Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Driving down the road. . . Abs, brake, tsc lights kicked on and the car jerked to the right-hand side and slowed down about 10mph. . . As I kept going it lit up again and jerked hard. . . As I got speed to about 55mph did it a few more times before I finally shut the car off and had the dealership come get it. .

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

At a red light my car began acting funny when the light turned green the car was hesitant to go it was having trouble shifting and accelerating the check engine light came on the next day and the code came back for a clutch sensor I have a dual transmission Ford Fiesta the car wont turn over sometimes and has trouble stopping.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

This vehicle only has 80000 mi and has a engine code of p0606. The computer malfunction and stopped at the light and almost caused an accident. Something needs to be remedied about this.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

I was driving my car one night and in the mist of driving , it was jerking really bad and the acceleration was going in and out . The car came to a complete stop and even though it was on and running it wouldn't move as if it was stuck , luckily before someone hit me behind it jumped back into to gear and started to move a little until it started to jerk again. I didn't go anywhere but 2 mins down the street and back home. Once I got home and was ready to leave again it wouldn't start anymore and now I no longer have a car and I haven't even had it long. I took the car to Ford and it was stated that it's a recall on something to do due with my transmission and on the paper the same exact things that I was experiencing was on the recall possible symptoms.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

We tried turning the car on. The lights started blinking rapidly the. It said the traction control was off. Even though we did not turn it off. We jump started the car and it went on but only for the dashboard to say transmission malfunction service now. When driving on the street and freeway to the next exit. It felt and sound like the engine is revving the entire time no matter what speed. The rpm is running high going straight past 3.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Im not sure if I have selected correct options. But all I know is when I slow my car and they try to accelerate the car does not speed up immediately it take few minutes. Hence I have to accelerate more to make the car running. This has always been an issue. Quite difficult while switching lanes on highways or taking turns. Specially driving in winter is scary. I find the car very unpredictable. I took it to the servicing centre in toronto CA at dufferin for the recall that was issued and the issue is still not resolved. After informing them they just disregarded saying this is an issue with all Ford. Thinking im a women and dont understand much of cars I forgot about it. Even when it rains while applying a brake it startles and doesn't stop immediately. This issue was also discussed with the Ford centre at dufferin st in toronto. I sometimes fear to drive my car as I have my child and pets along with me. This is ongoing thing daily so cant specify which date exactly as whenever we drive we have this issue.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta . The contact stated that while operating the vehicle several warning lights including the traction control and abs would continuously flash. During the failure the rpms would erroneously rev high. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer red hill Ford(602 main st. Red hill PA. ) and the manufacturer (cas-24520897) were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000. Jft.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

Lost control of car. First impact was a tree stump as car was turning, hit tree stump. She went forward and hit head on stirring wheel. Air bag at steering wheel did not inflate or deploy. Only side door on left side filled with air. Second impact car tilts over then airbag on side door inflate. The car was in motion, on a residential street.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

On July 15th 2019, my son was going around a sharp right corner when the car sped up out of control and crashed into a utility pole head on. My son was driving on a city street and was going approximately 30 miles an hour. He's uncertain what caused the sudden acceleration. The car was totaled and my son has a severely broken foot.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

take recall the engine temperature coolant light is on and the engine light is on. The car will run but will not accelerate.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Takata recall - on Tuesday 25th of June, thecar started slowing down and acting a little weird. No matter how much I gave it gas it went into turtle mode and cut off. I towed it to darcars Ford in lahnam, MD. The two warranties on the vehicle expired so I bought extended warranty. The warranty company is telling me they don't replace clutch barren- shift fork a- shift fork b and seat belt light which is on. Now I haft to pay 180. 00 dollars for a diagnostic test and it still needs another test for the seat belt light. What am I to do if Ford does not help with this problem.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

After tune up, air mass sensor, camshaft sensor, and crank shaft sensor, oil change , car engine blight remains on, and when air conditioning is turned on car loses power to the point it stall and breaks lock and will roll out of control.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

