky.
Coming back from grocery shopping, I entered a parked car, pulled out and the back passenger side door swung open. I pulled back in, and was unable to latch close the door. Not blocked in the locked position, but unable to fasten when the door is completely closed. I had to buy duct tape to keep it closed. I later learned that Ford has several complaints and a pre-recall number that reflects my issue. 20s15. I am reporting this as it is a highly dangerous situation and I can not cope long with the back door seat belted by the arm. Please bring enforcement pressure to the Ford company. Thanks.

Driving on expressway, exterior door handles fell off, drivers side and passenger side front doors. Citing an open recall NHTSA vehicle safety recalls recall number 15v246000 04/25/2015 latches/locks/linkages:door:latch.
The door latch on the back door doesn't work, I see a recall for my specific vehicle type but not my VIN.
Passenger door does not close whatsoever. When driving, taking left turns the door swings open, has to be held down to prevent it. The defective door latches on these vehicles can prevent the door from properly closing. This can result in the door opening while the vehicle is moving. Many customers indicated that the door would not latch at all so they decided to restrain the door by other means (looping the seatbelt through the door, or using rope or tape) in order to drive the vehicle. Some customers also reported multiple door latch failures occurring on the same vehicle on different doors occurring months apart. My 2014 Ford Fiesta manufactured on April 2014 is not covered by recall 15s16, parts and labored not getting covered by Ford. Seems like not all cars are included in this recall, even though the recall notice states so.
The left rear door latch broke when the door was closed. This happened in our driveway as we were preparing to leave on a trip. If this latch had broken while the vehicle was being driven it could have resulted in an accident causing damage to this or other vehicles and possible injury or death to occupants or bystanders. Ford recalled nearly 390,000 2012-2014 Fiesta, focus and Lincoln models for this same problem. This vehicle was manufactured less than two weeks after the problem was supposed to have been fixed at the plant in mexico. Apparently they should have recalled more since this vehicle was exempted from that recall, but obviously has the same defect. I am now forced to pay $300 to repair a vehicle which Ford should have known was defective. These vehicles need to be recalled and repaired at Ford's expense, not the customer's. The recall notice was 15f16 regarding this problem.
Takata recall car will not go into revers takata recall gear change is rough wile driving forewords shudders I have to turn key on and off many times before it will start loud clunk when making a right turn takata recall took car in for sync recall many times still not fixed.
I was driving and my door flew open. I've owned the car 4 years. I've had 2 transmission clutches replaced, 2 sync systems replaced, there have been other parts but I don't have that info at the moment. There have been 8-9 parts in total. Some of the recalls I have researched were before I was sold the car. I have contacted Ford motor company and was told if I didn't like it, don't buy another Ford. I just had the latest transmission clutch and sync replaced a few months ago and asked about any current recalls and was told none at the moment. I had my warning light sensor checked last month because it came on while I was driving. I was told nothing was found and they reset the light. It came back on. Still nothing found. I have contacted them repeatedly only to receive no help. These cars should've never been sold like this much less allowed to remain on the road!.
Passenger rear door stopped closing. , while moving, cannot close because latch will not engaged, and secure door.
Left rear door failed to close and latch rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive on 9/21 - thankfully while parked in our driveway. Contacted sunland Ford in victorville, CA and we were told that the part that failed was under recall. Arrived at the dealership that afternoon only to find that the recall period ended 60 days before our vehicle was manufactured. We believe that they are related and that the recall should be extended again as we learned it had been extended once before.
The door latch on my car broke after putting something in the back seat. The rear passenger door would not stay closed the door is very rarely used. Did not qualify for the recall that other Ford Fiestas have for the exact same problem due to date off by only 1-2 months of car manufactured.
