Wheel problem #1

While driving the front end suspension slips, bounces up and down very harshly, tires slip, squeak, and slide in an hard to control way, sometimes into oncoming traffic when in slightly damp conditions an on roads with any amount of bumps, to the point that I need to drive extremely slow to avoid danger which in turn puts my and my passengers and my kids in danger by goin to slow in regards to the traffic around us. When hitting relatively small bumps the suspension bounces the car severely up and down and across the road into harms way.

Wheel problem #2

As I was driving down 9e at approximately 3:20pm, I hit a pothole and popped my tire. I pulled over to the side of the road and after contacting my roadside assistance, I realized that there was 3 other vehicles that had been hit by the pothole as well. The police was notified and provided each driver with an accident report.

Wheel problem #3

I recently ran into a major issue with my 2007 Ford Five Hundred which really scared me. I was rotating the tires on the car and when I was removing the wheel from the drivers side of the car I noticed that the wheel wobbled back and forth. At first I thought this was just a bad ball joint and purchased a new one to replace it. When I started to remove the factory installed ball joint I noticed that the nut that holds the ball joint to the lower connection joint was on the verge of coming off. I find this very disturbing as I live in a very mountainous state with many curvy roads and steep drop offs. Had this nut finished coming off while on one of these roads I may not be writing this letter. I will also contact nafta about this situation as it may be occurring on more vehicles than just mine. I would also like to be reimbursed for the part I had installed as it in itself was not defective. I have bought many Ford vehicles and will probably continue to as I think overall Ford makes a high quality car. I have since checked the other side and found no problems on the passenger side of the vehicle. Thanks for looking into this matter and I hope to hear from you soon!.

Wheel problem #4

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Five Hundred. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds there was an abnormal noise coming from the passenger's rear wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable diagnose the where the noise came from. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. Ah.

Wheel problem #5

My Ford began acting strangely when turning, and would hydroplane badly when raining. I took it to my independent garage and they found that the left lower ball joint retaining nut had worked loose. That caused the left front wheel to move in toward the ball joint and the joint or nut tore the tire down to the steel belt. The service manager indicated that it appeared that the nut was not torqued correctly at the factory. Of course, I had to have the ball joint replaced and two new tires. I did notify Ford motor CO.

Wheel problem #6

Front driver side wheel studs snap. Mechanics note- faulty parts he could not find any signs of over tightening from the tire company which replaced all four tires over 1 year ago.

Wheel problem #7

Have 2007 Ford 500 had a flat tire on rt. Rear. Took car to dealer to fix. They said it was caused by a cracked wheel. Possibly hitting bump in road. It has 18444 miles rarely driven and has never hit a bump very hard or at all. Bumper to bumper will not cover the cost, and we believe this is a faulty wheel from factory. Please help.

Wheel problem #8

2006 Ford Five Hundred tire blew out causing consumer to loose control and overturn the vehicle. * the consumer stated she felt a vibration prior to the accident. The consumer stated it did not appear that the incident was due to a tire failure. Possibly the lug nuts and wheel were the cause. Updated 09/24/06.

Wheel problem #9

: the contact stated on 7-29-06 while driving on the interstate at 70 mph, the tire, rim and a portion of the wheel had separated from the wheel but was still attached. The incident resulted in the contact losing control of the vehicle and caused an accident, but no one was injured. Prior to the incident, the vehicle drifted to the left rapidly. Both seat belts were in use at the time. The manufacturer was contacted and declined to inspect the vehicle because there was no prior history of this type of problem. The vehicle was totaled and a police report was taken.
