Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Ford escape. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number 04v574000 (vehicle speed control), and NHTSA campaign number 12v353000 (engine and engine cooling, vehicle speed control) was performed; however the failure was not corrected, the contact reversed the vehicle out of the drive way and while the gear was shifted into drive with the brake pedal depressed the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact loss control of the vehicle proceeded and crashed into a fence and came to a stop when it crashed into a tree and the engine was pushed out of position. The contact suffered injuries cuts to the arms, and face, and bruises to the knee, shoulders, and back. The police was present. The vehicle was crashed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure and current mileage was 68,000. Li.

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2007

Car had sudden acceleration that was almost uncontrollable--Aug 2004 causing crash with 1 injury & car accelerated uncontrollably in reverse causing crash with damage to house. . . Both accidents could have been fatal. . Owner was accused of careless driving but was not at fault either time.
