1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2015

As I was coming from dr's appt. With daughter and mom a roaring sound started in the rear. It kept getting louder and louder, car's rear would sway to the right side a little. But as I was driving down the street trying to at least get us all home safe. The rear driver side wheel came off and just rolled down the street about a half-a-block. A man came out noticing the tire roll pass him, helped me retrieve it and get it back to my car. Looked at the wheel and car axle I guess that's what you call it, and told me my wheel bearings were gone.

Brakes replaced at 48,763 miles we are now at 77,000. For the last 2-3,000 miles if feels like air in the line when you step on the brake peddle it does not immediately engage, there is a gap before the brakes engage & the gap is growing a potential safety issue. There is no noise associated with the brake actions.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2013

I was driving to work and I turned on my cruise control, I had to barely brake for a caution when a car was coming in my lane, once I went around them. . . I left the cruise control off. . . . But the car sped up on its own. . . Approximately 65-70 miles an hour. My brakes were working just fine. I called my dad to see what he wanted me to do. . . . I drove on to work (approx 20 more miles) and didn't have my foot on the gas pedal the whole time. . . . The cruise was off. . . The pedal was stuck and the car continued going 60 miles per hour. . . . Once I came to my exit, I took it out of 5th gear (manual transmission) and the car revved up horribly. . . I pulled into work and shut it off. Restarted it and it was doing the same thing. These cars need recalled!!!!.

Failure Date: 06/23/2003

I have 22,000 miles on my 2001 Ford Focus, I have just been informed that I need to replace the brakes and rotors. That's ridiculous for such low miles. After a little research, I see that there is a class action lawsuit against Ford. The lawsuit is for exactly my problem.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

My warranty was 36,000 which is up. Fixing the brakes was no problem but I dont feel my wheel bearings need replaced this quickly without having some kind if default in them from the start. My car is making this loud, roaring sound, which is driving me crazy. I'm writing to see if there's anything the headquarters of Ford can do. There are recalls on 2001 Ford Focuses but just so happen not on my car and why is that when im having complications with it. It sounds like a tractor and ive only had the car for 16 months. I was a student in dallas and that was the only traveling I did. I'm not hard on vehicles at all. The wheel bearing are gone bad on my car and I hope there's something someone can do. Its the front ones. By the way it doesn't seem as if my transmission is changing the correct # of gears.

This car has been returned to the dealership on three occasions for brake squeal. Sounds like metal to metal. This is a major squeal not just a squeak. Dealerships repeatedly refuse to fix the problem because they say it's a "normal noise". I've driven cars for 20+ years and never has a brake squeal been normal. It's been taken to the dealership at 7,000, 15,000 and 16,500 miles.