Car currently has 90k mi and the clutch is bad $1700 for dealer to replace. Ford extended warranty to 150k mi on transmission control module which is inside the transmission. The dealer replaced the module at no cost and then the module starting leaking transmission fluid and as a result there was a roaring noise from one of the bearings which is inside the transmission. Ford and the dealership refuses to accept responsibility for this. The worn clutch and transmission malfunctions is a know issue on these vehicles. While driving the car loss acceleration and it jerks when taking off and loss of power and the ac doesn't blow out cold air. Stay away from Ford.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

The vehicle stalls while driving or turning and the transmission warning keeps coming up on the dashboard also it has made the engine indicator stay on. When the car is parked and on it seems it has no issues then when you take it out of park it starts stalling immediately.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Throttle sensor. Throttle body and throttle box. Even after replacing this. It's saying mechanical failure. And after checking it's still says throttle sensor.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

The car randomly does not start this all began after my transmission programming being updated and now my pcm is failing and sometimes they car excellerates and the engine revs higher than normal. On several occasions this car has left me stranded. Random codes appear and disappear. One time my car turned off and I lost power steering.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

I took my car to a Ford dealership to take action on recall 14m01. They replaced the clutch under warranty and returned my car to me. A day later my car flashed a check engine light while I was 45 minutes away from home on the highway. Codes that came up were addressed & the vehicles condition worsened until it went fully into limp mode while returning from an attempt to restart the computer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

Fuse box is filled with dirt. Apparently it's an issue on 2011 Fiesta. I was not informed by Ford about the issue. They had some type of recall on that: TSB 17b16. I am the original owner. The car shuts down occasionally on idle, while driving in the city. Very sudden, "clean" shutdowns. No rough idle. Quite often I would not realize that the engine is down until I press accelerator and there is no action. It is out of the blue. Dangerous in traffic!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

Problems with car stuck in park and not starting vehicle was stationary, have been stuck twice for same thing.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

Transmission warning light and message plus sync note about vapor leak. Dealer says may be ok to drive. Or may refuse to start at any moment. Already ran 3 previous recalls, one r transmission.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

I bought this car from a houston Honda dealership in may of 2017, I late September 2017, early October 2017, I took my car into the Honda dealership because my traction control, abs, & anti-skid lights came on. My radio cut in & out, my headlights would cut off and on/dim while driving, causing the gears in my car to shift. I was told to take it to Ford. I took it to Ford, they diagnosed it, I needed a new tcm which is the computer system inside of the car. The warranty covered it, & I got a new one. After that, I was told I needed a new battery, so I got one, put it in, the car ran good for a month or so. The tcm slipped again, & I was back to square one. November 2017 is then the transmission problems really began; interior dashboard lights began to flicker, & my engine light came on, shortly after exiting the highway, my car stopped accelerating. My foot was pressed down on the gas pedal, but the car wouldn't speed up, all you could hear was the engine running. I had to pull over, turn off, and turn my car back on, to continue driving. After numerous trips to Ford, two new batteries, & two new alternators, I am still having the same problems. It has been about a year having this car, & they are still unable to properly diagnose, & fix the problem. In a year span, I have been car-less for about 4 weeks (collectively), have taken multiple uber rides, to and from the dealership(s), and no progress has been made on my 2013 Ford Fiesta!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

The clutch has been replaced three times and car continues to hesitate ,bucks, lurches forward, and engine makes buzzing sound feels like it's dragging when driving. Most recently at a stop sign the car accelerated and lurched forward I had two feet on the brake it was difficult to control.

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

While driving on the expressway my car began smoking and began to overheat which caused a cracked cylinder head that sprayed oil all over the inside of my hood sparking a small fire under the hood. The computer began to shut the car down and displayed a warning message that stated sudden loss of oil pressure, please prepare to pull over safely. Just as I read that message the brakes started to lock and the steering became harder to turn as I tried to get off the next exit from the expressway. I reinjured my broken ankle in trying to keep stop and control the car. Once pulled over the car continued to smoke and no longer started. I filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied as they found the cause was due to recall mechanical or electrical breakdown still under powertrain warranty. I went online and found on the Ford motor company mediacenter website this recall notice date 3/29/17. My VIN # was not on this list but to the letter is what I experienced: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2013-15 Ford escape, Ford Fiesta st, Ford fusion and Ford transit connect 1. 6-liter gtdi vehicles for under-hood fire risk Ford is issuing a safety recall in north America for approximately 230,000 2014 Ford escape, 2014-15 Ford Fiesta st, 2013-14 Ford fusion and 2013-15 Ford transit connect vehicles equipped with 1. 6-liter gtdi engines. Ford's investigation of these vehicles has identified a risk of under-hood fires. In the affected vehicles, a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat, resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. A cracked cylinder head can result in a pressurized oil leak. Oil that comes into contact with a hot engine surface increases the risk of a fire in the engine compartment. Ford is aware of 29 reports of fire associated with this issue in the united states and canada. No injuries have been reported.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

