1 Transmission Failure problem

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Ford Five Hundred. The contact stated that while accelerating from a traffic stop, the transmission failed to operate with a sudden increase of engine rpms. The vehicle was coasted down an incline and then the transmission began to operate normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the transmission would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was unavailable. Kmj.

2 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2009

Engine idle speed is excessive at intermittent intervals while transmission is in reverse, causes vehicle to inadvertently accelerate at inappropriate speeds. Local repair shop scanned vehicles repair codes, determined it to be a transmission failure. Authorized dealership, said nothing was wrong with the vehicle after they scanned it. Vehicle, went into a "creep mode" immediately following one of the instances, but the computer reset itself after several minutes.
