The contact owns a 2006 Ford Five Hundred. While driving 20 mph, the rear of the vehicle swayed abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the inner pivot assembly on the rear suspension of the vehicle was severely corroded. The contact stated that rust caused the inner pivot assembly to separate from the subframe. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