I was driving in the highway and the lights on my car started flickering and then the hill start assist came on. My car will not shift properly and states transmission malfunction. The tcm was installed less than 1 year ago on a recall notice. I'm afraid to drive my car now because I'm not sure what's going to happen next. What's the warranty on this part?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

While I was driving going up on a hill and trying to accelerate from 35 to 35, even though I'm pressing the gas pedal, there is no response for 1 minute and then suddenly it will accelerate up to 45 to 50 and it's so scary especially when it starts going faster on the sharp curves and driving up. I had to brake to slow it down but I don't want to be rear ended. This has been happening lately and it's a safety concern for my family.

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

There was an active recall on my 2011 Ford Fiesta hatchback ses that I aquired from an auto dealer but not from Ford. Took it to Ford when I later found out about the recall on door latches and went to have the latches fixed and later that day the front passenger window pops off track and my window on the drivers side has issues with going up and down. The Ford place said that in order to fix the windows it would cost 100. 00 dollars to fix and they swear up and down thst they didn't work in the doors but the had to replace the latches. The windos wasworking fine until I took it to shaffer Ford. They said in the shop that there was a recall on the transmission clutch and the control module but it seemed to shift fine and I now have a wrench light and not the oil light beside the wrench one but another one and the transmission malfunction alert comes on in the display. My girlfriend is pregnant and when it jerks when I come to a complete stop it pulls the car seat tight on her belly and everytime it hurts her. I believe it's a safety issue and my only means of transportation. If I knew about this car before I stated the finance, I would of purchased something else. Just wanted to say thank from all us folks who got the Ford Fiesta. They are junk. I hope.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

When I try to accelerate my car shudders. When I go from the brakes and try the gas pedal my car jerks and has issues accelerating. I have been to the dealership several times for this problem all they do is reprogram. It is good for 2-3 days then goes back to jerking and shuddering. These problems occur most when I'm pulling out of driveways and partying lots from a stopped position trying to increase speed. I have had a few close calls because my car has problems speeding up when I'm on the expressway too. I got the car used at 20000 miles. The dealership when I brought it in for the first time in November 2016 told me it was normal for my car to have transmission problems. After several visits the problem was never fixed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

Ford Fiesta, 2012 are not worth anyone's money. The moment I got it, the a/c would not blow anything out, my car would stop at stop signs and in the middle of the road when not in motion and trying to pass traffic, which is completely life threatening. It has a bunch of electrical issues and will start flashing (the warning signs) and then stop randomly. It is jerking at almost all times and shuts off a ton, I have gotten it checked multiple times and spent more than I can afford. This vehicle is ridiculous and I intend to tell everyone I know!!! I am always scared when driving my own car that I spent thousands on, Ford needs to figure this out.

Electronic Stability Control problem #30

"takata recall had the vehicle approximately one week purchased from a private. I stopped at a stop sign and car died on me and left me stranded at a 4 way stop. I tried to get vehicle started and it started briefly and died on me. I was frantic as I am an older lady with my grandchild that was scared to death. I was pushed off the road by a concerned citizen who helped us push 2011 Ford Fiesta off the road. I had the unit towed and had motor replaced. The car still will not run and I have gone through all my saving on this piece of junk. It is now at a Ford dealership and they still are scratching their head and cannot fix unit. It is located at halliday Ford Lincoln incorporated, 1700 columbus Ave, washington court house, ohio, 43160, telephone 800-358-3673.

