Seat belt retractor/pretensioner failed and was causing the passenger seatbelt light to go off. Had to repair due to automatic failing of inspection for this issue and the major safety issue this poses. Auto shop charged me $784. 82 for today's repair and over $300 (don't remember exact amount, if claim moves forward I will contact them for another copy of that invoice) for a different repair on the seatbelt. I called Ford and they told me their 5 year/60k warranty on the car expired. I told them that under federal code 49 usc subsection 30120 the manufacturer is required to repair such safety, they told me they couldn't help me and to go away, despite the clear language of this code. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against the Fiesta/ Ford motor company (not sure who exactly, I haven't done this before) to request reimbursement under federal law for defective safety equipment. Do not have both bills. The most recent bill will be uploaded. If this claim can move forward, please let me know and I will henceforth retrieve the earlier invoice for the failed attempt at the independent auto repair shop for evaluation and possible compensation.

Static through speakers - possible cause, alternator, spark plugs, or faulty wiring. Passenger air bag light - comes on and off on its own randomly. Overheats - with fluids all topped off and car parked and running for 5 minutes it will start extremely overheating with visible smoke. Not sure why. Wire cover - plastic panel on ground towards front of door on driver side needs better coverage. Panel just keeps popping off showing wires. Not sure to what. If gets wet from getting in and out of car can shock you while your driving if touch it just right. Emergency break - don't work warming indicator - says doors are open when they aren't. Headlights - work when they want to. Theft alarm - don't work hood pop lever - the lever to pop your hood isn't connected well. The whole lever is just hanging under my steering wheel from the cords. Not latched into anything just kinda floating in the air, makes it hard to pop the hood, can be a distraction while driving with something hitting your knee. Belt buckles - when using seat belts, comes unclicked randomly while driving or won't buckle at all when first trying to put it on. Trunk - unlatches and opens randomly while driving or parked. Shocks? - not sure if it's shocks or what it is. But there is no comfortability while driving. You can feel every bump, pot whole, crack, anything you drive across. Think it messed up my bearings because of it. But I'm not a mechanic so these are just examples of what's going on and what I think.

I was involved in a hit and run accident where I ended up hitting a large wooden pole and wall . My seat belt failed also my steering wheel airbag did not deploy even though I hit the pole and wall head on . All my other airbags deployed but it didn't stop my chest from impacting. The steering wheel and my right knee from smashing into the dashboard. The car was inspected by law enforcement and by my insurance company geico. Geico still has the car because it was a total loss.

In my 2013 Fiesta, the driver's side seatbelt will no longer retract back in place properly- and while driving it would not retract properly, usually staying loose. The passenger side seatbelt would not fit snug around the passenger either. Both front seatbelts would not restrain anyone in the event of braking hard. I took it in for repair to fred bean's Ford in exton, PA. It was unsafe to drive the car because both the driver and passenger would fly forward when the brakes were pushed hard- no restraining at all from either seatbelt. The dealership will charge me over $800 to install a new part called a pretensioner in both seatbelts. I will save my receipt.
On August 5 I fell asleep and ran into the back of a truck stopped at a light. My knee air bag deployed but the steering wheel bag did not and the shoulder belt did not deploy causing me to hit the steering wheel very hard bruising my sternum and causing surrounding muscle inflammation that is still sore today.

My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fiesta st with a sunroof. I live in an area where there is not much flat land to park vehicles. My driveway is greater than a 20% grade. This complaint is related to sunroof seal leaks in any mode of operation. The sunroof seal is a single strip of rubber with a disconnected seam that is oriented at the top of the sunroof. As the rubber ages, the rubber shrinks and the seam can develop into a gap that lets water inside the sunroof drainage tray. If the sunroof seal leaks or fails, the car is designed to collect the water and drain it to a location near the front wheel wells. This works perfectly as long as the car is level. If the car is parked at a 15% grade or steeper with the front of the vehicle pointing upwards, the sunroof seal will leak, but the water collected will not drain toward the intended drains. The water will instead flow down the sides of the roofline inside plastic troughs. These troughs are not well drained to the exterior. The water will flow through the troughs and exit into the interior of the vehicle near the head liner and the rear plastic trim of the interior next to the rear window. This will eventually fill up the sealed spare tire well, and will cause corrosion over time. This corrosion may affect the car's structural integrity and may affect the car's crash worthiness if allowed to continue. The water is only noticeable if the trunk shelf is removed, which in many vehicles will never happen. The water also has a tendency to collect on the rear seatbelt spool and the spool support fasteners. If the water is left on the seatbelt spools for long enough time, the seatbelts for the rear seats can be weakened over time by corrosion. The seatbelt issue may not become a safety concern until sometime in the car's future in the secondhand market. Black mold growth may become an issue as well.
Door from the driver seat side won't work but all the rest does.
My son hit slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of him who had slammed on their brakes, hit a patch of black ice and slammed directly into the rear end of the vehicle in front of him. Only the air bag by his feet went off. None of the other air bags deployed. The seatbelt also did not lock up immediately. He sustained a concussion, left shoulder injury, neck pain, and bruising to his chest and abdomen from the steering wheel. He had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. The car is totaled and is in a salvage lot on hold for a week in case you want to look at it.
The 2016 Ford Fiesta seatbelt does not retract properly and the seatbelt hang to the driver seat while the seatbelt metal buckle pointing up and the driver could sat to it and injured the back ribs of the driver just like how I injured my self because of lack of warnings from owners' manual from Ford motor that these seatbelt problem should have been forseable by the manufactured to warned the consumers.

Car was traveling aprox. 35 mph.
I was involved in an accident on the freeway the vehicle was struck twice and careened into the center divider once before coming to rest. The airbags never deployed. I sustained a broken neck by hyper extending my neck over the steering wheel.

Seat belt auto retractor has progressively degraded in performance on the driver's seat since ~70,000 miles. As of now, seat belt will no longer retract without physically pushing it back into the housing. Pretensioner still operates correctly.
Transmission started vibrating and causing the car to jump and shutter. And wear my tires down.
Driver's seat belt latch has trouble latching or doesn't hold. Will be replacing seat belt latch this week through dealership.