Door/latches: front passenger side door will not close/latch making it unsafe to drive. Ford had two recalls (2015 & 2017) on this known problem (recall: 15s16), but they did not include my VIN as part of the recall, even though my 2014 Ford Fiesta could still have the same type of latch. If all 2014 Ford Fiestas have this defective part, why weren't all vehicles included in the recall? I just purchased this car less than 6-months ago and they told me there were no open recalls, but 2014 Ford Fiestas have been known to have these problems. It doesn't appear that Ford made the latch recall part-specific, and if they did, the latch I have is just as defective as the previous ones. The Ford recall department was unable to tell me if my car had the defective part, but they told me that NHTSA reviews all their recalls and they approved that my car didn't need a recall on the door latches.
My transmission not working properly. . . And had to replace 2 back doors they would not shot properly too. .

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph, the rear passenger door independently opened while the vehicle was moving. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number:17v210000(latches/locks/linkages). The failure mileage was unknown. The passenger door latch is broken. A small plastic part snapped off and now the door won't shut, or if it does shut, pops open while driving. This problem was supposed to have been solved with a recall, recall 15s16, covering certain 2014 Fiestas. Ford says my car is not covered by the recall, but it has the same safety issue. All four door latches were replaced on recalled vehicles. My door is now permanently tied shut and the dealership wants $550 to repair. My question is whether the replacement parts are still defective, and will the rest of my door latches also break needing $550 each to repair?.
Rear door flew open while driving. Faulty door latch. My VIN was not one of the 500,000 recalled but it still failed. I had to pay dealer out of pocket to fix. Known safety issue. I should not have to pay for something known to fail in a vehicle known to have the issue. Could have been serious if pet or cargo were in back.
Ford never contacted us about the door latch recall. Even after going for service. The recall was never mentioned.
The vehicle was stationary in a parking lot. The rear passenger side door abruptly failed to latch after opening and closing it. The latch was examined and externally appears the same as on the other doors. Manually moving the latching mechanism shows it fails to latch even upon locking the car doors.
The driver's side rear door would not shut and latch properly after being opened. I had to drive seven miles with the door jerry rigged shut with rope. The door was stationary when it failed to latch closed.
I have three or more recalls on my vehicle went a couple years ago to have them repaired I was told I had paid 120 just for them to look at the car so I didn't have them repaired I went to your system and saw that it was reported that all my recalls have been repaired and that's a false statement none of my recalls have been repairman on lashes have fallen off my inside with my gauges it is coming apart my phone areas don't work anymore my axle or studs in things have been messed up that messed up my lights in the inside of the car keeps flickering. Now my engine light has come on it won't go off the car has 214,000+ miles on it and I don't want to break apart I just paid it off. I've had to replace the serpentine belt twice the rubber around the insulation of the doors is coming off the areas where you can see your radio in speedometer and fogged up. The dealership told me I couldn't get the eggs and radio free for six months I have the sensor but they said they can activate it in a standard model the tire exploded three weeks after having the car I reported the rubbing sound when I first bought the car and they told me that's what new cars sound like and then wants to tire exploded the Ford dealership I took it to send it to the corporation they claim they said it was route has it but I didn't hit anything. The transmission had to be repaired after six months and now is acting up again.
Yesterday the door latch on the front passenger door failed, resulting in the door being unable to remain closed. Thankfully the car was stationary in my garage when this occurred. This is a commonly reported problem on Ford Fiestas, but when I took my car into the dealer for repair they said that my car was not covered under the existing recall, and as such I had to pay for the repair. My fear is that given this is a known problem with Ford Fiestas, the door latch on my other doors will fail, and next time I might not be lucky enough to be stationary in my garage, and there is the significant potential of causing an accident.
Front pass. Door latch that keeps door closed broke while it was stationary. There is a recall on this model except month mine was built. Mine was built in 6/2013 and recall effects model thru 05/2013. My concern is I've read these doors can come open while in motion. I have kids in my car all the time.
Upon parking the vehicle and opening the door using the outside handle, the door latch on the front passenger door failed. The door would no longer remain closed. I needed to hold the door closed while driving to a dealership for repair, as it wanted to swing open (especially during left turns).
