Transmission Failure problems of the 2001 Ford Focus

1 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2004

Consumer was shifting gears and transmission failed on its own. Transmission was unable to shift properly, and was unable to move. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer, and mechanic determined that transmission needed to be replaced. The consumer stated that the vehicle would go backwards in reverse after a lot of jerking. After several attempts the vehicle would not go back at all.

2 Transmission Failure problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2003

The transmission failed, before the first oil change was performed.

3 Transmission Failure problem

Consumer states that the transmission fails to shift, causing hesitation, while traveling 40 mph and slowing to 20 mph, consumer attempted to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated badly and about 2-4 seconds later the vehicle finally took off. Problem has not been remedied.