Electronic Stability Control problem #31

Casenumber:1024456 I have been taking my car to summerville Ford dealership since purchased in August of 2015 recalls transmission issues door locks it happened when moving they said would call when transmission rep. Came in. . I was fine to drive. Then door latches recalled. They replaced, and my drivers window stopped at a point before going down all theway. It seemed to finally go down but felt like scraping or getting hung up. These folks also left a hubcap off last October though. . And did not know. . I ruled out as human graced and gave benefit of doubt. When I called they were closed. So I brought back and they said it was a relay switch. . . But I knew it wasn't because it was not acting like that until (door latch) replacement. Then it went away seemingly. I brought back again for check engine light. . Then had a fan motor issue they told me to pay warranty and they would cover.

Electronic Stability Control problem #32

My car had the transmission control module reprogrammed on 06/06/16 and is having the same issue as we speak 8/24/16. The car jerks, doesn't accelerate properly and is doing what it wants, very unsafe as it doesn't want to shift and jolts when it does. It's almost like its stuck in gear. This car has been nothing but problems and I'm irritated that this was repaired 2 months ago and the problem clearly isn't fixed. I'm pregnant and am very dissapointed that Ford can allow a problem like this to continue without proper resolution and safety for its customers.

Electronic Stability Control problem #33

To whom it may concern, my name is wanda west-turner and I am writing this complaint about a 2011 Ford Fiesta se I purchased at a private dealer on July 1, 2016. The car started running very strange after a week I experience very ruff rides. So I called Ford company in mcdonough GA. The person I talked to said that it was on recall and for me to bring it in, I did. They kept it over night to update the transmission and other problems causing me to pay for a rental which I felt should have been paid by the dealer or Ford moter company. I did ask the dealer if they knew the car was on recall and they said no! I ask question after question, the owner even drove the car himself and said that<s the way the car runs. I also have problems with the door locks, speed, speeding up on it<s own, transmission, hesitation, using more gas, and sounds ruff when trans get very hot. I now have to take it back on 9-19, 2016 I guess for more testing. I have notified the dealership about this. I am very stressed about this because I have a loan for $7000+ financed. Is there any help out there to get this rectified this problem. I need my car for transportation. Which me luck.

Electronic Stability Control problem #34

2012 Fiesta will just turn off while driving, it does not matter what type of weather, driving uphill or in regular traffic at a stop. Car is beginning to have problems in traffic and the stopping occurs more during stop and go type of driving. When this happens the engine goes out; light comes on then the ignition switch goes out and sometimes I can restart it and sometimes the signal will turn off everything completely, leaving me stranded in the middle of traffic or in the parking lot of a store;if I'm lucky. Recently it stopped on my mother and had to be towed home. This failure has happened in the middle of intersections, on the freeway or just driving through town. The car will shutter sometimes before it shuts off, or just starts to stall. When this happens I am unable to move to the shoulder or pull off the road to restart the car. This failure of the car just stopping while running has a potential of causing an auto accident. This failure happens at any time and cannot be predicted. Driving unsure what may happen. Currently it is sitting in my drive way it wouldn't restart and I had to pay a towing fee. Need to have it fixed now! am losing time and money with no transportation. This is a Ford misstep and I shouldn't have to pay for a recurring event with this vehicle. Have been driving this vehicle with the stalling and stopping and didn't think much of it, but recently am starting to get the behavior that many other vehicle owners are reporting with the complete stopping anywhere or any time; so I know it is a manufacturer's problem and it's beginning to affect me. I need this issue resolved now. You want the public to drive and use american made products I choose Ford and I'm expecting Ford to keep their manufacturing promise to me. "go further is our global brand promise ". Really! Ford come get my car and fix it!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #35

My 2011 Ford Fiesta se will not start. Electrical issues , pcm possibly. When you try to start the car all lights flicker, battery is fine and continues to attempt to start even after the key is turned back in non-starting position. The radio and usb/charging ports don't work either. This potential repair is going to cost me more than this thing is worth. Ford shouldn't sell crap. I bought this car because I needed reliable safe transportation not to have a money pit with no transportation and a loan. I literally just spent $1000 at a garage for maintenance and it wouldn't start when I went to pick it up yesterday. Now the Ford dealership is guessing pm! I shouldn't have to pay for this, Ford should recall the pcm and fix the electrical or stop ripping people off with garbage.

