Other Fuel System problem #1

Battery just goes dead over night. Signal lights melted and quit working. Cluster panel just shuts off while running and can't use air, radio, windows, locks, seats, etc. Car shuts off while driving down the road. Have replaced all parts suggested by codes. Still no fix. Wont shift from first gear after cluster panel shuts off. There are hundreds other complaints. This is dangerous and should be an electrical recall. Happens running driving and sitting still.

Other Fuel System problem #2

The intake manifold is melting on the inside causing melting plastic to drip into the throttle body, causing the car to run very poorly are not at all!!!.

Other Fuel System problem #3

My 2006 Ford Five Hundred is surging there's no power it stumbles shuts off.

Other Fuel System problem #4

The wrench light came on and I lost all power, now it doesn't accelerate and the more also is a loud noise coming from the engine, it sounds like it's goung to blow up.

Other Fuel System problem #5

Electronic throttle body stoppped working. Car abruptly lost all power in busy traffic, lucky to be alive. I was driving in the left lane and all of a sudden all power was gone and the car wouldn't go! I had it diagnosed by aaa repair shop in los angeles. Have to pay 900 to get new throttle body unit.

Other Fuel System problem #6

Door froze shut and ever since manually opening the message center states driver door ajar and passenger door ajar and they are not. But I can't reset driver controls until doors show closed. Have run code in my car and only code is p0193 fuel rail pressure sensor. No codes for doors.

Other Fuel System problem #7

Wrench light came on and it feels like you lose power momentarily. When it kicks back in, it lunges and will almost give you whiplash. This happens sporadically during acceleration usually on a highway.

Other Fuel System problem #8

Vehicle was stalling out finally quit, had it towed to a Ford dealer, was advise that the throttlebody had shorted out. They say it is not covered under the warraanity. The engine was replace by the Ford dealership due to a manufacture defect 6 years ago. The vehilce has less that 50,000 miles on. What estimate cost of repairing is $970. 00. We have an extended warranity coverage. But I think for shood fix it without charge.

Other Fuel System problem #9

When you shift from drive to reverse or reverse to drive, the vehicle lunges. And does it several times. Ford is aware but with only half fix the throttle problem, by cleaning it not replaing it. I spoke to a couple dealers and they both said the same thing, "that will only clean the affected part and that 65 per cent end up coming back and the customer ends up paying to $800. 00 to $900. 00 to repalce the part. That Ford will not replace the part even though it is a recall part". No crash yet. Have to be sure to keep foot on brake and keep plenty of distance from other vehicles / objects.

Other Fuel System problem #10

Vehicle surges for no particular reason and shows. A check engine light on (wrench). Control of acceleration is mixed and vehicle either lurches or feels as though transmission is in neutral and rpm's increase without acceleration by driver. Have a scheduled service call with Ford and have been issued a notice from Ford that this issue will be covered.

Other Fuel System problem #11

Car surges on its own, after putting it into gear.

Other Fuel System problem #12

Two problems: 1. Car surges sporadically (I. E. When pulling into parking space with foot on brake, car surges as if pressing the accelerator). 2. While driving all lights on dash go out, speedometer and tachometer go to zero. I had the throttle body replaced once (several months later, Ford reimbursed me for the cost under customer satisfaction program 12n03. This solved the problem for several months. The problem is now re-occurring. Ford has indicated that they will not repair the car again. This seems to be a safety issue.

Other Fuel System problem #13

2006 Ford 500. The car will suddenly surge at idle. . . It also surges during gear shifts from park to drive and park to reverse. If you do not have your foot firmly on the brake pedal the car will suddenly surge forward. This can lead to damage of the vehicle or injury to a pedestrian. Arfc website has 125 reports of this problem. Seems to get worse around the 60-65,000 mile range. . . . Conveniently out of warranty. Taking car to dealer today for evaluation and repair.

Other Fuel System problem #14

I would be stopped at a stop sign or red light and would push on the throttle to accelerate. The guy would not move at first then would "jump" and accelerate quickly. I never hit anyone because I was careful, but I took it into a Ford dealership to have them diagnose it. They claimed to know of the problem but would not cover it under warranty. I paid over $1,000 to have them replace my "throttle body. ".

Other Fuel System problem #15

The car had begun surging hard both in reverse and forward. It happens when stopping and when first putting it in gear. I've been fortunate to have not hit anything yet, but I am fearful that it might happen. I'm seeing a lot of other people having the exact same problem in several forums and websites. I do not understand why a recall has not been issued for this problem as it is obviously a serious manufacturer's defect.

Other Fuel System problem #16

My 2006 Ford Five Hundred accelerates uncontrollably. When the car is shifted into gear it accelerates without throtteling. It happens from park-to-any gear and sometimes when at traffic stops. I've noticed this problem for a while, but it is getting progressively worse. Scary!!!.

Other Fuel System problem #17

I have a 2006 Ford Five Hundred, and it has recently the engine accelerates the vehicle during low speeds in forward and reverse, while approaching an intersection with foot on brake. This has happens continuously. I am not sure what to do. . Read more...

Other Fuel System problem #18

Purchased a 2006 Ford Five Hundred and noticed that when I would put the car in drive or reverse it would lurch forward or backward quite excessively. Called the deler and took the car in and was told that the throttle body might be gummed up and that the battery also failed and could cause that problem due to resetting everytime the car starts. They cleaned the throttle body plates and replaced the battery and that same night the vehicle did the same thing when I put the car in reverse.

Other Fuel System problem #19

I was driving down the freeway and my car just stopped the second time I was driving down the street and the car stop the speed limit was 50 I was turning onto state hwy 6 and the car died I almost got hit these problem happened for quite some time and very often I called Ford and they said there was nothing they could do because there was no recall after searching online I found out hundreds of people were having the same problem with the Ford Five Hundreds and freestyle's.

Other Fuel System problem #20

Ford needs to have a recall regarding the Five Hundreds lunging when put in reverse and sometimes when put into drive. Mine started this about a year ago and I don't have to put my foot on the gas to go in reverse. Even when parked downhill! my husband and I know you must keep your foot on the brake anytime you take the car out of gear. It's very scary and we will not let anyone drive the car for fear of an accident. Please look into this!.

Other Fuel System problem #21

My 2006 Ford 500 lunges intermittently when shifting from park to drive or reverse. The car was taken to a repair shop who could not reproduce the lunging and said nothing appeared wrong. Since it only occurs intermittently, it is difficult to even get it fixed. It appears many other Ford 500's are having the same problem.

Other Fuel System problem #22

Before July 2010 I began noticing that my engine would race up to 1500 rpm while idling. I would always keep my foot on the brake so the car would not lurch forward. Then on the 4th of July multiple engine errors appeared on the car computer. The Ford dealer diagnosed a throttle body malfunction. After replacement no problem until June 2012. Once again the engine is racing to 2000 rpm while idling at a stop. I am sure that this problem is ongoing with some Ford products and will some day or has caused an accident. It is not a constant rpm rate but the rpm goes from 700 to 2000.
