Steering Failed problems of the 2001 Ford Focus

1 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2009

The contact owns a 2001 Ford Focus. While backing out of the driveway at an unknown speed, the contact turned the steering wheel and heard a noise. The steering wheel became inoperative. The vehicle was inspected by a certified mechanic, who stated that the steering shaft failed. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 89,000.

2 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2002

When going around a slight curve steering and brakes failed causing impact with curb and permantly disabling the steering. The car is undrivable and had to be towed. Recall was issued 11/06/02 but Ford states that I will not be notified until 01/03. I must wait until then or pay to have car looked at to determine if faulty part is contained in the most recent recall. Dt.