Electronic Stability Control problem #36

My mother in law and I both own a Ford Fiesta and a Ford focus. . Mine bought brand new in 2014 and hers used but gently used and we've had problems with them since we bought them. We have both tried bringing them into Ford many times to get fixed and they both tell us it's the computers. . That they need to be reset. Every time they reset the computers and we continually have to take them back in. . Even when the transmission light lights up, all they do is reset the computers. The last time I took my Fiesta in, it was still shaking when I drove it to check on it. The man at Ford told me that they all do that and it's normal. A few days later, I had to take it back in because it stalled. When it finally started, when I put it into drive, it reversed and would not drive forward. We took it to Ford, they reset it and blamed it on the computers. A few days later, the transmission light lighted up and it stalled on my husband. I need a solution to this issue because they keep sending us home without fixing it. What should we do?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #37

I bought the car in Sep 2015. About two weeks after having the car, I noticed the car would stall/shake/jolt between 20-30 mph. It gets to the point were the just does not accelerate at all. This is a huge concer for safety of myself and my family. I have done research and it seems like Ford is doing nothing about. This is not safe drive. Ford needs to fix the problem. I am now stuck with a lemon that nobody wants, and now im stuck making payments on a crap car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #38

Over the last 2 months, the radio and instrument dashboard have been flashing intermittently and car losing power. Brought to Ford dealership but they couldn't duplicate the problem during test drive. In addition to the problems listed earlier, now the tcs off keeps on flashing even when car is idle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #39

2012 Ford Fiesta fails to turn on at random times. Lights from the control panel to the headlights continually blink and turn off while driving. This evening while driving down a busy highway, I made a right turn and the transmission locked up and I could not accelerate or move the car to safety until turning the car on and off again. Also, a few days after I bought the car, the back right door opened while I was driving with my 10 yr old son in the backseat. Ford dealership fixed the door issue but the power and transmission issues are still going on after Ford checked the car and stated it was fine in my service paperwork. The car is clearly not fine.

Electronic Stability Control problem #40

Ford has recalled transmission control module on my car, it has been determined a transmission clutch is needed to repair the car to prevent the car from changing gears while the car is in motion and can cause damage, harm and death. The dealership will not repair my car as required by Ford motors company as I have requested a rental car while my car in in service. I am seriously concerned if my car is not repaired the car could cause harm to me and possible death as the car does hestiate and stall while going thru intersections and at stop signs and take off.

Electronic Stability Control problem #41

Took my car in twice for the tcm and it's even worse. Shuddering, electrical failures, loss of engagement while driving, and worst of all Ford is denying me service until I put another 1,500 miles on the car! not sure if this is even legal. Trying to press for a lemon law now.

Electronic Stability Control problem #42

When accelerating the Fiesta lurches and then goes forward. The air conditioning pumps out cool air and then hot air off and on. The lurching issue has not been repaired and this is the fourth visit.

Electronic Stability Control problem #43

Shutter no speed when getting on freeway.

Electronic Stability Control problem #44

Car cannot be driven in snow. If trying to start from a complete stop in 1" of snow, the traction control will cut power to the wheels, leaving you stuck in place. This is very dangerous as it can leave the driver stuck in the middle of an intersection as happened to me today. Ford has since added a way to disable the traction control, but this model year is extremely dangerous in the snow.

Electronic Stability Control problem #45

I brought it to legacy Ford again on 1/14/15. And legacy Ford refused to fix my 2011 Ford Fiesta again. Then on 1/17/15 my car was in a accident.

Electronic Stability Control problem #46

My vehicle has been shuddering for years and until even the last day they explained that it was normal for that type of vehicle to react with the shudderings before taking off. The check engine lite keeps coming on and after driving for about a minute car does not reverse at all until cars shut off. Car right now is not being driven because its been a safety hazard for some time now. This is my only way of transportation. I now have been renting cars while I still pay off this car till this day. The Ford dealership has been lying to me. I hooked up the computer and got a low clutch dual control system error. I got the part changed out and car continues to have check engine lite. I use this vehicle to pick up my daughter every month. For years driving this vehicle never realized how Ford has put me and my daughter in danger by having these faulty vehicles with messed up transmission that didn't belong in these types of vehicle. I took the vehicle to get fixed once and they told me it was a recall and wouldn't happen again after the fix and it continued after some time to go back to its usual shake before take off. Like I said the last time I went for oil change and full inspection of vehicle at scarsdale Ford dealership the mechanic said he took it out for a drive and saw nothing wrong with my car. After I drove it out the dealership car continued to shake and knew that he was lying. They just dont want to fix the problem. Please help I owe over $4000 left on payments and this car isnt worth not even a penny for the danger it put me through everytime I took the car out for a drive. Whenever my car check engine lite came on was when I was on local roads and highway. The car as of now does not reverse but when driven it also doesnt change its gears properly it skips gear 2 sometimes and car shakes. Luis dickson (917) 569 9109 hunter3044@gmail. Com.

Electronic Stability Control problem #47

The door latch for my passenger door refuses to close. The door swings freely and cannot latch to the car. My passenger almost fell out of the car. Very dangerous and scary situation trying to drive. This is the second time this has happened the first incident was a rear passenger door not latching. The door latch needs to be recalled.

Electronic Stability Control problem #48

Issues with the transmission since I bought the car sputters dies wont start shifts into neutral on its own dangerous car its not safe Ford knows and wont fix it. I have had the battery changed to fix the issue to no avail and the shift solenoid to no avail dealer cant fix it what can be done to make the car safe.

Electronic Stability Control problem #49

The traction control on my 2011 Fiesta is a death trap. There is no option on my specific car to disable the system. In mild snow or slush, the vehicle loses all power to the wheels as soon as tcs engages. I got stuck at the bottom of my driveway. Today, 2/14/14 I was nearly killed when the car got stuck in 4" of snow & was partially in the lane of a busy roadway (I was attempting to turn into the parking lot to my place of employment). My fiance' & our 8 yr old son (who is a factor 9 hemophiliac) were screaming and scared to death as the car was helpless to move away from oncoming traffic. This is an issue that later year 2011, 2012, & 2013 models have the option to turn off this function however there is no way to add this feature to my car. If I or my family are injured due to this issue I will sue Ford & NHTSA for allowing this vehicle to be sold with this kind of safety problem.

Electronic Stability Control problem #50

My boyfriend went out to start my car up and warm it up for me. . . It would turn over. . . Then after trying again it started. I went out to go to work and went to back out of the drive way and my car would not go in reverse. I then put it in drive and moved up a little and then proceeded to back out and then when I went to put it in drive again it would go any where. It was like the gear go stuck. I had to have my boyfriend push my car back into the driveway. I then called jones junction where I purchased the car and had it towed into their shop because I had coverage on it for repair for them to call me and say there is nothing wrong with my car. I did some research myself and found that this has been an issue with the 2011 Ford Fiesta transmission electronic controls . I'm furious that any dealer would inform me that there is nothing wrong with the car and because no repairs were being done I had a towing bill of 185. 00. I was stuck out in the middle of the road on a icy day and could have been easily hit by another vehicle. The gears locked up and would not go in drive. I hope and wish that Ford will resolve this matter on these cars before it causes a injury or a someone's life. I will be contacting the Ford dealership this morning. Thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #51

I leased this as my first new car. When I first purchased it, I loved it. As time went on, I noticed that my car would start to jerk as I'd accelerate and the shifting was never smooth. When I had an oil change, I asked about it and was told that because it was converted from a manual to an automatic (like all the automatic Fiestas), it felt like I was shifting gears. I'm not too good with cars, so I trusted Ford. It got worse over time and to this day they say that it is normal. I've went in twice for recalls and services on my car. They still say it's normal. This is not normal. I've opted to lease another car because I am so unhappy with my Ford. I still have it, but I don't like to drive it. If I had to do it again, I would never lease a Ford. It feels like I've wasted my money and they do not care about their customers.

Electronic Stability Control problem #52

On several occasions now my traction control and abs have malfunctioned. Tonight while driving on the highway the abs, traction control and hill assist warning lights came on followed by a complete loss of power steering.

Electronic Stability Control problem #53

Vehicle: 2011 Ford Fiesta, manual trans. , fwd. Road conditions: snow covered 1-2", no ice underneath, no slush buildup. Incident: at stop sign waiting to turn left onto road. Oncoming traffic in either direction is thru, no stop. No oncoming traffic. Accelerating across two lanes to turn left- divided 4 lane municipal road 40mph speed limit. Midway across road, front wheels began to slip, traction control activated and removed power. Car stopped in middle of road. Was unable to move vehicle in 1st/2nd/3rd gear without traction control removing power. In first instance, oncoming traffic had to stop while I exited vehicle and pushed vehicle into median where traction was found. This happened twice. After second occurrence, determination was made to only turn right to not place self at risk of accident. Follow-up research: early production Ford Fiesta are incapable of deactivating traction control. Later models do and in the 3rd printing of the owners manual it is recommended to turn off traction control in snow or mud. This action would allow wheels to spin to pavement and generate sufficient traction to maintain or begin vehicle motion. Additional information: above research was obtained by discussion with Ford technical support/engineering. They also advised that it was not possible to retrofit my vehicle with the capability to deactivate traction control. I have had vehicles in the past of similar weight/powertrain/profile which were equipped with one-touch buttons to disable traction control when in the appropriate situations. These cars were very capable in 1-2" of snow with the traction control disabled. I have advised Ford that I intended to provide this report to NHTSA and they likewise said they intend to self-report it as well. Recommendation: I believe this to be a safety issue that needs to be addressed by whatever means NHTSA has available.

Electronic Stability Control problem #54

2-3" of snow, car would not move no power to wheels in middle of intersection, no way to disable traction control! complained to Ford at various levels and got no satisfaction basically telling me "too bad".

Electronic Stability Control problem #55

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the traction function was used while driving 5 mph uphill however, the traction function could not be disengaged. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 7,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #56

Early year 2011 models of Ford Fiesta do not have the ability to disable the elec. Stability control known as advanctrac for driving in icy conditions. While driving up a hill with snow and/or ice cover the front drive tires started to spin slightly. The engine automatically reduced power immediately to both wheels until all forward momentum ceased. At this point the vehicle started sliding backward down the hill with no control since there was no power to the wheels. This was extremely dangerous as the hill had a steep drop-off on one side and trees on the other. I was able to drive our 2010 Ford focus and our 2001 Chevrolet blazer up the same hill at that time with no issues or hesitation. A similar event has occurred on a level road where the snow is deep and the vehicle has come to a stop. If both tires start to spin, power is reduced to the drive wheels and the vehicle is effectively stuck. This is especially dangerous at slippery intersections. If the vehicle had a disable function for the advanctrac, the car could easily be driven out of icy conditions such as these. There is no information in my owner's manual (1st printing) on this condition. In later manuals (3rd printing which can be downloaded) Ford has provided a manual shut-off through the multifunction display. This option does not exist on my vehicle's multifunction display. Early 2011my Ford Fiestas should be recalled and updated to fix this dangerous condition.

Electronic Stability Control problem #57

Early model 2011 Ford Fiesta are not equipped with defeat-able traction control. Late model 2011 and all 2012 models have a menu to disable the feature. Moderate snowfall. Approximately 4-6 inches. If vehicle is stopped because of traffic, or a stop sign or becomes stuck in the snow it is not possible to turn off the traction control feature on the vehicle to get moving again or to get un-stuck. The traction control is so aggressive that the wheels will literally not turn if any slip is detected. This forces the driver to exit their vehicle and push the vehicle or shovel down to the pavement, or wait for a tow truck. Either way the driver is exposed to traffic in inclement weather. You can sit in the car and hope no one hits you while you wait for the tow truck. Or you can get out and shovel or push and hope that no one hits you. I have attempted to contact Ford customer service, whose answer is that it is defeat-able and they cite a page in the owners manual that doesn't exist in the early model year Fiesta's. The dealership also attempted to give me the same answer. I had to show them that the page of the book they were citing was a later printing. Exiting your vehicle in a snowstorm or just after a snowfall is a very serious situation. Even staying in your car blocking traffic in a snowstorm or after snowfall is a serious and dangerous situation to the general public. Ford needs to correct this problem for all early model year 2011 Fiesta's. Ford has already acknowledged an oversight without saying it by putting the feature in latter built 2011's and all 2012's. As the snowy season approaches I am faced with the same dangerous situations that I thought Ford may fix on their own. I need your help.
